  1. So I just hit a sticking point that I only saw one reply about... Gimbal Roll. At least in my case, it did not fix itself, and I couldn't find any quick way to fix this... The main use I had for 'boresight' on the HOTAS was this exact situation... I didn't try the standby then back into AG mode 'workaround', but that would be super clunky in the middle of everything else...
  2. Finally found one of the references... Weekend New posted Jan 3rd 2020 by NineLine... The wording there was "significant discount" (with "discount" actually highlighted in red). But I think there were others references too, as once Taz1004 mentioned 'deep discount', I seem to remember that wording as well...
  3. This is what I read before also... And it was stated [by ED] more than once in different places. I really hope they hold to what they said, and would hope to hear a confirmation soon...
  4. Markpoint is already on the list, just grid/mgrs is not
  5. I'm sorry if this was covered somewhere (I searched the thread and didn't find anything). Is there a plan to implement 'GRID' so we can finally use MGRS coordinates? I'm not seeing it anywhere in the features list.
  6. Same here, I have to turn it off as well... There is a mod out there that is supposed to help, it changes the font color I believe, to make it more readable. I haven't tried it. This would seem a fairly 'easy' fix, don't know why it hasn't been addressed...
  7. I stopped reading after Page 14, probably about 95% of it was NOT constructive criticism, and definitely not what Wags was intending to discuss when he asked for input. Not because its 'bad', but because its really not helpful. As to what I'd love to see worked on as highest priorities are mainly centered around Air to Ground gameplay. Particularly: 1. A2G radar (not just the basic MAP, but the SAR modes/EXP) 2. A2G functions of the JHMCS (critical) 3. MGRS input (JTACs only hand that out, unless you install a mod, annoying to need an app on my phone to convert the coords, or convert using F10 map) Thanks for all the dedication you all show to your product. Keep it up.
  8. Related... So I just finally finished Mission 12 of The Enemy Within campaign and the path-finding is obviously broken here too. To finish the mission, you have to wait for two units to drive to the other side of a small town. But these two jokers drove back and forth across town, before they finally decided to follow the road out of town about 1/2 mile to where they had to go to trigger the end of the mission. They zigzagged across town at least 5 times... This is crazy...
  9. Actually that's one of the pages/images I'm referring to as being out there.
  10. I started up the 'Advance on Kislovodsk - SP-US Company' CA mission to test that units were moving as they should (because I heard that maybe they weren't). I've done all the following movements quite a few times (testing video settings, so I always tried to be consistent). I sent my two Abrams Platoons off to the west a good distance (this was an immediate off road waypoint, almost straight west, 1.5 NM). I sent one of the SAMs to roughtly the same area, and the other SAM down the road about 1.25 NM and then off the road around 500 ft or so. Finally, I sent the Bradley platoon down the road, to about the point where the SAM left the road (again, 1.25 NM). It was a mess... The Bradley's beat the SAM down the road, even though they had a decent head-start, and even that was after they kept pausing or going super slow on the road. There is 14 trees (Yes, I counted) to the west of one of the Abrams platoons, starting at about 160 ft from the road. 3 of the 4 got stuck in there for quite a while. Its not like those trees are dense either, they average about, maybe, 200 ft between each one. The 4th tank went on ahead for a while before deciding to slow to wait for his friends. The other Abrams platoon was worse... three of them stopped about 2000 ft off the road on their way to the way-point, already had been going pretty slow... because one of the 4 decided to head south down the road (maybe he had a friend in the Bradley platoon he was in the middle of. About 3/4th of a mile down the road south, and I guess he realized that maybe this wasn't the best idea, so he turned NNW and headed across country north of his friends about a half a mile. Before finally turning around to head back down with the rest of his platoon, who had finally started moving. It would have all been comical, if it wasn't so frustrating... I dont know how long its been like this, as I haven't ran this mission for at least a month, maybe two. I saved a track if it ends up mattering.
  11. So in the interview with Nick Grey from ED on the Grim Reapers channel, he mentions in passing early on, and then more in depth at the end, that there will [hopefully] be a cueing system for designating ground targets (which really is amazing on its own) coming to the new module. My question is this, will it also allow showing you targets you've designated and/or received by data link? For example, you look out to the side of the aircraft, and there's a square (or some symbology) overlaid on some part of the terrain where something is [designated]. That ability is always mentioned/shown with what little information you can find out on the internet (in the public domain). That would be the killer feature, and to me would be enough all on its own to purchase the new module.

Srry to revive a quite old thread... Is the accuracy you're talking about actually modeled in DCS?
  13. I had thought of that, just hoped it wouldn't come to it. I'll likely set it up as Sections (2 tanks)... Unless you think I should take it to the extreme of 1? Might make it too cumbersome to maneuver Company sized units...
