  1. While playing around with this, I noticed that there are additional sounds not getting routed to the configured sound device. While in the cockpit, no voice warnings and no warning sounds go to the requested sound device. So it's just engine sounds and weapon release sounds so far which go where I want the sound to go. It seems that the setting in DCS with the select sound output doesn't really do much for some reason. The missing sounds do show up on the default sound device though (i.e. desktop).
  2. Hello, I like to record my flying sessions and separate the various sounds to individual audio channels via virtual audio devices. I noticed an issue when trying to route the sounds from DCS to a different sound input. I can get all of the in-game sounds (aircraft, weapons, etc) to play through my desired sound input with the exception of the in-game voices (things like the player calling inbound to a carrier and the responses from ATC). It seems that these sounds only play out the default device. I've verified the setting in DCS AND the Windows audio playback device per application to ensure that DCS is to use only the specified device. So when I add the various audio channels (I use separate ones for Voice Attack (Vaicom Pro chatter), SRS (separate for SRS main communications and one for my voice), and DCS) I hear everything as it should be but no in-game voice communications from the game. The only way to get this is to record the default audio but I don't want other desktop audio traffic to be recorded. Is this something which can be looked at? So, I have all settings in DCS and Windows to use Cable A for output but only in-game voice comms from the player and computer don't get routed through it.

  4. I did try Marking Mom's and that didn't work. I tried carrier inbound and that had the same result where it does not fully state the inbound information. I have only been attempting this on a Super Carrier. All other calls work when I am interacting with the Carrier ATC (CASE I and CASE III). The only thing which doesn't is the initial inbound call and it's annoying. I submitted a support request to the email provided by Vaicom Pro but I never received any acknowledgement or answer so I guess they aren't actively supporting this product any more? Lastly, I own all modules in Vaicom Pro and I also own Super carrier in DCS. I think this is a minor bug to be addressed as it's mostly cosmetic. I just like to hear the full call while flying and when I record my flying, it sounds crappy when it's just numbers being read so I sometimes resort to using the Options voice command to step through the communications menu to do a proper inbound call.

When I am in an F-18 and have the aircraft carrier channel selected and I use the Vaicom Pro command "inbound", the voice which plays only states the specifics such as fuel, altitude, etc. It does not read the full text which is played when I use the menu. The full text is still displayed though. The voice is different sounding as well. Example: The text will read "Marshal, 301, Marking mom's 248, angels 3.0, flight of 2, low state 5.9." The voice will only say "301, 248, 3.0 5.9" or something along those lines. Is there a way to get the full statement in voice? Thanks in advance
  6. I have a quick question. I was under the impression that Simshaker for Aviators was driven by telemetry from DCS for different aircraft. I based this upon discussions had around efforts to get it working with the Apache module when it was released. Someone else recently told me that it's driven by sound cues in the game and not telemetry. Which one is true? Thanks in advance!
  7. This happens to me as well. On Multi-player, when I die (rare as it is ) and switch to a new player view, I often crash with the above experience.. I hear the sounds but the game is frozen. It can also happen when I am flying and I get curious to see other players and hit F2. Most of the time it's fine but some times it crashes. It's as if it crashes when it has to quickly load new display data. I have a 3090ti, NVMe storage, 32 GB RAM, etc. I'll open a new thread with logs. This also happened on my previous card (2080ti). I've done full (slow clean, rebuild etc). I am always in a Hornet.. happens on various maps.
  8. Thanks @Supmua! I've read through the thread finally and appreciate your insights and effort. SO are you using SteamVR Beta plus Reshade 5 now? What settings do you use in Reshade? I recall that you can choose different plugins and then adjust levels and I was wondering what works for you as you have really spoken highly of Reshade. Do you still use Varjo base to run at a higher resolution and just leave it at that or are there other settings as well?
  9. Quick question for those who know.. Do I need to use steam VR to fly DCS on the Aero? I'm also using the OpenXR / Toolkit stuff which works well (\D3DCompiler_47*.* b)files: opencomposite.ini and openvr_api.dll). OpenXR is on and OpenVR is off in Vario Base. I was told that I need to include the "--force_steam_VR" command line switch but then I saw someone else say I don't need Steam VR. I'll dig around in this thread to see if I missed the answer to this in case someone else said it already. Thanks in advance all!
  10. To be clear, this was completely separate from DCS. For example, I rebooted my system and didn't start anything else.. When Varjo Base loaded (it's sort of like Varjo's version of Steam VR in a way), it would fail to detect the headset.
  11. FYI I have a Varjo Aero and I found that when I used the global install option, the Varjo Base software could no longer detect the headset (gave that error -2 message). I reverted back to the Steam VR (via the installer) and just did the per app install and it's fine.
