  1. Wow...that is nothing short of spectacular to watch! It looks very fun...
  2. Any way to do it without using a deactivation either?
  3. Aww nuts. I changed my Vista admin account to my user account and my user account to my admin account. It allowed me to run Shark on my user account, but now I can't log into my admin account anymore because Vista thinks I'm entering in my password incorrectly. Shoot... Is there any way I can reinstall my OS and not have to use another activation to play Black Shark?
  4. Hi, I have the English download version of Black Shark. I accidentally activated it on my Windows admin account. I'd like to be able to play it on my regular user account without having to use another activation. Is there any way this can be done?
  5. A 70-year-old simmer? Oh my... Bursco, have you tried setting your resolution and aspect ratio in the options menu for Black Shark? For your particular monitor, the ideal resolution would be 1680x1050, and the ideal aspect ratio would be 16:10. With these settings you would get almost the same number of vertical pixels, but far more horizontal pixels. The one difference is that your field of view on the left and right side of the screen would increase, effectively improving your peripheral vision in the game. This change would only affect Black Shark, not Windows. Sorry if I'm stating anything that's incredibly obvious to you, but I simply don't know how tech-savvy you are.
  6. Ah, there it is. Thanks a lot guys!
  7. Hi, I'd like to do a fresh install of Black Shark to see if I'll get an fps increase now that 1.0.1 is out. However, I'm unable to find my pilot profiles, campaign saves, and keyboard/ joystick input settings to back up before reinstalling. Could someone point me to their location?
  8. Go Sharky!!!
  9. Hmm, perhaps I should have posted this in the problems/bugs section. Would a moderator be so kind as to move it there?
  10. Screenshot taken in 1.0.1.
  11. Man, ED, you guys are awesome! Most developers only listen to their customer's suggestions if most or all of them suggest or complain about the same thing, but you guys actually listen to your individual customers! It makes me even more proud to support you by purchasing your products; you're down-to-earth and actually care about your individual customers' satisfaction. Salute!
  12. It appears to me that he's saying that he feels more effort was placed on development of the Shark's flight model and avionics(particularly the navigation avionics) than its weapon systems; that the weapon systems seem tacked on like hydraulics on a tricked-out car. He wonders why this is. Perhaps you, Ebodee, aren't familiar with such a complex combat-based sim? Keep in mind that navigation is an important part of flying, military or civilian, real life or sim. Also, the Shark isn't exactly state-of-the-art by today's standards; it was designed over two decades ago and as far as I know hasn't been upgraded much, if at all since then.
  13. LIEK DOOD I WAS LIEK BROWSING TEH FORUMS AND THEN I SAW TEH THREAD AND I WAS LIKE OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG WOOTWOOTWOOTWOOTWOOTWOOTWOOTWOOT AND THEN I LIEK DOWNLOADED TEH THING AND I PLAYED TEH GAME AND I LOADED TEH SHIP MISSION AND ALT+TABBED OUT AND BACK IN AND WAS LIEK WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks ED!
  14. Thanks guys, editing my SHKVAL_V.lua file worked. However, messing with the knob on the right side of the cockpit doesn't seem to change the slew speed at all. I haven't tried to see if I could notice any difference in the speed of the shkval automatically slewing, though, but this isn't of my concern. As for using an analog device to control the shkval, I don't have much of an option since my Saitek Cyborg Evo Force lacks any sort of secondary analog device. I suppose I could try using a second joystick, but it seems to me like that would ultimately be counter-intuitive since I'd need three arms to be able to use such a configuration effectively. Besides, increasing the speed of the shkval in the lua file seems to address the problem fairly well.
  15. Thanks, I'll give it a shot. No, I'm not. Where is it?
  16. Hi, I'd like to adjust the shkval reticule's acceleration and overall speed, as the current speed with a digital input device is rather slow. Can this be done by editing the config file? If so, how?
  17. Amen to that! +1
  18. Woot! a Descent fan! =) Welcome to the forums. Black Shark indeed runs quite well; it's not very demanding in terms of one's system's graphics capabilities. It's far more dependent on your system's CPU, just how any good flight sim ought to be IMO. I hadn't known that it could run so well on a single core at less than 2.0 ghz, though. o_o Kudos to ED for focusing on physics and gameplay over graphics, but still making the sim look really nice! =)
  19. Alright, the fractions have been converted into decimals. Yet I'm getting the same results as before. However, I have noticed something of interest. When I look in the options in the GUI, they remain unchanged from their last changes despite me changing the options.lua file. Any ideas?
  20. My OS is Vista Premium 64-bit. I'm running in dualview, as span is not supported in Vista. See attachment.
  21. Hi, I'm interested in setting up a multi-monitor configuration for Black Shark. I have two monitors: A Samsung 1920x1080 LCD(monitor #1, left) and an NEC CRT set to a 1280x1024 resolution(monitor #2, right). I would like to have my main cockpit view on my Samsung LCD and I would like to have the shkval and ABRIS on my NEC CRT. I've found a wiki on how to do just this, and have followed the instructions on what to do, but I simply can't get it to work. I've attached a screenshot of what I get with my current options and monitor settings. As you can see, The main cockpit camera is squeezed to the right side of my main monitor, with the rest of the screen being blank. Also, the overall screen doesn't stretch onto my second monitor, as you can see in the pic. Here is a link to the wiki I got my instructions from: http://www.vaaf.net/wiki2/index.php5?title=Black_Shark_MultiMonitors#PIT_Camera.2BABRIS.2BShkval.lua And here are my options.lua and pit_Shkval+Camera+ABRIS configuration files: options.lua pit_Shkval+Camera+ABRIS Can someone please help me with this and tell me what I'm doing wrong? Help would be much appreciated.
