After all the waiting to get P-47D and they said wait so they can get it right.....YEA it's finally here...the one thing I laughed about is the fact their default yellow checkered P-47D which is GEORGIOUS has two US insignia's on the bottom wing where there should only be ONE!! It's a small thing I know. One on the top and one on the bottom that's it. Hoping for some new skins that don't have this!:pilotfly::pilotfly:

  4. More of the same type technique from another source using P-51D which could also work with a P-47. I think it ts something that is from another pilots video.... proof there is something to it. It sure beats getting smoked AI after AI with no direction toward fighting. ...AND...
  5. Good dog fighting go by Watched a great dogfighting video from Phil Styles who was swatting down AI left and right. I'm not at good at it AT ALL and need help, so my question came from this very video. I had noticed in horizontal turn fighting his flaps were maybe at 10% most of the time vs "do not use them at all" methods. P-47 labeled as a zoom and boom type fighter and me getting stuck in turns or up/down fights....this got me to ask the question. Waggs himself had commented a month before on this video on the P-47's wobbling nose while heavy elevator use and if he is watching Phil's video then I take Phil's methods as valid!!
  6. You may start in a boom and zoom surprise attack, all good and well but eventually it will end up with someone in a horizontal turn fight or a vertical up and down fight. My question is about the combat flaps! For a horizontal turn fight, when and how much do you use your flaps? In a vertical up/down fight when and how much do you use your flaps?
  7. How can I make a formation where I am any spot but lead plane so I can follow? P-47 has an instant mission in free flight where you are the number 3 plane in a 3-ship formation so I know it can be done. Any advise?

  9. Putting all my hopes on the up and coming water injection to give me the speed I am needing. I have individually placed sliders for the throttle, propeller control and booster levers so I can control as best I can my MP, RPM, heat and speed as per specs. Still I find the FW and 109s all over me and around me. I need more speed even if it is for 10 minutes MAX! Diving gives me some speed but I find I was too far away even with good height advantage to get there in time. A spark in the accelerator when I hit the gas sound like just what I need. " when I say go ..I MEAN GO!!
  10. Just curious, S.O.P. a dive maneuver doesn't that leave you at a low altitude to do much of anything but a long climb resulting in time enough for Germans to catch up, still be on your 6 and attack from a height advantage?

Needing a exterior custom view that I can save as a "default view" that comes up on one click for like a LShift+F4 type command that I can bind to Warthog to look at my 6'Oclock!! it's like this........ in a P-47 or P-51 its tough enough to engine manage in a dogfight. Now imagine the tracers are shooting past my canopy from behind....just where is he... how far back?? What I have now is... LShift+F4+Num6 (6 times) to spin around to see my 6 O'colck??? BY THEN YOU ARE TOAST! I need a quick look back to assess and execute what I am going to do. OH ya... all while I am still busy engine managing to keep up or get away from a FW or Messerschmitt that all ways seems to fly faster than me, I can live with that! Just give me a chance with a quick check 6. Please advise. Thanks

  13. English keyboard...yes, admin rights....yes. Got the buttons on RS Mapper to respond and set up a button on my Warthog. I programed a key to start (trigger on press) and when flipped finish (trigger on release) on another key....YEA!! 1 warthog button up and down!! Now sequencing first keystroke shift+F4 delay ms?? start time...duration ms?? Second keystroke NUM 6 delay ms?? start time...duration ms?? The program executes the F4 but no rotation. please advise. By the way..... Thank you for compleating ThrustMasters work on programing buttons. Gayle
  14. Fixed Worrying about the default keyboard f12 for the IR5 then bind that f12 to the Warthog....NO...when the answer was just hit the Warthog button wanted for centering. That was it! Sometime simple is just TOO hard!
  15. Can not get IR5 to center in DCS. Been told use RSMaper, used it, mapped out a key and Warthog didn't do the key....GREAT. Been told change to F13 to whatever using code. I don't know code. I had an IR5 it broke and was sent a new one last week. Also had a TM analogue Cougar, which I upgraded to a Warthog combo, but with the old TM Cougar it was easy to get IR5 center working no problem. Now anything I attach IR5 centering to and a DCS keystroke I get the DCS keystroke and no IR5 centering. Called Natural Point who sent me the IR5 last week and they sad they don't know DCS and cant help there. Why is this a Problem?? :doh: PLease advise. Thanks.

