Is it technically possible to make base textures better?

Im not seeing what you see. I flew around PG for an hour and couldn't find any strange textures or blending. Here is what it looks like for me. -

Ok sweet.

I would guess no. The FC 3 aircraft are low fidelity. You get what ya pay for.

He’s using a 2070 Super. He can run ultra settings with that card with full AF and MSAA and hardly notice a difference. Or should be able to as long everything else is set properly. Unless something has changed in a month or so, you can not force post rendering outside the game. DCS overrides anything you set outside of the game as far AF and MSAA or FXAA are concerned. Several threads covering this topic.

Sounds good. -

There is something wrong there on your side. I have never seen any thing like that on any map. -
Those are different than what the Hornet carries. Our hornet only has unguided bomblets. There are no guided sub munitions that you describe like on the A-10. I don’t know if this is a weapon coming in the future, would depend if our Hornet ever carried it. Which I don’t know the answer too. But, our Hornet has not had anything like this yet. You are remembering a different weapon on a different platform.

VOLUNTEERS FOR AUDIO VOICES AV-8B HARRIER CAMPAIGN
KTFBGB replied to Hornet81's topic in Mission Editor
Count me in. I’d love to help. Harrier is one of my favorite modules. We need more campaigns! Have done some voice acting for other devs on here. American as for the accent. -
Download and save the latest GPU drivers to a folder on your desktop. Then run the DDU program. Just makes life a little easier. I can attest to MSI Afterburner causing problems also. Use the native OC software. Especially on new cards it seems like they are plenty because the cards just aren’t as over-clockable as they used to be. I would try turning down your GPU core clock by 50-100MHZ and drop your Memory clock by 20 and see what happens. What temps are your seeing on the GPU?
-
Just for reference, do you happen to have a running list? Could prove useful in helping folks trouble shoot in the future.
-
I would guess it’s because the water is on low and it appears that you are running zero MSAA, and zero AF from the looks of the edges of everything. You are rendering the absolute minimum amount of information so this seems like it may be normal? I’ve never tried anything but ultra on everything so I could be wrong.

This is how I understand it as well.

We will find out on Wednesday.

But the point is that with the exception of the UI outside of the simulation, there is no gold standard to be compared to. The other games may mimic things like weather, visibility, spotting, and ATC while DCS is trying to create the AI to actually simulate real life. They aren’t simply writing code that says if you are behind another plane make it bumpy. No, they simulate the actual particle behavior that takes into account all the parameters of the given situation and under human control are not likely able to be reproduced again because it’s dynamic and factors everything that’s happening in the sim at that time. They are trying to simulate weather to real life. Factoring in temp terrain wind humidity etc. Not just mimicking what weather may or may not look like. I don’t know of any game that does this and so how can there be a gold standard? It’s not ever been done before so there is nothing to compare it too.

Eastern Friendship - AV-8B Harrier Missions by Sedlo

Can’t wait! Running them in the morning. -
I started having issues similar to that. And other weird stuff with usb peripherals. I switched to a externally powered usb hub and all was good again. Hotas systems can get really weird if have a slight voltage drop and there is hardly any juice going to the onboard USB ports.

9700k is currently $10 cheaper than the 8700k on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Intel-i7-9700K-Desktop-Processor-Unlocked/dp/B07HHN6KBZ/ref=sr_1_3?crid=3A5AVGDIN7CBG&keywords=i7+8700k&qid=1567305519&s=gateway&sprefix=i7%2Caps%2C201&sr=8-3

You can find decent deals on i7 8700k with new mobo combo on Amazon a lot of the time. Upgrading the mobo will help “future proof” the system. It it was me and I was going to spend the money on a new cpu I would want the board. This will allow you to take advantage of new GPU’s as well in the future. But everyone’s situation is different.
-
If you upgrade to a new processor that you will be overclocking seriously consider a AIO water cooler for it. They aren’t that expensive and the colder you keep the processor the longer you can run at a higher clock.
-
If you rule everything else out I think you would benefit. Single core performance is king. Upgrading to the i7 8700k or 9700k would probably benefit you a lot. What Mobo do you have? Remember that you need a mobo with a 390 chipset to run the i7 or i9.

Frame rate is much less important than frame time. Frame time is largely dictated by your cpu. You can have frame rates in the 90’s and if frame times are long you can get stuttering so bad you can’t play, even though your FPS says 90.
