I have the ATFLIR mounted and attempt to manually set the Level and Gain as I have often done. I unbox the ALG and then select AG to set the Level and Gain. Regardless of which buttons I press next to level or gain to increase or decrease the values, they drop to zero and stay there. I need to revert to ALG to be able to use the IR sensors on the ATFLIR. I am running the MT version in VR. This happened while on a multiplayer server over multiple sessions.

Hi, I have the 7950X3D, 64 GB of DDR5 RAM, 4090 GPU, etc. I have no issues with DCS. Eagle Dynamics have core scheduling built into DCS so I no longer need to set affinity (I use Process Lasso) for DCS. I still do set affinity for my VR headset (Varjo Aero) and all other processes though. I put the VR related processes on the better performing CCD to (in theory) optimize performance. I have posted videos of my time in DCS VR using this system (pretty much all of the videos this year and on) so you can always have a peek at them. I play around with settings still to tweak my experience. I'm very happy with the results. I'm happy to answer questions which you may have. https://www.youtube.com/@StrIIker-TV

You just need to create waypoints as target points. In the strike Eagle this means that the waypoint number needs a period '.' after it (i.e. 10. will make waypoint 10 a target point. You can then select that point and push it to the JDAM. I don't think The Way has this ability currently. I made a video using a different program to demonstrate how it works. I think The Way could manage to add this feature at some point in the future if Comrade Dodge wants to but it will take some interaction from you to identify which points are supposed to be targets (To repeat, this to my knowledge is not currently in The Way). EDIT: Actually, if you want, you can use the way to input the targets as waypoints and then in the aircraft, change each waypoint to a target point using the Up Front Controller which is pretty easy to do.

In-Game Scratchpad Mod Available - Works Great In VR!
Str][ker replied to Fubarbrickdust's topic in Virtual Reality
@VirusAM Yes! I forgot about the issue with no waypoints! For the JDAMs video, I created the basic mission but never added a waypoint in the mission editor. This resulted in Scratchpad + mod failing to enter in data. Once I set a waypoint in the mission editor, it populated as 1A in the Strike Eagle and then scratchpad+mod worked. This could be the issue as well! (so many little things!) -

There has not been any change which should impact how this works. You may have been trying to edit an active waypoint which causes this to fail as you can't edit your currently selected steerpoint. You also can't edit existing target points using this method. Also, needing to select Menu 1 is no longer needed as Draken35 updated the mod to handle this. I recommend picking some number as the starting waypoint. Let's say 50. Use the key mentioned to insert that into the scratchpad display and then edit the # symbol to 50. Press return to start a new line. Then add a couple of waypoints using scratchpad. Edit each # spot to add a period after it. This ensures it's a target point. Then perform the import. I also made a new video of the F-15E Strike Eagle to demonstrate how to configure JDAMs. In it I demonstrate using Scratchpad plus the mod to create waypoints and automatically enter them. Have a look at it if you are still uncertain. So. Do not add steerpoints or target points which will overwrite your currently selected steerpoint (default is 1A). Do not overwrite existing Target points. You need to delete them first (and do not have one which you are attempting to delete, set as the active steerpoint). If you adhere to these requirements, you should be good to go. Lastly, did you install the latest version of the mod? And a later update to it here.. (you need the original mod as well.. this just updates it) -

You should check the video which I made to demonstrate Scratchpad with the mod. I provide step-by-step instructions for installing it all as well. If you can follow those steps, you should be golden. The video was linked in one of my earlier posts here. -

The files are constantly saved. If you don't clear the page, it is there the next time you load up Scratchpad. -

One possible way (I think) is to save to separate pages in scratchpad. I seem to recall that there is a way to do this and then you can use different pages. Use one for mission 1 then a second page for mission 2. Presumably you could have several text files in the scratchpad directory and swap between them as needed. I have never done this but it might do what you are looking for. Check the Scratchpad git page for details around multiple pages.. https://github.com/rkusa/dcs-scratchpad -
In-Game Scratchpad Mod Available - Works Great In VR!

If you fly VR, this modded version of Scratchpad is definitely what you want to use! I made a video about using this modded version of Scratchpad recently (referenced a page or two back) where I demonstrate this. It's super easy and much better for VR than The Way. I was using The Way in conjunction with the original scratchpad to enter coordinates into DCS (made a video about that too a month or so ago) because I was unaware of this mod. Now this is all I need and use. Make sure that you also grab the updated file from Draken35 to update the modded version. -
In-Game Scratchpad Mod Available - Works Great In VR!

