One day... I prefer the F14's glare effect on the DDI's to the F18's. The quicker load times are nice. Saves me waiting for the Windows "Time Out" message... Overall the beta's have been ok... considering it is Beta.. I hope one day they combined the OB and Stable into just one version, and just give a Roll-Back button for emergencies...We need to combined the split communities... Numbers make an MP game... :)

To adjust the Brightness/Contrast of the CCD image ... 1:- Select CCD 2:- Press the ALG OSB, at the bottom... to unbox ALG 3: Press the ZOOM OSB, on the Left , to switch to LEVEL. 4: Use the up/down OSB, on the Left to adjust Brightness, 5:-Press the LEVEL OSB, on the Left, to Switch to GAIN. 6:- Use the up/down OSB, on the Left to adjust contrast,.

Also please standardise the direction of the switches... i.e. Left click ON/Ovr Ride/Forward/Up, Right click OFF/Normal/Back/Down. i.e. the Flir is driving me crazy... with Right Click ON(Forward) and Left Click ARM(Forward).. Thanks

Ok, that works.. and a little bit simplier.. Thanks. Anyone know what the difference between "In Range" and "In Zone"... as the "In Zone" couldn't his the side of a barn with a handful of rice... The switching for from range to zone is pretty quick, so you need to rapid deploy the bombs...

This is a general question about a lot of missiles. e.g. A/A , SAM , Cruise etc. I see that the Harpoons self detonate after a set distance, My question is, would all the other types of missiles do the same ? Or do they free fall to the ground for the Enemy to pickup and study ? To me most of them seem to float around for way too long, or maybe that is a Multiplayer issue ? It just doesn't make sense to have the missiles (A/A and SAM) expended all their energy and still actively track you on RWR, as this keeps you in the defensive mode ? I would of thought they all had a life cycle which ended with self-detonation as a set Range/Time/Velocity. Any takers ? Just curious.... Thanks..

I found that cycling the POD from Point Track back to Un-Track works great for selecting a new target....i.e. Sensor Switch Right... (if POD is on the right) Just need to fix the TOO target info being saved to all positions and then it will be useable. Also I found a work around to copy the TOO to PP... I guess this is a bug, but it helps to stack up targets... 1:- Arm bombs and set all stations to PP then go to the jdam msn page. 2:- Set one station to TOO. 3:- Designate a target while the TOO station is selected. Then press step.. this will copy the info into the PP for the next station ..i.e. you have to step from a TOO station to a PP station whilst a target is designated. Example....if Station 8 is TOO and you designate a target, then press step, it will populate that info into Station 2 PP , that is, if station 2 is already setup as PP.. 4:- Change the new Station into TOO.i.e. station 2.. and move the FLIR view and designate a new target... then step. again it copies the data to the next Station. 7 PP. 5:- repeat for the three stations and then you have to set the first station that was in TOO ('8') to PP and perform the copy from a TOO Station. (3). e.g. //8 TOO -> 2 PP // 2 TOO -> 7 PP // 7 TOO -> 3 PP // 3 TOO -> 8 PP// ( * -> = step) a tad fiddely, so if someone can find a better way let us know.. and don't touch undesignate...

Mystery solved.. It was driving me crazy...er... :) I guess ppl need to add version numbers in the first post or title. So now I have to lock one target. Bomb it, then lock another..until the next patch. I did like that I could stack up 8 targets and then do one run... oh well, the magic of beta's.

I think we are getting a mix of DCS Stable, and DCS Beta (2.5.6.50321). The lastest BETA (2.5.6.50321 updated less than 24hours ago) has changed the TOO functionality for JDAMS. The previous Beta (2.5.6.49798) build worked ok, but the new Beta (2.5.6.50321) Build it is setting all TOO targets to the same location. I am doing what the above video said, and it used to work.
-
When you do this, it replaces all targets in the TOO with the new Designated Target. Previously, it would retain the other target, allowing you to create upto 8 targets. Anyone figured out a work around for this ?

This works for me, however improving the accuracy of the JDAMS still eludes me.

I was able to replay the track OK and observe the problem. Maybe, it is a regional problem with tracks, as we are both in Australia. Or a windows 10 version problem with tracks... Anyhoo.... I see what the problem is and I am able to repeat it with ease... 1:- Switch A/A RADAR to a DDI. ( I used the Right). 2:- Set the A/A RADAR DDI to SOI. 3:- Move the TDC up to the BAR Scan selection (Top Left area) , until you have all the options displayed (1B 2B 4B 6B). 4:- Move the TDC quickly back down from the BAR Scan selection, with all options still displayed. I find moving the TDC away in a Right Diagonal direction the easiest way to cause the problem, but it seems repeatable in any direction after a couple of attempts. 5:- All the BAR scan options will remain displayed in the DDI. (1B 2B 4B 6B). 6:- Pressing the PB key on the DDI for the BAR Scan options has no effect to the problem. Changing Radar Modes has no effect to the problem. 7:- To clear, move the TDC over any of the DDI TDC control area again. i.e Over the BAR scan selection area, Range selection area, etc.. 8:- The Bar Scan Options will contract back to current selection. At which point the Bar Scan PB will work again.

+1 Rad Alt...I get it a lot.

Why don't they (ED) look into adding the landbase ils option? Let's be realistic here.. this is just a representation of the Aircraft.... it is not modelled exactly like the real aircraft, they (ED) are not allowed. So a feature like adding the land based ILS (which some Countries have) would be nice and would not distract from the simulation/atmosphere.

Found a fix for the bug I am seeing.. 1:- Shutdown DCS and open your dcs.log. Located somewhere like this.. C:\Users\yourpcname\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Logs\dcs.log 2:- Search for any errors that are related to loading a *.lau script. e.g. EDCORE: Can't execute Lua file C:\Users\yourpcname\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Scripts\Export.lua - can't open 'C:\Users\yourpcname\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Scripts\Helios\HeliosExport.lua' 3:- Comment out that script line in the lau file, as it is not running away ... mine was in the export.lua file. e.g --dofile(lfs.writedir()..'Scripts\\Helios\\HeliosExport.lua') 4:- restart DCS and all was working again.

Nothing to do with this.... there is a port or three blocked to the Eagle Dynamic area when using IINET or Eagle Dynamic is blocking IINET ip's... I could not even get to the web address https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/ when using any browser. I tried multiple resets, Power cycles of all equipment, dnsflush, dns change, IP change, different computers, laptops or tablets. Funny thing was tracert worked fine... and using the IINET 4G worked ok... it is just when using a landline (FTTP) for me. Good luck. I was with IINET, so I waited a couple of days... then emailed support waited another 24 hours... then connected to a another ISP's... this part took 1 hour to connect to the new ISP and get up and running... :0. Next day canceled IINET. Problem solved.

I had the same issue and sent heaps of info.. Tracert...ip's.... Rather than fight the tech help muppets... I changed to Aussie broad band... Took less time than it would to wait on the phone.

I have not had this bug... did you run the "throttle warthog calibration (v1.07).exe" ? and load the file A10JoystickCalibration.txt? Then is the standard windows calibration after that ?

Usually buy early to help out... But can get you burnt... So then I don't fly them. Yes you MI-8/Huey... Multiplayer crew not up to scratch.
