That's not in question. The point I was making and which the document I linked supports, is that C3 injection was Erhöhte Notleistung. The knob to activate C3 injection in the 190 was labelled as Erhöhte Notleistung.
-
Any comment on the doc I referenced?
-
http://degnans.com/markd/Fw-190A5 Part 7 Engine.pdf Page 12 C3 injection is, according this document, called Erhöhte Notleistung.
-
In the doc, it references "C3 supplemental fuel injection." Did "C3 supplemental fuel injection" have a name? I had thought Erhöhte Notleistung was what they called it.
-
I thought the Erhöhte Notleistung system injected C3 fuel.

You can stay out of SAM range and still mark targets. If enemy fighters are in the area, saving a minute or two marking targets probably doesn't mean you won't get shot down.
-
100% possible. Actually, 100% certain because I do it all the time. I am not sure of your procedure, but you can set targets of opportunity while staying well out of range. You can ripple off your 10 JDAMS using TOO mode. It's faster and easier than setting targets on the F10 map or setting a waypoint.
-
By DCS standards, that means it should be available. LOL
-
What about GM1? How widely was that used on the A-8?
-
You can also use the TPOD to add target or mark points.
-
C3 injection is Erhöhte Notleistung. I thought only the F8's got C3?
-
Wasn't the Dora just a stopgap until the Ta-152 was in production?
-
The FW-190A-8 had GM1, C-3, or neither, Depending on the variant of A-8.
-
It takes less than a minute to start the MiG-19. It's the easiest plane to start in DCS that isn't an FC3 plane.

I stand schooled and reprimanded.

I'll call your bluff. Show me your proof/evedence that the aircraft of the 9th AF never used 150 octane fuel and were relegated to interdiction/ground attack. Please educate us.
-
I'd like to know where you got that "fact." I can prove the 358th Fighter Group of the 9th Air Force provided bomber escort to the 8th Air Force as their primary role. The 356th Fighter Squadron was part of the 358th Fighter Group of the 9th Air Force. The only pilot to receive the Medal of Honour in the European Theater was Major James Howard of the 356th Fighter Squadron, protecting the 401st Bomb Group of the 8th Air Force.
-
And that's not that simple. Many fighter groups from the 9th AF were used as fighter escort for the 8th AF over Germany throughout and up until the end of the war.

How many A-10C II's flew over the Caucasus? My guess is that's going to be none. We are limited by what maps we have and the aircraft we have. How many P-51D-25/30's or P-47D-30/40's saw action during the short window of June-July 44? Judging by production and serial numbers, my guess is going to be none. So you can just create missions with the Spitfire LF Mk. IX and the rest are A.I.
-
The FM of the 51 and 47 don't take into account the higher octane fuel they actually used? I find that hard to believe.
-
Looking at the serial numbers for the variants of the 51 and 47 we have in game, I'm willing to bet that they didn't get to Europe until close to December. Which means the 109K-4 saw action before the P-47D-30/40 and P-51D-25/30 event got to their respective squadrons.
-
Don't include the Spit in your missions and your problem is solved. The P-47D-30 and P-47D-40 in DCS in the pinnacle of what saw action in Europe. I don't count the P-47M because it saw limited action in the last month of the war an in a primarily ground attack roll and the P-47N only saw action in the Pacific. The P-51D-25 and P-51D-30 are the pinnacle of what saw action is Europe. The P-51K is a P-51D with a different propeller. All entered combat at relatively the same time in 1944. Less than 4 months later, the BF-109K-4 and the FW-190D-9 started to see action. From October 1944 until the end of the war, the 4 aircraft above saw action against each other, respectively. The Spitfire LF Mk. IX is an ancient relic by comparison. The solution is to add a Spitfire Mk.XIV.
-
The P-47D-30 and D-40 we have in game first saw action in mid 1944. The Spitfire LF Mk. IX we have in game first saw action in early 1943. The P-51D-25-NA and 30-NA we have in game didn't see action until mid 1944. The BF-109K-4 we have in game didn't see action until October 1944. The outlier is the early Spitfire. At altitude, the P-47 in game is superior to the BF-109 and the P-51 is at least a match.
-
Do you disable WEP on the P-51? Do you disable water injection in the P-47?

I can't think of a module in the last few years that hasn't been released to early access first.