Adding 1 keystroke ot Warthog Hello Avantar, Trying to get started with the RSMapper to assign just 1 key for Thrustmaster Warthog which is not in the DCS game keystrokes currently available for the P-47D. I AM wanting this keystroke to center the Natrual Point IR5 in the DCS game. Atached is a screen shot of the RSMapper 'TRIGGER ACTION PAGE" with that "]" key assigned....I Thought.... No not right. PLease advise. Thank you, Gayle
  17. Trying to get the Thrustmaster Warthog to bind Track IR5 (CENTER....F!2) so I can center the IR5 in DCS. The keyboard F12 will center me but when I try to use the F12 after binding I get an airport ground unit. The enclosed picture shows the Adjust control box ...says Ithe IR5 will not take commands when I select the column to bind. I was trying to use Num5 to center in this example. Please advise.
  18. I did that and it responded to trim commands and flew better. I then replugged in the Warthog and the plane started to drift again and not respond in flight to trim tabs adjusting eventhough I could see the trim tabs moving on the surfaces. Did your joystick get an effect after you unplugged and replugged in??I wrote Thrustmaster on this. We will see what they say. One thing is the jets trim I can trim out flight. Why the prop planes won't I don't know.
  19. No autopilot asked for, just trim! As mentioned earlier in a pervious responders reply on a Spitfire seen mod to address trim adjustment. Is there a way to adjust in a mod or file for P-47 and P-51 because both could use it. As I said before 3 - 5 seconds ONLY of stable hands off flight would be wonderful....that's not asking much! Since prop driven planes don't have the luxury of an autopilot as their jet brothers do, a trim that WORKS for seconds before a constant micromanaged stick input is required would be a blessing. Do you agree??
  20. I have applied the keystrokes for cheat to start on the plane. It takes over, does everything except get the plane started and running. It bumps the prop it spins 4 times around and stopes. Any advice? Please... no It takes me 10 seconds to start. Just want the cheat to work. Thank you
  21. Actually I didn't have rudder trim bond into my HOTAS so I did. It made no difference for elevator trim which is my original problem and the little bit of aileron that was also off it had no effect on too. You mentioned you can go a minute without input after slight trimming….impressive! Mine is not at all! therefore my original problem exists. I see the trim tabs moving but constant stick input required to maintain level flight (no speed increase or engine changes invoked).
  22. Problem solved! Problem fixed guns in mission editor set to 0% and no shots fired at me and I downed the JU-88...KILLED that rear gunner!! Now I will adjust up from 0% to get a little fight back, I don't want a pitty kill. Thanks for the help!!!
  23. Yes but I am flying level!! no change in speed, no engine adjustments at all. The at best I said 2 seconds but really it is constant stick adjustment...I would be totally happy at 3-5 seconds before slight adjustment is needed in level flight-constant speed seninerio. I've been flying DCS for 10 plus years from LOMAC on with 7 planes 2 helos. I am no expert and can be taught a thing or two... maybe three but it seems to me that the trim adjustment needs a little more added. Just my opinion. Thanks
  24. Trying to get the P-47D trimmed in and have the adjust control popup adjust all my trims and bind to my HOTAS for the ailerons and elevator. YES...they do go up and down both outside on the wings and inside the cockpit on the trim box...yea. They just don't go far enough to totally trim out the bird. I've tried it from cockpit trim box and HOTAS individually but still not rock steady hands off for more than 2 seconds at best. It is almost there! Anyone else noticed this too?

So pissed at a certain self created one plane mission lone JU-88 rear gunner (on average setting) kicking my P-47’s butt when I zoom down from 2000 feet above and behind... thinking I am all that! Maybe… I am zooming down from too far back and gives that little @#%** time to find me before I settle down to shoot close up. All know is as I close in to shoot the light show is on my canopy I can’t see anything but his hits and the next thing I know I’m going down….DAMN!!!!!!! Over and over and over. Guess I need to join the Coast Guard! Any advise on shooting what should be easy foe?
