  1. Sure but tell me if the C&I switch is a verify one? Isn't that one supposed to be in BUP rather than UFC for startup? It certainly isn't in the real VERIFY section of the checklists, matter of fact it's stated to be BUP in the 'real' cockpit interior checks So any guy following the checklist should have at least that one correctly set ... IMHO
  2. I understand the request might seem ridiculous for some unaware of one flight sim environment But I use such a tool: And since I shut down on my missions, and set switches accordingly, I would like to have my switches synchronized the next time I fire up DCS So no Sir, it's not for just the purpose of flipping switches, it has a specific purpose depending on my way to use the sim, which I understand might be different than yours
  3. works fine, many thanks Much appreciated as it was one of the last few things forcing me to use the mouse during ramp start
  4. I'd guess it's a pushbutton like behaviour. The real switch is simply spring loaded (electrically held) if I remember right. It toggles from ELECT to PNEU PNEU being pneumatic when CADC is off or failed and ELEC being the main mode The switch position has no real impact because PNEU mode is indicated by the yellow FLAG. One of the checks are usually to ensure that these two modes are within 75 feet of one another.
  5. I would second this request for implementation. It's quite 'unrealistic' to have a cold aircraft unchocked. And it impacts the routine of pilots who wants to follow real life procedure to start the F-16.
  6. The crew chief also usually forgets to put the chocks on.... So when you check systems at ramp, the aircraft may move forward unless the pilots request chocks on in the first place... IMHO, an cold aircraft should be chocked by default. edit: I see the request was already made in the whish list so hopefully it happens someday
  7. All's in the title? I'm looking for a binding to program a key for the Altimeter mode switch ELEC/PNEU Am I missing it or is it not present?
  8. Thank you very much , I'll try over the week end
  9. Yes ENG CONT switch - PRI ENG CONT switch - SEC ENG CONT switch Cover - Open ENG CONT switch Cover - Close others: EPU switch cover EPU switch nice one because you got two separate cover for OFF and ON and FUEL MASTER switch + its cover ZEROIZE swicth cover + its cover
  10. Thanks LeCuvier, I have noticed you worked on that in the How to setup a toggle switch and I have been inspired by this as well. It's for the F-16 pit What i did so far is to program two keystrokes on a single switch to raise the guard before enabling the switch macro. And the same when moving the switch back, the guard closes right after. But any more elegant solution will get my attention
  11. Thanks RS made me think ... program my pit switch (PRI/SEC) with two macro, delayed. 1 for opening the guard, the other to move the switch and then program two macro for the other position, one to move the switch and then close the guard. That should work preventing this doesn't get in the way Thanks
  12. thanks for your answer but as I said: Considering that many switches are physically locked in the F-16 cockpit, why were the switch guard actions coded this way while the switches lock lever were not? Not quite consistent if you ask me. The Hook switch must be lifted to be moved (as many other) this is a kind of switch guard as well, why are ones implemented and not the others then? I hope there's another way to deal with these guards than to add a physical pushbutton to them?

    Hook

Real manual (Dash-1) says that anytime the hook in the F-16 is not up and locked, the caution light HOOK comes up This is not the case in DCS. Hopefully this can be corrected in the future Hook is not visible when down in external view so I suppose the hook in the F-16 is not implemented at all ? Edit - Then maybe this should be moved to wish list, apologies... I checked the wishlist and indeed it's there, I can't remove this post but feel free to. Apologies again
  14. DCS chose to enable switch guard with a keystroke. I personally find this a bad decision as switch guards are mechanic and shouldn't send a keystroke Being a pitbuilder I have real switch guards in my pit and programmed the switches as any other switches (let's take the SEC/PRI switch for instance) When I do the sec check, I lift my physical switch guard and activate the switch to SEC. This work in other sims but not in DCS because the switch guard has to be actioned first either with the mouse or with the relevant keystroke) That kinda negates the purpose of cockpit building having real switches. I suppose I could add switches to the guards and program them but I find this counter productive and a waste of ressource Is there any other way to deal with these switch guards mechanic in DCS? Thanks for your input
  15. F-16 checklists have a section to check AR door & system but when I follow them, I can't check the AR system on ground after start. Indeed, the checks says to open door, check blue light RDY on in right indexer => works OK then click DISC button on stick (same as NWS = index finger button) and check that yellow DISC comes on, RDY light comes OFF 3 seconds later, DISC light should extinguish and RDY light comes ON again. => this does not work Upon pressing the index finger button on the stick, NWS comes ON (green) This is not correct as AR doors open inhibits NWS to give consent to DISC operation which is on the same button tested this morning with latest version
  16. I found very strange first that the C&I switch is in UFC at cold start setting. IMHO, it's wrong and should be corrected I made a post about this and was told that the crew chief set the switches for the pilot which I know is right, but I think that crew chief should be fired to induce a start in UFC. All the documentation I read about the F-16 said that particular switch should be in Backup And clearly, the fact that the BUP radio works in UFC is a bug, it shouldn't which kinda proves the switch position mismatch.
  17. just in case it helps other ppl having such weird issues with keys programming working in Ui but NOT in 3D For instance: Master caution CTL c Programmed like this: Works in DCS UI Does not work in DCS 3D and when programmed like this: Works in DCS UI Works in DCS 3D To DCS dev, it's really confusing to have stuff working in Ui and then not in 3D because usually when you set things up and check you use the UI mostly. It would be great if that confusion could be solved at some point. Many other example of mismatches: Seat ajust up and down canopy motor up and down, etc etc
  18. yeah, I figured this would be something like that, which I can understand. Unfortunately I couldn't convince my wife to set my switches prior each of my flying sessions. So i'd love to find a way to set mine the way I want them
  19. That's how my first ended Believe it or not, I was stuck there and flew like this for quite a while being strapped to my seat as a extra passenger on that KC-135. Little issue with the damage model i'd say
  20. Is there a way for user to setup the switches position specifically when starting from cold? I found some switches position out of OFF and already set which kind of negates my idea of ramp start Is that settable with a lua or something ? - Engine feed is on NORM - C&I is on UFC - Master Light is on NORM - Air source is NORM -O2 ON Thanks
  21. I'm trying to track down one issue with my controllers and for that I wanted to display the control overlay with RCTL ENTER Problem is that the overlay seems to be off my screen on the left side and I only see a very small part of it (just a vertical line) Is there a way to move that overlay back on the screen, or designate a set of coordinates to display it where I want? Thanks
  22. It's not because it's there since the beginning that it is right it's not because it's there since the beginning that it shouldn't be corrected It's not because some of us have adapted to it that it shouldn't be corrected It's not because it annoys me that it should be corrected It's not because engineer have it right and meteorologist have it wrong that it should be corrected Seriously, nobody said it was critical or should be fixed overnight but what's the point to have a bug reporting forum if we can't report what's doesn't work fine or is confusing.
  23. I have that issue as well. DCS at some point stops seeing Track-IR My only cure so far was to exit back to windows, stop TIR and reload TIR and then reload DCS. I haven't tested the rescan device yet but I will, is there a way to create a keybinding for that? Maybe adding something in the default.lua files?
  24. I think the Op means that when he creates a mission and sets the wind with the DIR box (not the arrow) then he gets the opposite of what he wants. Sure if you set the arrow, then you can get around the issue without a problem, It is still unnecessary confusion There's a indeed a mismatch between the arrow and the numbers, they don't say the same thing. They actually say opposite things for anyone in the aviation circles (and indeed maritime) The arrow says wind is 090°, the text says 270°. Can't be the same thing As the wind is always given from the direction it is blowing, not to the direction it blows (arrow is correct, number box is off 180°)