  14. @Shadow KT: Thanks, exactly what I was looking for. After your message I went through the controls and found it under UI (ithink, or general), not where I would expect it in the bindings for CA. Also, reading the name of that binding and I'm not sure I would have guessed that it would do what I needed anyway. Thanks again.
  15. So another question/issue on my journey to learn (and enjoy) CA: When I'm trying to do basic tank on tank battles (I'm using a modified version of one of the company size default missions), if the enemy gets a single hit on one of my Abrams but doesn't kill it, the entire Plt is effectively taken out of the battle. This is because once any one of the 4 tanks in the Plt is severely damaged, it can't move very fast (~10mph) and all the rest of the Plt will only move as fast as the slowest member. How do ppl deal with this, or am I missing something? In the real world I we could just have the one useless tank stay behind (or something)...
  16. Most of the time when I'm [trying to] play CA, I play it like a RTS game. Sometimes, though, I will use the button to 'take control' of a unit for a second, usually to just do one quick thing, then I'm done. Is there no way to relinquish control of a unit once you've done this so that the AI takes over again? My workaround so far has been to then take control of some unit that I don't need to do anything (usually near the rear of the battle space)... But this is far from ideal.
  17. Can't you set a 'label' on the F10 map that other players on a MP server can see(i don't do any MP yet so I'm not sure, but I thought you could). It would be pretty easy then to write a script that the other ai aircraft would then make the label they see a target and share it back over sadl.
  18. Just looked, and what I was referring to was to deselect "Platform Shake" in Settings>Special>CA. Its not perfect, but removes a bunch of up/down when driving across flat(ish) terrain. I didn't know about what Shadow KT just said )i haven't spent much time in CA.
  19. After a couple of the regular campaign, I switched to the 'w/ CA' version... I don't care for it primarily because you not just 'can' issue commands, you 'must' do so. The units won't capture their objectives until you order them to move.
  20. @=Mac= if you go into game settings in the modules settings for CA there is a setting along the lines of 'ground bounce/shake' or something like that. If i recall correctly, shut that off and you basically have ground stabilization. I'm not at home so I can't check right now.
  21. @GGTharos I'm not sure I understand what you mean... I am pulling to hard and have too high an AoA? Not that I disagree of course, but that seems almost counter-intuitive? If I take it slower, I could see how I'd maybe lose less energy directly from the high AoA/G, but then won't I be 'vertical' for a longer period of time, so loosing more energy/speed in the long run anyway?
  22. I feel like I must be missing something as well. I too, tried to get 'fast enough' so that I could pull off this maneuver. I kept trying for 300 IAS, but I also hit that 'out of time' fail. So I've been starting from 270 ( about as fast as I can get within the time frame required to start the maneuver). I can pull it off, but every single time, I'm nearly stalling when I come out on top... I have just about no control authority what so ever, and I have to dive a bit (maybe 5-10 degrees) to pick back up enough speed. It's really to the point that I don't see how anyone would choose this maneuver in a real life situation... Especially once you add on some weight of stores. It brings me back to wondering if the DCS A-10 is under powered compared to the real plane? Maybe someone could give me thoughts and advice? Thanks.
  23. So after reading the 'planned systems' post a couple times, as well as reading other things, it's unfortunately not super clear to me. Is the development plan that at some point down the road we will be able to designate ground targets (or create markpoints, etc.) and/or see some sort of indication of a target on the ground via the JHMCS?
  24. So my plane (A-10C) loads up just fine, but the view is stuck looking ahead (and slightly down). So when I move my head around, the cockpit and world is just moving around with it. I've gone through all the settings (not many to play with really) and nothing seems to make a difference. Possibly unrelated, I discovered that if I had my camera running for head tracking, then since I wasn't wearing my IR headset, the view was stuck looking straight up. Also tried closing down all the Opentrack software for the head tracking, and that also made no difference. Google searches dont seem to show anyone with similar problems. Anyone know what I can do to fix this? I had it working a long time ago with the steam version of DCS World, with a different GPU, but that was only to check it out for like 10 minutes to see if it worked(it did, but was unplayable since I was using the Vega GL Radeon built into my laptop. I've since upgraded to a 1070 in and external enclosure). Important note, everything works just fine in the menus before I load up a plane. its only in the cockpit that I have problems Thanks ahead. Edit: So I installed the steam version and it works fine in VR... But what's interesting, is now the regular version works too. So now I'm going to uninstall the steam version too see if it still works after. Useless for me to have the steam version since all my modules are through ED.
  25. I don't know about mission 10 but, I just finished mission 0-0 (the familiarization flight with no weapons), and was getting shot at by SAMs quite a few times. We made it back, but was odd getting this calm description of things by my wingman as missiles were flying at us.