  12. @nikoel, Will you update the initial page when the issues are ironed out with the new version of this (but leave the original content for those who want to use the old way)? The current version is working and I am happy to wait a few more days for the dust to settle on the new one but I don't know where to look to find details around getting it to work. Thanks again for the guide! It really helped me! (are you going to do another guide?)
  13. I did a full clean / repair using the DCS updater with the command switches. I am not familiar with clearing out fxo and metashaders though. (side note based upon another comment someone made: I am on a G2).
  14. - I have been having Crash To Desktop happening to me as well while using this. - I have noticed an odd radius while flying over water where the textures of the water up close are odd. There is a defined ring in the water around my aircraft while flying. - My CRT's in the Hornet suffer occasionally with odd graphic glitches - Looking to the side can cause stuttering - I had to force Reprojection locked to 45 to avoid severe lag when flying near other players, particularly bad when approaching an airfield. - Using the zoom / spyglass in VR would cause sever lag. Locking Reprojection to 45 helped fix this.
  15. This does not require Steam, in fact, that's the whole point of using this tool as it removes the need for running through Steam.
  16. I'm trying training mission 2 and do as instructed to start taxiing. I roll forward and the turn towards the runway. There is never a point where the instructor tells me what to do next. I rolled all the way to the runway and down it bit with nothing said. I try pressing spacebar and I don't get anything. Any advice on what I may be doing wrong or missing here? This is VR (if it matters)
  17. For JDAM / JSOW weapons, I cannot make use of more than 1 program for a single target. - Using targeting pod (Lighting) , identify ground target and designate using TDC depress. This sets TOO1 for the selected weapon correctly. Switch to TOO2 and the co-ordinates from the target are listed already. Slewing the target pod does not update TOO2 target coordinates. If I select designate on a new target, it will update TOO2 to the new target however it also replaces TOO1's target coordinates. If I select undesignate, the TOO1/TOO2 both lose their target. This renders having two programs for TOO (TOO1 and TOO2) fairly useless. Various videos have demonstrated how to use TOO1 and TOO2 to target multiple impact points. Similarily, multiple impact points just based upon station number was possible and a total of 8 could be individually targeted using a comination of station and TOO1/TOO2). None of the methods in these videos work any more. Wags had mentioned in his video posted June 2, 2020 that we would be able to target multiple impact points for our JDAMS in TOO (Video link included at correct time stamp). This functionality which Wags mentioned did get put in ( as evidenced by instructional videos from other users) but is now broken / removed? Are there any plans to fix / restore this? Thanks!
  18. I am new to DCS multi-player. I am experiencing this constantly in DCS multiplayer any time the server resets or if I crash and need to select my role. As soon as the aircraft loads and I am in the cockpit, the lags is severe. It feels like I get 5 fps as I move my head. It seems to always seems to happen when I see the VR loading screen for DCS after being on the server (happens at server reset for example). I have been exiting the game and then restarting but have not tried the alt-tab method. I will try it out and edit this message accordingly. I have only been flying the F-18. I have a Reverb G2, EVGA 2080Ti card, high end NVMe drive etc. EDIT: I ran into the issue of severe lag after a server reset and tried the alt-Tab to desktop. When I clicked back to the game window the issue was resolved. Thanks! Hopefully this gets addressed at some point.
  19. This has been a great discussion covering things I am interested in. Two questions: 1) Can a track recorded on a server be used to see the replay from inside an aircraft? I am trying to record a good track in VR so that I can replay it with my wife wearing the headset to see what it's like in the game. Each time I make a track, it becomes desynced at some point. I could run a server, record to it and then copy the track file to my PC and then see if it works. I will try it but wanted to know if anyone would know an answer first. 2) Someone mentioned it's a frame rate issue which I can confirm through experimentation (the track is more reliable as my framerate improves). Is it the recording of inputs or the playback that requires good framerates? If it's the recording, I could drop a lot of settings, take off, fly around and lad and then bump up settings for the playback. If it's the playback, well I guess I am out of luck. I can get some tracks to last pretty long but eventually they fail and my plane crashes. I'll try to reply here with my findings.
  20. What was your solution? I haven't had luck switching to all of the tabs. Some seem to work while others don't.. This sounds like the same issue you were having.
  21. I have a mission which starts on a carrier cold and dark. I start up, taxi, launch etc. without issue. When I want to watch the track., all seems okay but when it comes time for the wheel chocks to be removed, it would appear that this does not happen in the replay. I do not hear the request nor see the response for wheel chock removal. When my pilot (in the replay) starts to taxi, the jet is stuck in place (wheel chocks are still there). I am playing in VR and am using Voice Attack with Vaicom Pro to request the wheel chock removal.
  22. In the training mission for the latest openBeta, I cannot select the TCN in the left VDI. It will not box up. Pressing TCN on the UFC also doesn't work correctly either. Following the instructions doesn't work for this training mission.
