GUIDE / INFO : DCS Updater Usage, Version Numbers, Module IDs
corvey replied to SkateZilla's topic in General Tutorials
for the thread... This single command line put me back in the game with the previous version: DCS_Updater.exe update 2.9.5.55918 At least I can fly something. YAY... The new version is crashing my system. -

Just get it over with already! The best place IS Las Vegas, Nevada. What happens in Las Vegas stays in Las Vegas. Hmmmmm didn't a bunch of those guys go there recently? Uhhhh NEVERMIND! I'm not gonna ask...Don't even want to know.

Seems like this thread is being made to be out of context now with the deleted comments. Ugggg. Guess I'll sign up to discord. UGGGG

I agree again, Notso. I personally never liked Jester in my F14, it kind of ruined it for me, that and I couldn't switch back into the the back seat multiplayer really turned me off the module, though they fixed the seating position since then. Number one reason I don't want the Phantom. The F15-E gave me peace of mind knowing I could control my Cadillac in sky the way I wanted to fly. The AI CO-pilot can be omitted entirely for all I care and at the very least optionally DISABLED. The Sniper Pod is the highest priority on the list for me anyway. And hey, Notso, I Never got around to saying thanks for the Youtube tutorial videos. Thanks man, they've been helpful and I appreciate it.

Gotcha, his testimony would be thrown out of court as irrelevant. I highly doubt it, but whatever you say, it's your case. When digging in the deep wide web of things searching for answers people tend to uncover a LOT of stuff. Instinctively, most people want to know the truth and not spoon fed a bunch of bull____. We've invested a lot time and purchased a lot from ED. We deserve to know the truth.

Nineline, are you saying CptSmiley from the official Razbam dev team did not utter those exact words? I'll be more than happy to delete that if its a FAKE excerpt from CptSmiley and even apologize for posting it.

I agree, Notso. I've been flying DCS modules since 2011 and never encountered jacking around with the date or AV to get any of my modules to work before. So yeah, SkateZilla clearly proves a fact for which Ron chose not to participate in any sales, and yet here we are looking at the ED store page with the SE and all of Razbam's modules for sale. Even Razbam's website removed forwarding links to sell said products. That in itself is indeed disrespectful. That and the fact that several users and CMs here are continuing to say the module is still flyable which personally offends me because the RADAR system IS the bread and butter of the SE and without that the SE is a totally useless module. I stumbled across this on another forum and thought it was a really good source of informational insight. . If this is fake please let me know and I'll delete it. It just goes to show how simplistic an algorithm can be if this > that can do nothing ELSE radar code.

"Time bombs are malicious code used to execute functions after an elapsed time has passed to damage or destroy itself or other software infrastructures." Correct. Maliciously set for 6 months to self destruct the radar function while I'm in flight when I'm most unaware it's about to happen. Why not set it for infinity to avoid such problem, they knew this happened in January, seem too convenient to do it again, no lesson learned then? They certainly haven't been updating anything else other than to protect their code knowing business was about to go south. Preemptive strike if you will. This is irresponsibly dangerous to tamper with my flight system like that. I could die. I did not know this "feature" existed and there should be a disclaimer of such, instead all I read on Razbam's website was the radar was highly detailed and modeled. I had no idea the military had expiration kill switches in their plane while in flight and could black out at any moment on a certain date. FLYER BEWARE! Do you see situational observation now?

"We want to reaffirm our unwavering commitment to this exceptional community, our current customers, and prospective clients. Unfortunately, due to circumstances completely beyond our control, we are temporarily unable to continue our work at this time." Implementing a time bomb in the radar system code is beyond your control, Razbam? Seriously? Holding the F15-E radar code hostage sounds more like a terrorist threat against an "exceptional community" instead of a coincidental bug to me. I keep holding on resisting the refund route hoping you all pull your head out of your assess and resolve this for the good of all mankind and go out in a blaze of glory instead of infamy. It's hard to believe I'm witnessing career suicide here, but I am if this doesn't work itself out. Does this refund exception policy offer expire? I hope not, because I don't want to miss that chance if this needs to happen...

