  1. DX12 is an application interface, to make use of dx12 it is in the game itself that the functions are enabled. ie if DCS is encoded for DX9 or DX whatever that's what it will use. DX12 effects will appear when you buy a dx12 game. or DCS gets an update for DX12 ?. if you have DX12 its backwards compatible so DX9 games will run but will look the same as they normally do.
  2. yes good call I followed the instructions exactly. but its highly probable that the script is out of date. I will test with event tester. I assume probably incorrectly that the driver and target software, which includes a short list of profiles downloaded 3 days ago would be up to date, and not corrupted. a corrupt download is not unusual, I don't think that's the case. target manual says point at DCS update, and add profile in box provided. I would assume at launch it would, run script, launch updater, which in turn launches DCS. but it doesn't launch DCS, I have to do it manually, is this normal ?. no chance of loose usb cables, in this room are two very large desks and self built computers. its my computer room. did a reinstall, etc. running outside of target it works perfectly. can now use left throttle as prop control, in p51d. need to absorb the target manual, before using it.
  3. my stick, throttle, trakir, rudder. all into mobo. dcs is all I run these days. seems to work outside of target. although it would be nice to have the left hand throttle set for prop control for p51d. but it only works as two separate controls in A10C.
  4. it works for a short time followed by. buttons not functioning, but stick and throttle still working. trakir still working, but keyboard non active, cant ctrl alt delete for task manager. cant use escape. first time, it got me back to desktop, and reported a few syntax errors. I checked for control conflicts. second time I had to do a hot shutdown. ok so target is bugged. target software suggests, that it will launch dcs, it doesn't, after a wait I launch from the dcs icon. a lot of cash for a product that looks good, but should not lock me out of my own pc,
  5. now I can . strange. tried to reply, now trying to edit, I keep being asked to log in even though I am. try again later.
  6. I have teamspeak, rudder, stick, throttle, trakir. like to try flying and failing online, apart from allocating controls, being able to fly, and getting my first Ai kill. how specifically, do I get online ?. searched for thread, cant find one. should be able to get teamspeak advice from She who must be obeyed, She uses teamspeak for World of Warblecraft. on her own system, one I built for her, not as powerfull as my system. but she agrees that I know best when it comes to a specially designed system for World of Warblecraft.
  7. your sys specs look good, and of course you would be running 64 bit os, probably w7.???.. posting a trk would help. and you may have controller issues..but not enough info to make any decision. are we talking about stuttering, micro freezes etc ??? bit late, must visit the site more often.
  8. dcs world 1.2. black shark 2 1.2. single mission, death valley. my two wingmen and myself have complete textures. the two parked sharks, on the apron have odd yellow textures. looks like small texture repeated and wrapped onto model..havent seen this in p51, or a10, but havent come across the ka 50 in those modules yet., jim
  9. dcs world, bs2, a10, p51. some add on single missions, gave me flyable, and static black sharks, in what looks like a yellow, repeated texture, with a red misapplied warning logo. i assumed this was a texturing problem, where the lack of texture map, caused a default to a repeating small texture, wrapped onto the model. but this occurs in dcs world bs2, in default missions also. is this, texture problem, just my problem, recently arrived sharks in factory paint scheme.?. apologies to frank zappa. jim
  10. yes true....ssds...or tm warthog....choices, choices, decisions,,decisions...cash, cash...jim. jim
  11. the x52 pro stick and throttle, are indeed fine tools......but i switched to the ch fighter stick and throttle...my engineering background has given me a dislike of solutions that involve a rising ball, cone, and spring loaded sliding tube and shaft....in my personal opinion a dire engineering solution to a problem..that works sometimes, but is always tempting sliding shaft stiction..the ch fighter stick has two axis sliders, in the horizontal plane, and will not suffer from stiction....takes a little while to get used to but works like silky smooth.... i do not use prog software...the disks that came with the ch are unopened.. i set my stick thrott, pedals, in hotas...delete duplicate assignements...adjust axis as needed...only needed a couple of modifiers, to add all hotas....stuck sticky labels all over my controls...when they wear out.i will have them memorised..... this sim is so damn realistic, that the top guns on this site, have a special patch. if they get injured, instead of a virtual broken leg, they get a real world broken leg......ummm that may be just a rumour...jim
