  1. Update...just noticed that in the device analyzer it knows the buttons are being pressed...but the corresponding output doesn't light up. How do I solve this? This is very frustrating.
  2. Oh I forgot to add...in the device analyzer ALL buttons work. Just not in DCS. I CAN select the buttons in the drop down menu because they're all listed...but they don't work by selecting the assignment by pressing the hats to assign or in the cockpit after manually selecting the buttons.
  3. Hiya I just recently bought the TM 16000m hotas setup without pedals cause I'm used to twist rudder. Anyways I can't really figure out a good use for the rudder pedals things on the throttle side so I want to use it with brakes. Without TARGET running everything is 100% fine. But I can't make the break curve how I want it WITHOUT TARGET. (I want break pressure to begin at mid point on the lever thing cause it springs to the middle). I made a profile with both controllers but that was a disaster. Target doesn't even offer enough axis assignments that are physically on the pair of controllers! So I made one with just the throttle and made the paddle curve exactly how I wanted it...worked great. But I lose the functionality of all 3 thumb hat switches on the throttle. The buttons still work fine, got the brake system how I want it...but the thumb hat switches don't work with the profile. With no profile loaded everything is fine...except I don't know what to do with the rudder paddles and hand has to come off to brake with keyboard. Any help with this or suggestions on alternative software or how to have more control over an axis in DCS would be helpful. Thanks!
  4. CV is the code or whatever for aircraft carrier. CV is carrier BB is battleship DD is destroyer CA is cruiser NCC is starship
  5. You have to be VERY mindful of the winds while taxiing. That wind call on T/O clearance is actually for everyone else that's taxiing...so listen and take note. After Navy pilots get carrier qual'd they go to windy taxi school in Miramar. It's a tough one...ejections all day long on the apron.
  6. I think the news story would have to be different for anyone to panic.
  7. Are either of these prep modes modeled with the DCS F14? Or are they both infinite?
  8. If your joystick has mapping software that assigns buttons to keystroke...fire that up, change all the buttons to letters, open notepad and see what's typed as you push buttons. I did that with some 3rd party software for the FFP years ago to diagnose a screwed up button. That might help narrow down the problem that some people are experiencing....rule something out at least.
  9. Oh I thought it was supposed to be a consent type thing cause of the delay and a few guides and vids out there talking about holding it down. Thanks!
  10. Just curious...do the phoenix and sparrows require a timed consent from you? I know it's supposed to but one click of my trigger results in either of them flying in a few seconds. I'm using a saitek av8r. No probs with aim9s...but the radars launch no matter what even if I change my mind after one trigger click.
  11. What am I missing? Did I miss the update since that update over a month ago on a work-in-progress that costs $80? Was there another ED update in the past month that HB DIDN'T skip on the F14 that I don't know about? Don't resort to name calling...especially in one-sentence posts. That's the best advice possible for a potential HB customer!!!
  12. Heatblur should just rebrand by now and be "No Update Today Simulations" NUT Or at least this thread should be the first sticky on their board.
  13. What news? He just claimed that he HOPES to have news. You gather whatever you want out of that. Pure speculation...THEN you speculated on the result of your OWN speculation! :megalol:
  14. Fixing that typo took one person the time between pushing "start" on the kuerig and retrieving their life giving nectar that is coffee. Of course that was easy. But alot of people paid good money for this early access to an unfiinished product. Were the first couple weeks of attention our reward? I hope they drop a huge update on wed. That's a loaded comment. When is "complete"? When she can accelerate over 0 units of aoa? This community is lucky to have you around. This absolutely is an investment. We all invested into an unfinished product at full price with the reward of being able to fly it BEFORE it's done. We got our reward...but the dev team went to sleep I guess. If for some reason HB shut down tomorrow...would you be happy about your final product? I agree. One update...more than one year from now(or however long it takes to finish a plane...we're still waiting to see on pretty much anything on DCS) to fix EVERYTHING in one shot.
  15. wow...i said I was gonna leave this...but wow... So why is your team tackling typos and kneemaps on a product that's been out for 2 years? Look at the servers...F14 drivers vs Viggen drivers...you seriously need to think about your priorities. When's the last time you saw a little toddler spend $70-$80 on a piece of software? If a toddler got $80 of allowance saved up...he or she would like to see the benefit as well if it all got dropped on one purchase. You do realize that "freely choos[ing]" HB's software by purchasing an $80 product that's not finished is a legit investment. I didn't buy a broken sim of a plane...I invested $72 into a finished product that doesn't exist yet. It's similar to investing in the stock market. If the company you invested in doesn't do a damn thing...you might ask questions. You think the big dogs like Ubisoft and Blizzard dump pre-releases like this at full price? No, they don"t. There's a reason that this plane was released so early for a price....and I expect my money to go toward this particular endeavor...not the Viggen's typos.
  16. You're serious? :wassat: Nobody said that in this thread...in fact I even clarified who's schedule I was talking about. I happened to mention that it's been 2 weeks since the last update and you've deduced that I assume that HB is on a two week schedule? I truly hope so. I was expecting this one. The bug report forum is lit up like a christmas tree and we got zero updates this time around. Yeah...I'm a little irritated over HB's inability to roll out even the smallest update on this $80 pre-release while typos and kneemaps get updates on the Viggen. I can see how this is going to go here so i'm gonna check out. Not my first rodeo with the highly devoted.
  17. I didn't mean a schedule like clockwork...just that HB's updates only happen on ED's schedule. In the two weeks since the last update all Heatblur produced in time for ED's release of this update were a few tweaks to the Viggen, with a typo being one of the 5 bullet points. That's all I was saying. They're not overly communicative around here so we can only speculate how much effort they're putting into this; Missing an update cycle completely with a plane this new is what I'm concerned about. I could very well be doing something wrong lol. But when they updated the FM about a month ago things got VERY difficult as far as energy conservation and acceleration go...especially if I'm over a few thousand feet.
  18. We have a tomcat that can't dogfight even an AI su25 because the flight model is so screwed up, a Jester who sat next to chris farley and ate paint chips as a child, an Iceman in the early stages of rigor mortis, and a dev team that misses standard update schedules on a plane not even 2 months released. This is a lesson learned...I will NEVER again buy anything DCS what hasn't been out for at least a year.
  19. Looks like they didn't update anything on the F14. Yay.
  20. [apple event attendee]woo![/apple event attendee]
  21. Chopper it's just a little more involved than simply replacing the name under the canopy. You're brushing shoulders with advanced photoshopping to do it. I relate your request for help doing this to showing up to a nirvana cover band at the local bar and asking one of them how to play the intro to Sweet Child 'O Mine on your new and first guitar. Just offer to paypal somebody $ to do it. I promise...if this is your first and probably only photoshop-a-game-skin project....just ask for somebody else to do it.
  22. I was surprised when I saw this happen...because BMS does the exact same thing when altitude hold is engaged. That makes me think it's intentional. I actually like that it does this because it lets me know that I had all the switches corrct and it did, in fact, engage.
  23. I agree. I've been flying flight sims over 20 years now and this is the most frustrating experience I've ever had. Seems like the cat weighs a million pounds while at full burner...and loses energy like it's a kite. Shoulda waited.
  24. Well...F110 isn't a no-bypass engine...and you can see the entire fan from the front of the f14. I imagine if you put enough light down the intake by flying into the sun at least a little light would come out the other side. You can see straight through higher bypass engines like on airliners alot of the time. Maybe it's a feature lol.
  25. Look what happens when the man version of the JSF goes into no runway mode. Well played paint crew...well played. Here's the vid......https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtYGocISSoA it starts at 3:25. F35b is my new favorite plane.
