Hi there Pretty new to DCS and have been using the MSFFB joystick for both collective and cyclic on UH-1H. Looking to amp up the realism a bit and now have purchased a Thrustmaster Warthog stick for cyclic. Been reading about mods to soften the spring but I'm also looking to add a stick extension. I'd been keen to hear from anyone with recommendations on the optimal stick extension length and whether I would still need to do the spring mod if I'm adding an extension. Also looking at economical options for a collective. Appreciate your thoughts.

Bell UH-1M (Huey Hog) Helicopter gunship ..... flyable, clcikable, standalone, startup procedure, EFM, fully armed..... etc etc.... Vietcong added to the infantry list in Mission Editor.... for the Vietnam War. CREDITS : see credit text in folder (Cockpit by Yakarov) This is a Hi-res cockpit of the Bell UH-1M, with a simpler startup. It is not my intention to replace the UH-1H module by Belsimtek or replicate it in anyway; however there was a perceived desire in the modding community for a fully fledged Vietnam War era helicopter gunship; and so I did the UH1C, then realised that infact the UH1M was a better configuration and carried more weapons......so..... here we have the Bell UH-1M. Startup : look in folder for "UH-1M startup procedure.txt"....... there is a switch to turn on/off hints.... If you want a HiRes cockpit with all the bells and whistles working, please consider buying the UH-1H Huey by Belsimtek, that is an excellent module and gives you the full immersion experience. This project (UH-1M) was drawn together and completed by Freddy. DOWNLOAD THE UH-1M HERE NEW LINK...... 3 March 2022 Fixed landing on moving ships ...... credit and thanks to NoCallsign for testing https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dglZauqLl1oXjf6FmsvJSua5qW-jpjdk/view?usp=sharing installation : : C:\Users\XXXXXX\Saved Games\DCS\Mods\aircraft\Bell UH-1M

Hello, I'm not sure if this is a bug or if it's theoretically possible, but it happens often enough for me to question it. I tried searching for previous threads regarding this, but couldn't find something with the exact issues either. Please feel free to move/close/point this thread to an existing one if one does exist. From a theoretical standpoint, helicopter rotor discs have 3 modes of flight: 1: Normal flight (air travels down through the rotor disc) 2: Autorotation (air travels up through the rotor disc) 3: Vortex ring state (air travels down through the disc, and is then recycled around the rotor tips and back through the top towards the bottom) I'm a huge believe in practicing full-down autorotations, thus I use DCS as a good platform to play around with. I am a real pilot (only ~100 hours however), so I'm not an industry veteran, and I'm well open for suggestions, corrections, and others' experiences. The issue at hand essentially seems to be the ability to enter VRS while the engine is idle or off, and the aircraft is already in a state of autorotation. To replicate this, set up at around 2000ft AGL, drop the engine to idle, and enter a direct vertical descent autorotation. Once in a stable auto at 0 knots airspeed, and 1500-2500FPM descent, firmly pull the collective to max pitch. What I would expect to happen is my descent rate being reduced, until the rotor RPM decays enough. What happens instead is a rapid increase in descent rate (Unexpected), along with the rotor bleeding off RPM(Expected). As I understand it and as the industry has been teaching, the following factors must be present to enter vortex ring state: 1: Descent rate of greater than 300FPM (This factor varies widely based on aircraft, rotor loading, etc. The FAA just uses 300FPM as a safe number) 2: Airspeed less than Effective Translational Lift 3: Between 20-100% engine power (essentially some power that's keeping the rotor spinning rather than RPM decaying) I have two ideas as to what could possibly be happening: 1: The firm pull on the collective is enough for the aircraft to enter VRS briefly as if it were still under power 2: The flight model doesn't have this simulated properly I'm at about a 50/50 split between my two theories, and I'm open to what others may have to say. I've done autos in an R44 at ~20 knots with no flare, and the rotor RPM decays immediately and arrests the descent. I'm able to replicate this in DCS as well, and I'm 99% sure it can be attributed with there being enough airspeed to be in ETL. So the only effect I'm questioning at this point is the ability to enter VRS at 0 airspeed. I know the DCS Huey flight model has been particularly prone to VRS in the past as well, based on some other forum posts I was reading. Again, feel free to question, critique, correct, or share your experiences, I've been meaning to ask this for a while and finally had some time to do it.

