  1. Um, well considering that track is from MY server, then yeah. Looks like that is an older copy when I was trying to solve an issue with the S-3 not landing so I tinkered with having it start on the carrier instead of air start. That name of the person who posted the problem is not familiar to me. And I keep my server locked. Wondering how that person ended up with a copy of it. I don't really mind as eventually I planned on distributing it once all the bugs were hammered out ... but it isn't quite there yet.
  2. I have a multi-player training mission I made for my squad to act as a do-anytime type of sandbox to be able to practice in any aircraft for any task. I remade it from scratch when 2.5 was released and most everything has been working fine. Recently one of the patches within the past few weeks broke the FC3 aircraft. If you are the host for the server and you jump in to any FC3 aircraft, if it is a hot start or air start aircraft you will hear a constant beeping. It is much to fast to be the RWR picking up the AWACS search radar. If you do a cold start you don't initially hear the beeping. But as soon as you apply power to the aircraft the beeping starts. This happens with or without weapons so it can't be weapon releated. I've turned off the RWR system and it continues so I know it shouldn't be attibuted to that. I even turned off the electrical power and it STILL keeps beeping. I've had other people in the squad act as host and try it and they get the same thing so I'm pretty sure it isn't my system or drivers. Any ideas?
  3. Prior to a few patches ago if you plugged in a TACAN station and boxed it on the DDI HSI page it would show a triangle on the outside edge of circle on the HSI showing the bearing to the station. I haven't seen that anymore as of the last couple patches. Is that working as intended or a bug?
  4. I had a somewhat different problem. The TACAN appears to work except for there is no longer a triangle indicator on the outside ring of the HSI after a few patches ago. That was a useful tool to know when to start your base leg turn. Hope they fix it.
  5. I was still getting the sound even AFTER launching all my Sidewinders off of the aircraft.
  6. I hardly ever mess with the rockers on the MFDs (on any aircraft, really). For those of us with the Thrustmaster MFD frames, it is nice when a module permits those rockers to be reassigned to something else. That's a good 16 buttons you can free up. Currently the Harrier does not let you do so. So, as a wish list item for the future, put in a note to the developers to see if those two-way rockers on the MFDs could be able to be reassigned in a future patch?
  7. As part of the training mission I am developing I have some downed units across the map which are broadcasting signals for the Mi-8 to find them using the ARK-UD, and for the UH-1 to find them using the FM radio homing. The Mi-8 works fine. But I can't seem to get the FM homing to reliably work for the Huey. The wattage should be plenty on the beacon. The helos start only 10-15 miles away. I've got the mode knob set to HOME and the freq dialed in. Is there anything else needed? (Or does anyone know if that is currently bugged?)
  8. I found an earlier thread on how to set up a road side fuel base for the Viggen. I have a training mission which is under development and I set up a road base to test this out. I set it up exactly like the test missiong that was included in the thread but I cannot contact the crew to rearm, or refuel ... and I'm almost right on top of them so I must be close enough. Does anyone know if this functionality is currently bugged?
  9. If this has not been mentioned yet it definitely needs to be implemented. For all aircraft, give them an attribute. (Or flag, or whatever you call it these days in programming lingo). For helicopters they have a Helo tag. For fixed wing aircraft they have a Fixed tag. (And, for the Harrier, it will have both since it can do VTOL operations). When an aircraft calls ATC for landing the system checks the attribute of the aircraft calling and it ONLY SHOWS THE AVAILABLE LANDING OPTIONS APPROPRIATE FOR ITS TYPE. For helicopters (and the Harrier), since they can land anywhere, they will end up seeing everything on their list. FARPS, airfields, carriers, smaller ship landing pads, etc. For fixed wing this will limit what you see in the list. This is necessary because an aircraft carrier never sails alone. It always has a half dozen to a dozen plus ships screening for it. Currently when you are in a F/A-18C and try to call the Stennis to land you end up seeing EVERY SINGLE SHIP within close proximity, even though you can land on none of them aside from the Stennis. Such a flag would allow you to filter out all landing areas that you don't need to be seeing for fixed wing aircraft.
  10. #1 appears to be fixed with the latest patch. #2 appears to be intermittent now. Can set it now but sometimes the weather still doesn't rain even though it is set to that. #3 appears to be resolved if you turn off Easy Comms
  11. 1. I saw a video recently on how to add static aircraft to the aircraft carrier deck. However when I try to do so it doesn't work. If I do not select Offset Fixation the aircraft do not show up at all. If I do select Offset Fixation they are all piled up onto one spot and I can't move them anywhere else. And yes I have the Stennis object as the unit they are linked to. 2. Weather presets don't appear to be working all of a sudden. I click on Autumn Rain and it loads the settings but when I go to click the save icon next to the preset load icon it is greyed out, even though I have changed some of the settings. And simply saving the entire mission doesn't save the weather either, it just goes back to Default Weather. 3. I have noticed even though I am using the Comm1 and Comm2 activation keybindings for my controls, I only get a response about every one in three radio attempts (so, for example, calling ATC at an airbase to get clearance to taxi. Sometimes it works the first time. Sometimes I make the request and the pilot doesn't even send the outbound radio request. Just silence. After trying like three times the pilot wakes up and makes the request and ATC will answer. Same thing happens with ATA tankers. Thoughts?
