  1. At this rate, any shot within > 5 miles and < 15 miles are usually useless and can actually put you in danger if you decide to chase the shot (aka trying to maintain lock for it to dive down). https://gfycat.com/sadrarecomet I mean, i don't think i can have a better angle to shoot the AIM-7 like the second one, but it still miss...
  2. CTD been a regular thing. See attached log, just sudden CTD without any PAL mode or anything. I cant' see anything obvious from the log but hope that you guys can make out something. dcs.log.txt
  3. I see that we already want some deep-binding for Jester AI. I would very much like the options for binding stuffs like: Changing scan elevation / Changing scan distance / Move scan zone left/right ... in other word, more radar control for the Pilot through Jester AI binding without having to open the rose system. At this point, the F-14 can't do serious BVR work without a human RIO. Air combat changes at a much more rapid pace compare to A/G strike. Ideally, there would be enough binding for Jester AI that a solo pilot could leverage to fully control the AWG-9 without having to fumble in the Rose system (even letting the pilot controlling the TDC through the TDI repeater would be a great option / or something that let the pilot chose the exact target he see on the TDI repeater, rather than having to work the number backward on the rose system for picking specific target) and those functionality will be taken away from the pilot of Jester is dead or there is a real human RIO in the back.
  4. Sometime, the Utility doesn't re-enable some buttons like "VR Off" button for me after DCS quit, does this happen to anybody?
  5. Currently, the jet won't spin up the right engine and always stuck at 20% RPM, even after fuel introduction. The only way to clear this up , is to restart the game altogether. The left engine would start up just fine. Asking Ground Crew to repair the plane does nothing.
  6. Just a fun fact, F-15A-C does have a back-up ability built-in to the software suite as well as the APG-63 to do ground works. In-fact it was probably the best strike fighter at the time of introduction (better than the F-4), but this capability was never officially recognized (politics) and the entire A/G functionality got deleted from the A-C Eagles the moment the Mudhen is a thing.
  7. It was partially available in the F-15A, but the entire software suite for A/G got deleted the moment F-15E is a thing, and also the Eagle crew were never trained for A/G, Raptor Drivers do train them , although not much beside a side job, but at least it is officially recognized as one of the task that they can do. Back Up Functionality != Officially recognized/Task-able. I don't think they would consider any planes now that can't drop bombs and shoot at air target at the same time, regardless of their primary roles. Oh well, that is a topic for an another afternoon with a good beer.
  8. Building Air-Superiority-Only aircraft is a thing in the past, not saying that air-superiority mission is (in fact, it is one of the most important mission whenever war happens). I believe very much that all F-22 Squadrons are Air-to-Air focused with minimal training on A/G so they can fill in the role if they have to. With 4 Squadrons of F-15Cs left , they are pretty much the tips of the spears beside the Raptors who is still tasking with taking the skies over.
  9. It is a thing in the past sure, but this is DCS that we are talking about and I'm pretty sure plenty of us prefer the good old clean Chairlie compare to the Mudhen. And at the current rate of RAZBAM, i personally don't think that their F-15E would feature a configurable/removable CFT due to both authenticity - that USAF simply doesn't fly "clean" Mudhen in combat, and the sheer amount of engineering behind it to support something as advanced like CFT (something that I doubt RAZBAM would be able to do. So yeah, the need for a full-fidelity Charlie is present in DCS (not IRL). A lot of us excels in air-to-air role only that doesn't really want anything to do with air-to-muds. I would definitely fly the mudhen too, but with the in-service configurations of always-on CFT, it will never be able to exercise air combat as effective as the Charlie. Those are ANG's F-15Cs , they fly mostly BARCAP in main land. Front-line USAF squadrons (USAFE or Pacific-based) don't use them AFAIK. I think most of the late 90's MSIP-II F-15C with APG-63V1 were all capable of receiving the AIM-9X with JHMCS in 2004 when USAF rolled them out. So a 2004 config of APG-63 V1 with JHMCS Eagle is not a far fetch and definitely want we want. 2004 upgrades also includes nice stuffs like GPS and Datalink.
  10. I am talking about BLUFOR only in this case. REDFOR are just kind of unfortunate because I don't think RuAF will give any info about avionics for anything that is newer than the Mig-23. When you are REDFOR, you don't have much choice , if at all. Also, when i am talking about Eagle Driver, it is air-to-air only. So naturally you would choose something , REDFOR or BLUFOR, that excels at the mission requirements. If i know I have to punch fast, cover a large area - Eagle is the way to go. But if I expect having to dogfight , scoped down to small area, the Hornet might be a better choice for some people (even though I am never shy away from a knife fight in a phone booth with the Eagle).
  11. MP F-15C is popular in the PvP servers AFAIK (due to it being the only thing next to the Hornet that can do Air-Air). But for anything PvE server like Hoggit's GAW, you will quickly realized that the air is condensed of Hornet drivers. I am pretty sure the number of Eagle drivers will dive to a new low when both the Tomcat and the Viper is out. Most people are just flying the Eagle atm not because they love the bird, but only because they don't have other choices (there are people who don't like the Hornet either).