DCS OpenBeta 2.7.7 Server IP: 144.217.252.42:10308 SRS: 144.217.252.42:5002 LotAtc: Request Access Tacview: Request Access General Server Idea What we wanted to bring to the DCS community is a server that will be persistent, hardcore, and fun. While we are mainly Rotary wing focused, this does not mean we do not like the fixed-wing airframes. Helping other players in building FARP, units, and capturing airfields is a very important part of our server. Discord<<Click me Situation Israel and Syria have been in conflict for thousands of years. Since 2022, After the ceasefire ordered by the Council of nations, Syria Has spent the last 20 years gearing up for war. Syria and the Council of Nations are not willing to allow the dictatorship to have such a large arsenal. The border needs to be reinforced to protect Israel from a possible Syrian Invasion. Once the border is reinforced, we can start the push into Syria to remove the dictator from power. Damascus is heavily reinforced by his followers. Destroy factories and airfields. Frequencies can be found in your kneeboard. There are Easter Eggs in this server mission. Good luck finding them! Game Plan Reinforce the front line(indicated on map) Push the Syrian forces from the border Move into Syria and capture the Factories, Airfields, and strategic points Dwindle the Syrian forces until the supply is low enough for an attack on Damascus Assassinate the Dictator Persistence This server is persistent, constantly evolving campaign. What this means is, everything you do is kept on the server after a restart. Supply There is a finite amount of supply for both Syria and Israel. This means if you take off in a helicopter or a jet, and loose the aircraft that will no longer be in the supply However, there are factories across the map for resupply of Airframes, Fuel, Munitions, and troops. Don't forget that you will need to resupply the airfields and FARPS with the required munitions. Statistics We save stats on the server, that includes but not limited to; Flight hours Kills Deaths Weapons Specifics AI specifics Rules Be kind.... Work together No trolling No Teamkilling Combined Arms Yes! We love combined arms users! If you would like to have the ability to have a combined arms slot, do not hesitate to ask! We keep the slots limited to users who are on the discord and have some form of reputation with Gracey's Village. This keeps trolls, and griefing to a minimum Weather The weather is a slightly bumpy, and chilly light overcast. The time starts at 730 am(first run) and continues through the night into the next day. Weather can change overtime.

Missions by pilots for pilots and ambitious gamers. We hope this Update will be part of the DCS Beta update in Dezember ! This winter, we are releasing our second major service update. The purpose is not to fix bugs but to make improvements that allow even inexperienced pilots to complete the missions with a bit of practice successfully. A significant gap that we fill with this update is the missing patches on the flight combos of the crew and a distinctive skin for the Huey. We have designed logos and badges that will adorn the upper arms and helmets of the crew and the nose of the Huey after the update. Not least for reasons of inversion, all missions will be updated to the current state of the art. This add-on helps to dive even deeper into the world of the crew and create a unique experience. Test your skills in missions as close to reality as possible with maximum enjoyment.

Hello all, I'm inviting anyone who would like to participate to an AIN ship operations multi-player mission. We are going to run it on Caucasus map with no mods. There will be 4 big ships, super carrier, non super carrier, Tarawa, and Kutz for the flanker pilots. The mission will have active csar/ctld so the helo pilots can do plane guard duty while the jets do flight operations. AIN will have tutors for all the fixed wing, and at least a few of the helicopter models. There will be a few low threat level ground targets so people can practice that as well. We haven't yet set an exact time and date for this training, as we're going to run it several times, and we'll likely leave the server open and without a password while this mission runs. So come out and hop in your favorite aircraft and do some carrier practice. The tacans will work, as will the ICLS so you can even do automatic carrier landings in your tomcat. There will be tankers up with active TACANs and easy comms will be enabled. The mission will be "AIN Ship operations" in multi-player. Here is the link to our discord.https://discord.gg/JuBydbsfDn More information will be forthcoming, and I'll will add to this post. We hope you'll show up regardless of your flight experince level. We'll see you in the skies!

Original title of this thread - Intro Mission - Blown Away Reflected - sir, your dream of creating a realistic and extremely engaging campaign seems to be a reality. I sincerely hope this is a financial success for you. That being said, I picked up the Huey over the weekend and purchased your campaign based on the "buzz" around the community. I also was pointed your direction by fellow Campaign creator, @Badger633. I ran the opening mission this morning and was blown away by the immersion. I can see why people are so impressed. If the rest of the campaign resembles the first mission, I am in for a real treat! Just want to say thanks for all the HARD WORK you put into this product. Also - I am enjoying your YouTube videos on building missions/campaigns. You rock!