  12. From the manual, it says some rockets give you options of different rocket motors to use (M4 vs M66). What are the differences/advantages of these (if any)?
  13. Hmm. Could have sworn I had a TACAN set last time. Will try again. As to question 2, I know where the flaps are, was just asking WHY you cycled from one position to another instead of just setting to Half (if the FCS needs it for some reason, or some other reason).
  14. Wish list item for the hornet? That's an easy one to pick (but probably impossible to implement). Deck crew on the carrier. :)
  15. In the Wags startup video I have 2 issues. 1. He sets up the runway course using the CRS switch above the MPFD. Mine however, does not appear to do anything. Is it currently bugged? 2. At one point he switches the flaps to Auto, then later to Half. Is there a reason for cycling the flaps (other than to test their movement) or can they be set to Half from the get go and leave them as-is?
  16. Below the UFC, what is the ATT switch govern and what should be the normal operating mode? I would assume AUTO. And when would select otherwise?
  17. Nope David. Don't have that. Hmm. I may have an answer possibly. My Stenis used to be the other US carrier which I put in as a placeholder and when the Hornet was released I changed the unit type to the Stenis carrier. Will delete the unit entirely and put the Stenis back in. Maybe it didn't like being changed from the old carrier to the new.
  18. I must be bugged. I have no options whatsoever to set the TACAN for the Stenis. Nothing in any of the advanced waypoints. nada, zip, zilch.
  19. Cut the wind to 0 and the ILS works now. Radio homing is still a mystery.
  20. So I had a training mission I had made for my squadron during the 1.5 days. When 2.5 came out I decided to remake it from scratch in order to clean it up. But I have come across an issue in the process. Radio Homing. I have 3 different locations to practice FM Radio Homing in the UH-1H. Each has their own zone and a different FM radio freq. All 3 are set up in a similar fashion. But yet only 1 of them works. That one that works is on 50.2 FM. I have tried a range of frequencies for the other two but nothing seems to work. Any thoughts on this one?
  21. That's bloody weird. Ok, I'll toy with the wind speeds and see what happens. I don't really want to turn off all wind because I want students to learn to deal with wind for landing and bomb employment.
  22. So I had a training mission I had made for my squadron during the 1.5 days. When 2.5 came out I decided to remake it from scratch in order to clean it up. But I have come across a couple of issues in the process. Issue #1. ILS. Or rather, the lack of it. In 1.5 ILS worked just fine. I would practice ILS approaches at Senaki frequently. But in 2.5 ILS doesn't seem to be working. The weather is the same as it was in 1.5 so it should have the same active runway as before (the one equipped with ILS). Has anyone else noticed issues with ILS equipment in 2.5? Or do I have to set something up that's new that didn't have to be set up in the past? Issue #2. Radio Homing. I have 3 different locations to practice FM Radio Homing in the UH-1H. Each has their own zone and a different radio freq. All 3 are set up in a similar fashion. But yet only 1 of them works. That one is on 50.2 FM. I have tried a range of frequencies for the other two but nothing seems to work. Any thoughts on this one?
  23. If you use the MW-50 as a fuel tank (setting in the mission editor), I know you have to adjust the rotary control on the left wall panel but I have a question how/when it operates. Do you even need to turn on the MW-50 switch on the forward panel? Does the fuel in that tank only get used if you advance the throttle to the point that the MW-50 system normally engages? Or does the aircraft just use it regardless? What order are the tanks used? Does the MW-50 tank feed into the main tank or does the aircraft draw directly from it? Does the MW-50 tank get used first? last? before drop tanks? etc
  24. Did that Cthulhu. It accepted the code. But still can't access it.
  25. Ok ... I am missing something. I updated to 2.1 ok. I downloaded and installed the Normandy files ok. I downloaded and installed the asset files ok. I launched DCS and it asked for the key code for the assets ok. But I just see Nevada map. I don't see any way to actually ACCESS the Normandy map (was going to make a mission in the mission editor). I DO see the Normandy map listed in my module manager, just not how to get to it?? I did notice that in module manager, the Normandy map did not have a serial number box next to it like other modules so I went to my profile on the website and (re)obtained a key for Normandy and went back to the module manager and hit the DRM and inputted it. But still ... I don't see any way to access the map.
