Hello guys, I did open a discord for RIOs to get together and exchange knowledge. https://discord.gg/6Ys5W88 If such a ressource already exists, please also inform the people here and I will relay to there instead. Things like best practices, experiences with radar, etc. We humans have to stick together to beat that metal brain called JESTER.:book: BR, Deadpool

If you managed to sneak in a broom handle or something, then sure .. it would be possible irl in a specific g-envelope. My pilot considered it bad etiquette, so I am not doing that again.

As previously no RIO has written a reply: Very usable in VR as RIO, except for the TACAN authority display, liquid cooling and weapon selector. but with face against the plate and zoom you can manage those. and usually you only set them up once or at least know their last status. So no real gamebreaker there.

Track for developers seems good, but if you or anyone ever experiences that again, try restarting your WCS computer. I'd love to know if that helps. Had lots of fun yesterday using the onboard tools to try to workaround, diagnose or otherwise coerce more info out of the systems. Got a good immersive shakedown cruise feeling to it!

[No Bug] Salvo flares switch not stopping when snapping back to OFF
deadpool replied to deadpool's topic in Bugs and Problems
I just reviewed my videos and managed to home in on this one. If the PWR/MODE switch is set to OFF, the SALVO FLARES button to on will release a single duo of flares and not deplete fully. Also I think I managed to fire a single chaff with PRGM switches when the whole AN/ALE-39 is turned off by means of the PWR/MODE switch. -
[No Bug] Salvo flares switch not stopping when snapping back to OFF
deadpool replied to deadpool's topic in Bugs and Problems
Had a great first date with it! The multicrew experience is a whole new level of immersion! Good job guys! -
from the manual: SALVO FLARES switch Enables parallel rapid firing of all flares while held in ON. Switch needs to be lifted to move to ON position. What happened: Flipped switch to ON momentarily and let it snap back to OFF. All flares were shot out over the course of some seconds. What I expected: Some flares to shoot out and to stop immediatly after switch snapped back.

PSA: Virtual CVWs should have a 'v' for 'virtual'
deadpool replied to Nealius's topic in Multiplayer
I roughly paraphrase you from another forum post I had the pleasure of reading: "I never had trouble with this, henceforth, you shouldn't either. Otherwise: Go for AceCombat." --- But in all honesty, what is the problem here? Let people name themselves however they want. If people really think that an acronym like that can be copyrighted in every country of the world for it to matter globally ... no .. just no .. Set a good example and if it makes sense, it will spread on it's own. -
to be fair, the ASL Line did work before. If you want to consider it WiP to make that ok, then the whole plane is to be considered WiP and you have just won the argument and all future ones to come. I understand where you are coming from and see your opinion as a valid part of "the truth" (that is in the middle of all opinions most likely). But in your post you did not rationally defend the devs or anything, you portraied yourself with a bit of a smug attitude and explained away shortcomings that once worked by saying: who needs them anyways, because I certainly don't. That is not a valid argument, especially when you clearly raise some good points that do stand.

How do you want this to be received by readers? To me it sounds like boasting and belitteling the original poster. An attack on the person. This is not helpful. Viper is talking to his car dealer that the car he bought a while ago and that had a working cruise control now doesn't have that anymore. And then there are customers like you that chime in and flex their muscles going: cruise control? I drive the same car as you do mate, I can hold it at 90mph real good without cruise control! what's wrong with you!? And if in fact you don't mind the plane not having all the features it was advertised with and that the real thing has, because you don't use them. Then maybe it's you that doesn't mind a more arcade'ish playstil and would like to give AceCombat a try. And I mean this in the kindest way possible as a reaction to a very personally condescending post of yours.