I've searched the forum for this, but can't locate. Sorry if this was asked before. I am looking for the Huey pilot and co-pilot models. I can't seem to locate them. I'd like to take a shot at editing for my personal missions. Would some kind soul please point me to the hidden cache of Huey Pilot goodness? Thanks!

Blades of Steel - Syria [Helicopter Sandbox] - by Element All Helo Modules (Single or Multiplayer) After the Syrian President was assassinated, that country fell into civil war as various groups fight for power. The city of Damascus is currently under siege by ruthless insurgents. Major airports and Syrian strongholds have been captured. As part of the Combined Joint Task Force (blue) we are to push the insurgents (red) out of Damascus and return peace to the city. Blades of Steel - is a PvE sandbox operation for all current DCS World helicopter modules and Syria Map. While I did develop this mission mainly for the huey and transport ops I do have missions and targets for more advanced helo modules such as sam sites, convoys, airfields, ect. You are able to play many different rolls from troop transport ops to recapturing airfields to completing ground strikes/attacks. Mission can also be play in singleplayer or multiplayer. This mission will provide hours and hours of flying fun with over 100+ different LZs for transport ops an even an option for Live Player Stats using my already included and installed EasyStats script. Features: - 100+ LZs for Troop Transport Ops - Troop Insertions - Troop Extractions - LZ's will smoke during the day and Flare at Night time.. - Combat Search and Rescue Operations (CSAR) - Ground Attack / Strike Missions - EasyStats for live player stats To Enable LIVE STATS You will need to edit your MissionScripting.lua file. Edit your MissionScripting.lua ("C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Scripts") so EasyStats may create and save data. Also use F10 map to pinpoint its location. These will include convoys, SAM & EWR sites, as well as airfields and road outposts ect. Troop Transport Operations (DO NOT USE CTLD IF SELECTING ONE OF THESE MISSIONS) Inserts, Extractions, CSAR If you choose one of these roles and if troops are required they will be loaded and/or spawned automatically. No need to load troops via CTLD menu. Plan your route wisely! After you are assigned a mission and doing a transport operation be sure to check the F10 map so you may avoid problematic areas such as SAM sites, outposts, and strike/ground operation areas as they may provide a serious threat to your Huey or Mi8. You may wish to go around to avoid these areas during your mission. Manually Loading Infantry Troops - CTLD Menu Transport helos also have the options to transport troops into battle at any one of the current Strike / Ground Attack operations. Just be sure to drop troops within 3000 Meters of a target and troops will march and attack target. Check out the F10 Map for current ground/attack missions. Use the CTLD -> Transport menu to load troops. Most of these operations will be very tough for transport helios alone. Load troops at White Smoke at airfields or anywhere on a FARP. I think ED should allow stations that do not require advanced system handling to be open to everyone. Why? Look at il2 (the sim). It is really popular with its bombers and larger planes. That sim also has multicrew. Every gunner station can be used by ANYONE. It is not locked behind a paywall (you do have to own the game). Why doesn't ED do something like this? I understand the co-pilot has to own the module. And if it was a more modern plane I can understand you would need to own the module if you want to use, lets say a radar or whatever. But stuff like gunner stations or other stations that just don't justify buying the module for that. So i think it would be a good move to allow players that don't own the huey to operate the gunner stations. Some examples with random planes: Chinook: Pilot: has to own module Co Pilot: has to own module Load master: doesnt have to own module any gunner station: doesnt have to own module F4: Pilot: has to own module Co Pilot: has to own module B17: Pilot: has to own module Co Pilot: has to own module any gunner station: doesnt have to own module

After slinging Iso containers to unpack a certain item on a MP server, there is often 1 that will be jittering or shaking. This means that instead of 3 containers being avaliable to be unpacked only 2 are (and therefore wont spawn the unit in). Now previously you might have been able to hover or park beside the crate, attach a rope and then release it once it was hooked. As of the latest patch hovering over, or trying to attach a rope will cause a game freeze for several seconds (10-15) will will mean if you are in the air, you are now dead on the ground. if you have attached a rope, you might have some succcess and be able to detach it after a short period of time. Its quicker to sling a new crate though rather than try to fix the stuttering crate. I understand sling loading is not of the highest importance to ED right now, but can someone try to replicate this or investigate this issue. Its making those MP servers like DDCS very difficult to sling units.

Been watching alot of videos on the M2 Browning Ma' Deuce, now inspired to make a wanna be controller, that will be functional for the UH-1H and Mi24P doorgun position.