  12. same for me with fresh install of 1.08....worked on 1.07.....tried several times....when i start receiving morse beeps, instructor jumps ship...and the .30 button stays illuminated...with autopilot engaged......i contact batumi....try to tell them ime a noob alone up here, get the fire trucks ready....and land anyway....hope my instructor gets better soon.....jim....ps what does the warn 0% next to my post mean...jim problem solved possibly...install updated training patch..... and test ? ..jim
  13. i use saitek rudder peds in a10 1.08....they work flawlessly.....rudder..nose wheel steering, differential braking....first i make sure rudder pedals have no extranious assignments.....rudder....left and right brake.....duplicate assignments in other controlers deleted........as i have an irrational fear of duplicate assignment conflicts..... rudder may need some dead zone....axis curve...to suit taste....brakes may need some dead zone to taste...but no curve....if in sim check brakes are on but go off when pressed....if so in axis modify tick invert for both brakes..works for me...diff braking plus steering equals back flips....waiting for patch 1.09, and simulated court marshal......jim
  14. this is a simple question...i pride myself on being a simpleton...the most powerfull aircraft i have flown....piper warrior....no guns sadly... i have dl threshors miz....unpacked the rar files....several miz files....where do i put them....and should i put them in a folder of theyre own....noticed that the exe in the nvidia gui points to black shark....i only have a10 installed...just getting to grips with the best sim ever, apart from crashing, due to dropping my cigarrete, and having to scrabble about in the bottem of the cockpit to retrieve it.....jim
  15. i am sure you are correct, i dont use many forums, so iam new to this.its starting to dawn on me that forums, are mainly for critisism of posts.but its good for info. black shark has a superb flight model.
  16. quite true, the aircrafts body precesses about a fixed point, caused by the input of torque from the rotor shafts.and chinooks do manage to turn quite well without a tail rotor using one of several solutions used in twin rotorcraft.

  18. i am sure everybody knows this, but here goes anyway. all surfaces on aircraft either generate lift or drag, when air passes over a surface that has a longer distance on one side than the other, the air on the longer side has to speed up, this causes a drop in barometric pressure generating lift, it also causes a certain amount of drag on the shorter side. this is true for rotor blades, tail rotors, rudders, stubby wings, and the body of the aircraft. twin rotor helicopters dont need a tail rotor, because contra rotating main rotors cancel out the precessional forces. but in zero wind, in a hover the rudder does not receive enough airflow to make a difference. then rotation is carried out using differential main rotor control, in common with all twin rotor helicopters not having a tail rotor, or like the chinook which has no rudder. the rudder is for forward flight, like a fixed wing aircraft it is used for making co-ordinated turns, this is what the little ball in the artificial horizon is for. the rudder is linked to the main rotors, but like all airofoils it needs an appreciable airflow to have any effect. helos are finely balanced, and inherently unstable in a hover with even a slight wind they will weathervane, because of the body of the aircraft, you counteract this with differential rotor control, sure the rudder moves as well doesnt do much unless the airflow is high, too much of this and you get pilot induced oscillation, which means a go around.the ap fixes as a snapshot in time its not able to continually adjust for constant changes thats the pilots job.
  19. apart from overclocks, cpu/ram, good cooling, enough fast low latency ram, ie, hardware updates. what your left with is system tweaks. try alacrity pc its freeware, shut down unnecessary processes, and programs while running bs one profile for offline, one for online. multicore uage has to be implemented in the software. fsx was patched to allow 2 cores.but its more about the idea of getting bs to hog one core, while the the other cores handle all the other other non bs stuff. a single core will always be reduced to time slicing. if you use alacrity to shut down and restart bloat,it has to be done differently than most games, because bs is module based, the shutdown pofile has to point at notepad or whatever, when shutdown completes, minimize notepad not close, fire up bs,when finished max notepad, close, alacrity will restart all the bloat for you. a bit of extra without hardware expense, but i always overclock extreme for the challenge...jim
  20. thanks for the help, after 6 hours downloading the exe, my logic circuits were overcome by excitement, failed to go back to purchase page to click on download, again followed by click on cab,now successful.i like fsx, i like il2, but lockon and black shark are superior.thanks jim.
  21. paid for bs downloaded setup exe, will not let me download data cab,ran exe it aborted, what now?help jim