ME seeing the F-4E Phantom's radar

Without that sweet radar code it is dead. I was under the impression that ED said this wouldn't happen again after Hawk (which is on my account I can't use any more) and would require the source code from 3rd parties to prevent it from happening again. So I am, um, confused on why this is happening again.

Deliberate Cockpit Sabotage

Playing in 4k, I can tell you that distinguishing from a from a spec of dust and a single pixel plane on a 55" screen is near impossible and 99 times out of 100 it's the former. This spotting issue has been an issue for me for long time. The new spotting feature was SPOT ON! Make it even better with toggles on and off with size sliders for solo and multiplayer servers! This will please everyone! Is has been needed for a long time! THANKS!

Now that I think about it, it seems like I remember that issue back in 2019 with the F18, which is around the last I time played that module. Somebody hand me a joint, I think I'll do better at remembering trivial stuff. LOL @ Kercheiz So yeah, for the past couple months, I've gotten back into DCS after being MIA for a few years to let the rest of the modules mature, to deal with life, working, etc... To help out with the 15 Years celebration I bought a few more modules and terrains to keep development going strong. It seems like yesterday playing Blackshark and A10C in around 2010/2011ish for me, fun times. To my surprise, the F15E finally came out after all these years, and wow, I'm stoked. Those avionics, man, I've been craving those for years! That was a surefire sale for me. The HRM and TF, great job, a little CPU taxing and could use some CPU optimization tweaking with the threads, but all in all I'm proud of you guys for that job, it is so cool. And now those radar JDAMS, icing on the cake. We just need sprinkles and candles now Now back to the derailed topic of wings and make it little more SPICY... The most bummer part about THIS module is, I'll tell ya, I'm forced to fly like I'm flying an eggshell made in China. The MPD/INS failures at a rapid rate are a penalization for the simple joy of making consumers suffer? THE, to set an example of, WHAT, how cheap American F15E Jets are, made in China now? This is more like Deliberate Cockpit Sabotage than Digital Combat Simulator to me and not just me, there are others, they're just too chicken (no mudhen pun intended) to comment on it. To thoroughly learn something while debugging it must first be defined as an absolute. Take away the secondary failures and BS with toggles, cater to the consumer who wants to train and learn in a certain way by using the real defined functions of the jet. Some people can't help YOU properly test a function of the craft if they're being impeded by failure algorithms. I want to fully become an expert at using the craft before being annoyed with BS tacked on. While I'm not an expert, just a casual user with many paid modules over the years, I think, in my opinion, as a consumer, I should be able to fly this bird however I want to, whether it's to train and practice all day long, debug game functions for the community, fly ACE COMBAT style -- which is kinda what the foreseeable future is looking like now on modded servers -- or to play in true DCS fashion; not that other F15E initialism. I hope to continue to fire up these virtual jets, take off, and blow some s**t up with the remainder of my life left and whenever I can afford the free time. This topic is only a placeholder in time to make everything better so in a couple of years WHEN/IF I/WE come back it'll be the best it can be, or not. And as to the skillless "Senior Dumas" comment coming from a real F15E WSO pilot bashing a common peon in America, well, I think that was Notso smart. It's definitely bias and an uneven playing ground on the forums, just so you know. I hope to randomly see you on the battlefield/in the skies one day to knock you off your hobbie horse, but oh wait, I guess that won't ever happen because I won't be playing on "integrity checked" DCS servers anymore due to gimped F15Es, shucks!. It's all good man and humorous in every way. Keep up the good work Razbam, I hope it turns out better in the coming years. PEACE !!!

You're telling me a HOT plane isn't already aligned and this screen text is being cutoff from INS alignment. That's what you're saying, CORRECT? I've been trying to reproduce it to nail the problem but you seem to think it's my error and that's great if true, I'll start doing more realigns if that's the case. I'm only a casual flyer dude and am by no means an expert for sure. Thanks

Ace Combat. LOL Now that's funny. Cool. After I found about the F10 Ghost Eagle earlier this morning, then by all means don't change a thing!