  12. With the current state, I don't think we will be able to get anything that is higher than the AN/APG-63 V1 (1990s upgrade) (V2 and V3 are AESA radars, they are pretty much still classified). Although, even the original APG-63 is still in service. So to ask for a MSIP II Eagle that has datalink, GPS, JHMCS, AIM-9X around 2004 era that comes equipped with the OG 63 or the V1 is a very realistic ask. I would settle for the OG 63 with more radar modes too (Super Search, RAID... etc). But by the end of the day, i think ED simply doesn't have much interests in the Eagle at current state. After Belsimtek got absorbed, i pretty much lost all hopes because they were the only one who cared about the Eagle and now they are following ED plans of doing something else that will bring more people/revenue in. Eagle drivers (who stick with the plane) are a niche thing in this flight sim community as most people wants multi-role, not just air superiority.
  13. I'm not sure if weapons aren't affected though. From the same flight above, just a few second after the capture above, all 3 120C just simply gave up midway even though the 9 Mike was okay.
  14. For anyone who stumbled upon this (that your Strike Eagles fight just keep getting knocked down by the SAM). PUSH EARLY. The wording on the manual can be a little off about pushing away from marshalling point, you don't have to push while keeping an eye on the Strike Eagle flights. Just know roughly where they are and just push ahead when the times come. The key here is you clearing all of the threats ahead of all strike packages (even for the Hornet and Falcon flights and let them focus on knocking down the SA-15/SA-10).
  15. Did you have a chance to actually succeed with this one? My Mudhen flights get eaten by the SA-15 and the SA-10 every single time.
  16. I got mission 3 done and successful, but wanted to ask a few question: 1. Our flight was able to down both Fulcrum flights that were in the air. I believe right after this , I received a simple note about "mission success". It was kind of confusing because (if I read the pre-flight note right) my CAP flight was supposed to stay in station until ALL strike packages has egressed out of the combat zone. Is this the true condition for mission success for Mission 3 in this case? Just 2 flights of Fulcums need to be down? The doc doesn't state much beside: "Reset CAP to protect strikers egressing east". 2. There is only a single strike package of 2x F-16 that was supposed to be running SEAD. In the doc, it said supposed to be Colt 41 and Colt 42 (They come up in the radio as Colt 21 and Colt 22), but there are total of 4x F-16 that were running SEAD in the theater (which created massive confusion). Also, they both suck at destroying the SA-11 (HARM missile didn't do much and they were all in for gun runs before get killed by the SA-15 behind). Is this expected that they can't kill the SA-15 in one go that they have to loiter around and try to go for guns? They loitered around the SA-15 for so long that i basically gave up and RTB when Chevy 6 flights arrived at our location. 3. For landing, the ILS was clearly guiding me toward the runway 21R, while the tower and most of the other planes were landing on runway 21L. Is this considered a bug? 4. A minor gripe: the flight of this is supposed to be coordinated with the strike packages, the lack of confirmation on pushing away from holding point after 1607L was really weird. Baltic Dragon used the custom F10 radio menu to do this in his campaign and it worked out really well imo and I wished that ED did the same thing in this case. Overall, I really enjoyed this mission as it has a real sense of chaotic in war, the amount of incoming AI comms are crazy though (wish they were all recorded voice instead of AI).
  17. Is that the first 2-ship flight that take off at about the same time as the player? I noticed that they had similar flight path but didn't take in that they were a part of our flight. This explains it (also with the docs of this mission, I didn't understand the two two-ship part at first, now I do). Thanks!
  18. I just flew the Mission 2 today (tour of RF) and the timing on the voice over to introduce landmarks seem to be way off. The voice over was pointing to "The Farm" (WP9) while I was under the mountains and nowhere to be even close to the Farm yet (between WP6 - WP7). This also happens to most of the voice over on this mission (the most confusing one probably the voice telling me that I have reached the far end of the FEBA to the north, even though I have just reached the far south  ) Anybody seeing the same problem ? This happen on the latest version on Open Beta branch, not sure about the release branch.
  19. I have been gone for quite awhile, probably 6 months without any flight hours. Probably i was wrong about that. Basically, i don't have the feeling of flying the Eagle of 1.12B on FC 2.0 , not sure if that is my skill fading out through time, or basically, the FM of 2 games are different. Just my opinion on that. Thanks for clearing that out. @FLANKERATOR: I don't really get what ya mean. Do you have a trk file to show that movement?
  20. Hmm... it does make sense about balancing the gameplay since this is sim anyway. I get that. But what get you guys to nerf the performance of the F-15 on the patch 1.2.1 ? On release day, everybody has a choice for what plane they want because they are nearly the same in performance. After the patch, everybody just fly the Su-27, leaving the F-15C like an easy target most likely to be shot down. Just my opinion, :D
  21. I am not that sure when the Eagle's turn rate has been significant nerfed down since last patch 1.2.1, make it so damn hard when dogfighting with the Su-27 (almost impossible in Multiplayer). I mean, you can say it is based on real test pilot's data. But please reconsider the balance of the gameplay as well. I rarely see anyone but me flying the Eagle in almost every dogfighting sever that i join.
  22. I wish that ED reconsider the performance of the Eagles in Lock On. They have been nerf-ed so much since the patch 1.2.1 for FC 2.0 I mean, like, c'mon, it is a jet fighter, and it is like a flying brick after the patch. Every movements on the Eagle has been slow after the patch, the perfect performance was in the release version of the FC2. Make it a good choice in countering Su-27/Su-33 during dogfighting. I like Lock On for having the F-15C, but i don't like ED for nerf-ing it too much.
  23. My god. thanks. :D I'm waiting my friend bring some FC 2.0 DVDs for Vietnamese Lock On Community :D (about ~ over 10 pilots  ) But one again, thank for the Eagle, i love it. My Fav aircraft