It works very well. I actually demonstrate this in the video which I made for this amazing add-on. In it I use this modded version of scratchpad to grab the coordinates of 8 parked bombers at an airbase and then have them entered for me into the aircraft as 8 new waypoints. It's blazingly fast! I then use these waypoints to program 8 x 500lb JDAMs and then fly to the base to ripple all 8 off to their targets. As for Voice attack, you can use voice attack to send any key combinations which you want so with the mod, you would want to assign hot keys for toggling Scratchpad open / closed and for selecting the coordinates on the map when grabbing waypoints. I think though that you will still need to manually click the button to load them to the aircraft which in my opinion is just fine as it's not something to be done too often. A trackball is great for VR if you have one or if you want to splurge, ask Santa for a Razer Tartarus V2. It's great for these kids of hot key actions. -
Bombs dropping in auto mode simply doesn´t work
Str][ker replied to DST's topic in Bugs and Problems
My understanding is that there is a bug with respect to the ASL. This happens to me now and then. When it happens, there is nothing which I can do to fix it other than load up a new jet and hope for the best. I have had it work with a load of 8xGBU-12’s flawlessly and the next day, I get the ASL error with it off to the far right or left (mostly left to my memory). I have a target designated, I have area track and the ASL is stuck to the side. I tried moving the track a little and the designation but still stuck. Not so has mentioned this but in the Discord a few times and it has been discussed there a lot as well. -

Thanks! I know that the majority of questions can get answered by reading the instructions which most don't do. I get it, people get impatient and want to have fun already but that frustration and delay can be prevented with 2 minutes of reading so I try to emphasize reading it. -

I made this video to help out with getting, configuring and using Scratchpad and this mod. These both make life so much better in DCS. -

This is EXACTLY what I was doing wrong! Thank you for both taking the time to create this and share it with us all as well as helping me out. I'm working on a video to demonstrate this amazing bit of work which you did to improve upon Scratchpad! I had been using The Way plus Scratchpad to kludge together something which works for VR then someone mentioned what you had here and it's so much better! Keep up the great work! -
In-Game Scratchpad Mod Available - Works Great In VR!
Str][ker replied to Fubarbrickdust's topic in Virtual Reality
Hi! I am certain that I am having a case of the noobz with entering waypoints into the Strike Eagle. I hop onto menu1 in a cold start jet (once everything is running) and when I transfer to the jet, everything falls apart in the scratchpad once it rolls from 1A to 2A. It just sits on 2 and continually tries to press buttons and flashes an error state. I don’t try to do anything else, just grab some points and transfer. Do I need to modify the first waypoint on scratchpad in order to make it work? Thanks in advance. -
Okay, I see the issue. It looks like deleting the waypoints using the little trashcan will only delete the waypoint and not modify the naming sequence. This on the surface makes sense as you don't want to restart the sequence if you delete a waypoint in the middle of the stack. i.e. Waypoints 1,2,3,4 exist and you delete waypoint 2, the next waypoint can't be waypoint 1 (resetting the sequence) nor can it be waypoint 2 (adding in missing numbers). It must continue from the last waypoint entered and be named waypoint 5. I think this behavior makes the most sense. What probably needs to be added is a button to delete all waypoints which will reset the enumeration. What does work is deleting waypoints using the hotkey which was added to aid VR users. CTRL-SHIFT-D deletes all waypoints AND resets the waypoint naming counter. I would suggest using this key sequence for now to delete all waypoints until a UI solution (a delete all button) is introduced. Mentioning @Comrade Doge for followup.

Well yes the mod will work for single player or for servers which do not enforce pure clients. If you are just playing single player then you should be all set!

Awesome work! Thank you for pulling this together! The issues with deleted waypoints is fixed! That was a big one. The issue with the checkbox "Don't Ask Again" is still present. I tried multiple times, selecting the box and then Confirming the transfer but if I tell it to enter some more waypoints, I have to drop out to the desktop and confirm again. This is obviously not a deal breaker but it would be great if we could get this implemented some day as it would help smoothen out the work flow for VR pilots. Thank you once again for making this and getting the other bug(s) fixed.

Which post details this? I have seen that he intends to fix the issue with respect to how previously deleted waypoints are still imported. I submitted a bug report on this as well. I have not seen mention of how the system will import waypoints twice as I detailed above. Also, I was submitting specific means of reproducing the problem to help with the bug fixes.
