  1. We didn't see ataka firing and exhaust suppressors. Also cockpit fans still bane of ED .
  2. Im sorry my family will have skip a meal or two but damn it there are priorities!
  3. Next 20sec of video show how most players will use Mi-24.
  4. Or just if they dont spawn at start just switch to next mission.
  5. Radar attack only option - use radar only for/while attacking if EWR detects anything in SAM search or engagement zone. Basicaly if fog of war doesnt hide plane and its in SAM zone. This would simulate integrated AD enviroment.

    Skins wishlist

Any skin with crock eyes on engine dust covers is a must have for me.
  7. MiG-23ML walkaround video:
  8. SA6 when launching 2 missiles from same launcher has mode to launch second missile blind for a while, so dust etc.from first launch dont interfere. That's what was used in F16 downing in Bosnia that gave pilot warning too late. While it sounds useful it is best used headon. Any other aspect missile will have problems when it starts tracking, target is in a different place. Serbia had integrated AD so there was no need to keep SAM search radars constantly on. Tactics have been explained by SAM commanders(there are videos on youtube even) but ppl tend to listen to NATO stories about "firing blind" and "radars being on-off".
  9. I wouldn't consider Gsh23 a bad gun. DCS armour penetration is iffy at best. Russians put that gun on everything they can. When my country bought Mi-35M they also bought Gsh23 gun pods regardless of the fact it already has that gun in turret. Answer I got for asking the reason for this is - pilots seemed to find it useful for "gun runs" where they pepper some small target area with as much rounds as they can.
  10. In theory we could get smaller caliber gunners, but not much use like that tail gunner on Mi8. There are 4 window gun placements in cargo space.
  11. Actually one of the first things I want to do is test that night time muzzle flash. Looks so awesome.
  12. I didn't really imply hover shooting was something needed. Just pointing out the limitation.
  13. @The_Tau Reminds me of a joke from a local play: "How will we differentiate each other in heat of the battle?" "By heroism!" Sadly cant select diff seasonal camos in editor like with planes.
  14. Maybe T55 vs Leo1? Just make it 3:2 or 4:3 ratio? Or T55 on both sides(Finland had it)?
  15. While it can hover and fire missiles(there are videos of that), there seems to be limitation on firing the gun. To use gun speed must not be below 70km/h iirc. Not sure if this is recomendation or limiting factor.
  16. 1. Eh dont remember the name of the map. My bad. Played it yesterday. Red had ww2 german tanks and blue shermans. Took me ages rushing the bullseye target at Guaduta. Finally server changed mission and I was 10km from target. If its 50s then I guess its ok. 2. R55 is a IR ipgrade of beam riding R2-US. 55 Wasnt around in late 50s. It wouldnt give an edge to Redfor anyway. Just adding more options for fights. R2 was intented for MiG19PF and 17 initially. If going history accurate then first variant MiG-21F-13 used K13 missile hence the variant name. But your right it had no radar just radar range finder I think. "Bison" you mentioned is 90s modern indian upgrade of bis with R77/73. Cheers
  17. 1. Regarding two towns. Using ww2 tanks is kinda problematic regarding speed. 38kph isnt in my opinion enough to reach bullseye while fighting. At least if you start advancing mid playtime. 2. "Operation Sukhumi- The Beginning" why not add RS-2US for MiG-21s? They predate R55. Also a discord server would be nice, by someone at least. Overall very fun server to fly on.
  18. Actually one of guys that did Constant peg stated that MiG-23 had such good acceleration and that tho for example F15 had higher top speed, there wasnt enough fuel to catch up with him. One pass and run was the tactic.
  19. Probably. Tho there were cases of Mi8/17 being hit by MANPAD and survived. Recent one was in Syria and there is video of it. Other recent in Afganistan with a picture of extensive damage after it landed. 57mm depends on where it hits it. Its not a guarantied kill. Mi24 has similar engine layout. Point being it can take a punch.
  20. For whats it worth:
  21. "Flying tank" came from the west mostly not the soviets, same like with Su25. Russians just refered to this name later as a form of accolade. Mi24 was built with intention to be flying IFV. Pilots called it "Crocodile". There was story that someone in Afganistan painted Gena the cartoon crock on it iirc. Afganis called it "Devils chariot". It had other nicknames by other users : Bumblebee or turtle among others. "Hind" is wining the award for most mismatched name for a weapon system. Tho it did take hits that would bring down other chopers of similar purpose, that could earn him "flying tank". Here is one that got his left wing blown by supposedly 57mm round in Syria.
  22. This is because most real world fights were with export MiG-29A`s. Iraq had no R73s for example, only R60s. And Yugoslav/Serbian 29s were in poor condition/no maintenance to start with. Radar/RWR or AC generators reported dieing on them in flight. You will never see comparisons with more modern 29s because ppl dont really know thier avionics or are aware of those versions. You have Indian MiG-29UPG,Serbia now has SD version-similar to Slovak ones, Syria has MiG-29SM(-ish),Egypt has MiG-29M/M2(new airframe like KUB or 35), Peru has SMP, Azerbaijan has MiG-29UM1 like Ukraine, Russia runs MiG-29SMT (not to mention KUB or new 35s, those are based on bit different airframe then versions before them). You can always compare F-16A(early ones with no BVR ability) with MiG-29A so they see whats it like to compare something to start version.
  23. Would be nice to see some historical paintjobs with this module. Some cool nose art from Afghanistan war (MiG-23MLD not MLA tho): No.55 that got hit by Pakistani F-16A on 12.09.1988 but had light damage and RTB. No.58 that shot down 2 Pakistani helicopters on 26.09.1988. No.57 that was used often for CAP and Escort missions. No.64
  24. They have been seen with Izraeli EHUD AACMI (Autonomous Air Combat Maneuvering Instrumentation).