@kotor: I think it can be agreed upon that it's currently a bit of a PR-challenge. And things that might have lead viper to use the word liar (or similar) might be because there are promises and they are continously broken. There was the communication that right after the MiG-19 the M2000 overhaul is next and then AV8B overhaul. Now the official line is that after MiG-19 the team is moving on to MiG-23. It could be a different team, who knows. It wasn't communicated clearly enough and trust level is down. There was a central promise on what av8b-features are still missing (and potentially who/when they might be implemented). This list has been mentioned in January, but was delayed as it relied on people coming back from vacation. There have been communications since then, that it will be made available "shortly". It now is beginning of March and there is no word, no update on it. The thread in which this was mentioned has been closed. I didn't want to bring this up in public again so I wrote =DECOY= in a PM about this, but got no response after days. I don't want to point out specific people, particularily because one of the perceived problems is that RAZBAM as an entity isn't that transparent as to the amount and whereabouts of the people, at least to some here on the forum. I just want to point out that trust is at a lowpoint at the moment between parts of the community and RAZBAM, that communication is the key to fix that, and that people lashing out here is because they see little other way to raise their feelings and complaints. They are essentially helpless in a situation that is beyond their control. To say it with a metaphor: You get to know a woman/a man you like. You go and buy them dinner, go on a date, it was a cool date and a nice dinner. But there is this promise that this is going to be more, as you see her/him to be the most gorgeous person in the whole world. But it's always you who has to phone her/him. The responses are growing shorter, sometimes you're blocked when you call. The dating isn't that regular anymore and the quality suffers. But you see on Facebook, that he/she seems to be going out with other friends, so he/she has the free time, but just choses to not spend it on you, but when asked .. if he/she answers, he/she says everything is ok. That you should not worry. And then you have friends like Esac_mirmidon that tell you that he/she's still totally into you, that your gut feeling is wrong and that you shouldn't start thinking about seeing other women/men, and that they don't like to hear you moaning about this woman/man anymore. To have to explain this here is frustrating, as I personally do not believe =DECOY= or anyone else from RAZBAM will read it and get something new from this. I am quite sure that RAZBAM is aware of this and I believe not communicating is done consciously. I am helpless, I can't do anything about this, all I can do is turn to ED and hope they know what they are doing in their ecosystem. And ED has my trust. Personally, I just don't fly the Harrier anymore. I don't feel like reporting defects, as I don't feel respected or my time spent on that valued by RAZBAM. tl;dr: Relationship status: It's complicated. However it makes no sense to go personal here, or to just throw back and forth. This is not a domain of equals. There is a distinct direction in which the money flows, so the receiving end - especially as the professional entity in this relationship - needs to present a plan and stick to it to get this straightened out. And personally I do feel that the state of the Harrier is by now something that the CEO of RAZBAM can make an appearance about. If he would bring to the table an idea how to walk the rest of the way together at a pace that's acceptable to all, then that would be a huge step in the right direction to calm the waves. @Easc_mirmidor: Even though I mentioned you personally, I don't mean specifically you, as there are lots of people here that like you don't see the fuzz, have a thicker hide, etc. Due to seniority or due to this particular plane just not being that important to them is something I cannot answer. I understand where you're coming from and try to see it more relaxed. But also ask for the effort to put yourself into the shoes of others.

Cool! Thank you!

I don't want to repeat myself, but as far as I understand the process of the Bugtracker, it's this chain of events: Defect gets reported -> =DECOY= reproduces or confirms it -> Testers reproduce/confirm it -> Development I suspect there is no testing after development. Otherwise certain things couldn't be explained :-)
-
Thanks for the communication and information! Keep it coming, it's appreciated! :-)
-
SURPRISE is the brevity code I use instead of MAGNUM at the moment. But with all luck this will change. So next pressing defects: - Awful AGM65 slew (especially the movement of missing stabilisation after you let go of the TDC) - TPOD point track - general DMT / TPOD / DESIGNATE point handoffs - BULLSEYE support
-
They could have at least released the Harrier parts .. it's not like we're not used to updates with critical bugs and that would require rebuilding or new and more testing sessions. :-(
-
you need to crank up the AUX sound (near the lighting knobs you'll have a 2-level knob, basically a smaller one on top of a bigger one, turn the small one all the way up). But yeah .. the AGM-122 has it's issues.

Remember remember, the 7th of November. The defects of sidearms are gone. I know of no reason why in this winter season Instead of magnums you'd fire your gun.
