Something interesting regarding the use of R-23R: Because of interference of the aircraft radar with homing head of missile, it flew blind first 3sec in carrier avoidance path. After those 3sec missile will try to home to target. not sure if this was different on R24R.

Strange that trajectory depends on launch platform not the missile itself.

Easy way would be just to implement R77-1. R77 is not employed in RuAF anyway. Question is can R77 carrying planes use R77-1 also by default. There are some hud images of Su57 simulator in one of Zvezda videos with tracking target headon with this missile selected. Range seems similar to SD10/newer Amraams. Chance of getting new Russian machines is anyway slim.

Ka-52 for starters has builtin radar. Can carry more types of ATGMs. Saying its 2 seat Ka-50 is oversimplifying it.

Nothing is preventing you from using radar in search mode with MiG-23 or 29. That`s like saying F16 is intended to be guided by AWACS and not use its radar for searching.
