2080TI is meant for VR, and driving 1440P.
-
Well you are using a GPU designed for driving a 1080P monitor, and you are asking it to drive a 1440p. What do you expect? Not being a jerk, just saying. Asking more of your hardware than it was optimized for.

Negative. We have a U.S. f-16. Gold in canopy goes back to the 60’s for anti radiation among other things. We still have gold canopies. Look at pics of US f-22’s and f-35’s, gold canopies. What other countries do is of no concern as our viper is a US model.

He put out a quick start guide for the JF-17.

Good call. I regularly delete shaded files. I always forget to do terrain shaders.

I try.

It’s hilarious and very predictable that the same group that has a thread that is literally hundreds of posts long, discussing that the new viper must be authentic and true to the real thing, sometimes even frantically like a rabid foaming dog, immediately complain and ask for it to be switched back when the canopy is tinted true to real life. The same group that reports things like turn speed being off by 5 knots, or the breaks seeming to slow the plane down 15 feet longer than they think it should, cant stand a canopy that looks real. This is hilarious and unfortunately completely predictable.

NS430 / Flashlight Lens Color / Conflict?
KTFBGB replied to DerekSpeare's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Ya. -
Awesome! I’m glad you finally saw the light and got a high frame rate monitor. The specs on that monitor are very good and it should last you years before becoming obsolete and you won’t be bottle necking that too of the line GPU you are getting!

NS430 / Flashlight Lens Color / Conflict?
KTFBGB replied to DerekSpeare's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
OMG. Unless the binding in question is an axis, which it is not, it is a KEYBIND. The game sees axis commands and KEYBOARD COMMANDS. That button on your button box is bound to control a function. Have ever looked at the control setup screen in DCS? You know how next to the trigger command it says spacebar and then has empty slots next to it to bind the trigger command to your HOTAS, or rudders, or Button box? When you assign the trigger command to your HOTAS trigger, guess what? When you pull the trigger on the HOTAS, the program sees it as you pressing the spacebar. The external controller emulates the corresponding KEYBOARD BINDING. Doesn’t see HOTAS trigger, it sees space bar. Even though you never told it to bind space bar. It’s there by default. You 100% have a double bind somewhere. It does not matter if you ever bound the NS430 to anything. It has default binds placed by the program. You can argue all you want. If you assigned the button box to change the filter command, and then it doesn’t work but triggers a different command, in this case, something that is doing something with the NS430 GPS module, that means that it is bound to that function. You have to find it and delete it. Your other option is to go to your saved games file, and delete the input devices folder. Then rebind every aircraft you have. I would choose the easy one of just finding the double bind. That’s it. You have all the info you need. I’m done with this conversation. Good luck. There is a reason no one else is chiming in. There isn’t anything else to be done. -
NS430 / Flashlight Lens Color / Conflict?
KTFBGB replied to DerekSpeare's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Same answer. The button on the controller is bound to a keyboard command. That keyboard command is dual bound to the filter and to the ns430 General command. You have to change the key command to something else. No way around it. It how bindings work. You can keep the controller button, you have to change the bind. It’s not rocket science. You’re not going to get a different answer. If one function triggers 2 actions, one has to change. I can’t figure out how to explain it any simpler than that. -
Go ahead and create it. I would use it for sure.

You obviously chose a keybind for the filter that is associated with the ns430. NS 430 keybind to pull up the gps is system wide. So, change the key bind for the filter if you want it to work. There’s nothing else to say about it. Or you can find the corresponding ns430 bind and delete it. Those are your 2 options. -

Change the bind to a non conflicting button. -
Because if you want to know, they would be the ones to ask. ED will rightfully say that if it’s included in the patch, it will be on the change log.

Ask Deka

The 1080ti is made for driving 1080 monitors. It will underperform on higher resolution. Again. Asking hardware to do something it wasn’t designed for
-
 also don’t forget that either through user controls on your monitor or through Nvidia if you needed to you can lock the frame rate at sixty if it became a problem for you.I don’t think it will be a problem for you but that’s an option and then you have all of the built-in hardware in your new monitor to handle high frame rate stuff for other things as well as for DCS when they Finally switch to Vulcan

Other modules have a drop down selection for clean or dirty glass. I would guess it’s not too difficult? My main gripe was just the whole we need it more scratched so it’s more realistic and won’t break my immersion. Then videos were posted with pristine glass that was just dirty lol. Maybe he should be asking for a dirty glass option if he wants it more true to life. I guess he could be watching it on some crappy resolution screen too so the bugs and dirt may have looked like scratches. I too would enjoy more realistic dynamic shadows.

Glad you finally came to your senses :megalol:

Basically any gaming monitor you get will be better than the non gaming monitor you posted from Best Buy. If you want to avoid stuttering and have smooth game play then you have to go to 120 or 144. Folks may think they have smooth gameplay on 60hz until they play on a high refresh rate monitor. The difference is night and day. I have heard of micro stuttering with track iR but I have never experienced it. There are other factors to question with that. Like were they running the newest generation track Ir? Did they have it plugged into a USB 3.0? Did they have hardware capable of pushing the frame rates the monitor was capable of? Etc. Etc. Look at AOC gaming monitors. Look at the HP gaming monitors. You want 120hz min. Honestly with the hardware available its hard to tell the difference between 120 and 144. Look for Gsync. Capable, look for high nit rating. Look for low input lag (less than 5ms). Look for monitor controls like boost or Over clocking on the monitor. Stay away from 60hz. Stay away from any monitor that is advertised for work stations. The expensive work station monitors are made for graphic designers and professional use of photo shop and similar software where true color and fidelity are most important over performance. Made for different things than gaming.

You just showed pictures of condensation and bugs. Still no scratches. I watched both vids in full.
-
No. I use track IR. My max FPS is usually topped out at 90 with spikes up higher when flying at high altitude. I’ve never experienced anything weird from my track IR past 60fps. I certainly think you should get the card you are getting; no doubt. I’m building a rig in the next year and that’s the exact card that’s on my list. What I’m still not getting is spending that much money on a 60hz monitor. You can get a much better monitor, made for gaming, that has much more gaming features, over clocking on the monitor, better response times, much brighter nit rating, etc. for the same price. Put it on a arm mount if the screen doesn’t fill your field of view and pull it closer to you. That’s what I did. I have a 32” that I pull closer to me so that the monitor fills my whole fov. I’m just saying the 1600’vert. Resolution you are limiting yourself to really doesn’t make a lot a sense compared to other options out there.
