  1. I wondered about that given that it's aircooled, it's mentioned in the start up training mission for the A8. Wonder if it was copied audio from the D9. (I don't have the D9, so no way to confuse the two.)
  2. I've noticed this as well, but avoiding it is pretty strait forward. It does seem to be absolutely essential to warm up the engine, more so than other warbirds. Also, during the warmup process, keep the rpm above 1250 or the coolant will evaporate. (I'm not sure how essential that last one is, but it's in the manual.) I leave the engine running at 1250 with the radiator flaps closed until the engine reaches operating temps, and this can take 5+ minutes. I'm not sure whether that's realistic or not, given aircraft like the 109 reach operating temps in a fraction of the time, but if you don't it seems to be a guaranteed seize, even with minimal power applied.
  3. After trying a few different ways, I notice that this only occurs on Instant Action mission. ME missions, and premade missions work as normal. As Tempest mentioned, I'll try more with the affiliation of the aircraft -- though I've tried the Mig 15 as American and Russian with no effect in the Caucasus map.
  4. What is the procedure for the instrument light rheostat? Doesn't seem to be covered in the manual. It always burns out for me after 30 seconds or so. I figured it would be like the Mig15, but doesn't seem to be. I move it up to 'start' and once they light up, drag it back to 'dim' but still burns out immediately. Is it a bug, or is there another way to handle this?
  5. My understanding is they intend to do it differently for the Jug. Based on the comments from ED it sounds like it's still expected today -- though really if it needs to wait that's fine by me.
  6. Also this from BIGNEWY in the OB thread.
  7. Given the relative equality of the lineup so far, and the upcoming mossie this makes sense. Plus the Ju88 is just cool. TBH honest though I really want a Stuka -- whether competitive or not.
  8. Pshh, get out of here with that. I want everything right now, but also will ruthlessly complain if it's not up to my arbitrary standards.
  9. Via Nineline on reddit (at 12:45 CST) the P47/Channel map, and the OB update are still expected today -- so still hopeful.
  10. It's not on the front page, but products->planes has it for me. Can't actually buy, but it wasn't there this morning (for me) so I'd hoped that meant it would go live soon.
  11. I see the P47 is in store now (though not purchasable) -- patch still imminent I hope? Also really wanting the Fishbed fixes.
  12. As of the last OB update, I'm unable to contact GC in the Mig 15 (and Mig 21). I can still contact ATC no problem, but nothing GC works. (Rearm/Power/etc.) I haven't seen other mentions of it so I'm unsure if it's clientside or not, but is there a repair option or some way that may fix this? (I see another mention of this happening here from a year ago, but that fix has no effect for me.)
  13. It's already out via patch update. Are you on OB?
  14. Hi, having trouble with the mission where you need to take out the two b52's. Even if I 'cheat' and move directly to where they are before the comm's tell me about them, I just can't chase both down, as they just seem too fast. Even matching speed with them makes it very hard to hit, as the mig starts rolling wildly and is difficult to control at those speeds. You'd think they could've spared one of those mig 21's that are loitering about instead. Best I've got is 1.
  15. Hi all, flown the 15 quite a bit recently, and currently making my way through the Museum Relic campaign. Really enjoying it, but in a lot of cases I find myself wondering how on earth a target survived. For example, in the mission with the apache helicopters by the dam, I finished the mission with 0 score, despite (according to the mission log) scoring more than a dozen hits on one apache with the 37mm alone, plus tons of 23mm hits. Also scored a very near hit with the bombs on the same unit. Feel like not many planes should be able to take that kind of punishment. Very next mission it's the same thing, dumped nearly my entire ammo stock into one Su25 with majority hitting before it went down. Next one I got 5 hits in with the 37mm and it just kept going. (Despite being visibly on fire) Am I wrong in thinking a few 37mm rounds would ruin the day of most aircraft, regardless of era? Earlier in the camp I had no issue with a-10's, which would go down with 1-3 hits -- so was curious if something changed in a recent patch?
