DCS - Nhawk's Weapons mod
Pally replied to nighthawk2174's topic in Utility/Program Mods for DCS World
Yup. I experienced the same abnormal Patriot missile behavior. What I ended up doing was altering the LUA file (Missile Data LUA) that deals with pN, loft kinematics, CCM... etc. I spent a lot of time play-testing and googling Russian-to-English translation to understand the meaning for those codes. Lately, I have been messing around with the numbers and guess-timating. In the end, I turned the AA-12 into something ungodly (something like mach 6 at 30k for a 15nm shot from a 700kts MiG-29S). I will take a look which part of it I "fixed" to make it work. Disclaimer though, I am so waiting for an update from Nighthawk because his mod is pretty awesome. Well, that's all for now. -
Aye! Thank you to team Eagle Dynamics for an amazing game/sim/alternate universe. Happy New Year! Pally

Dearest Heatblur: Just a big thank you for the F-14 module and all of the update patches. Wishing you all and families as well a safe and Happy (and even greater) New Year for 2021! Your fan, Pally

I think we got trolled? Or else, Jester can speak French as much as the situation seems it, ex: Flyby in full burner by port side of carrier for fun. lol. Or when using that LANTIRN mod at front seat.

I second to that that the forum is indeed a nice feature. The dark mode rocks, especially during night time browsing. Thanks all, and good thinking!

Finally! Just like the diagram per NATOPS! Thanks, Heatblur!

Hi guys: I just updated the Open Beta to latest. After entering game, I checked the key binding section and discovered I have lost all bindings. I have updated before and this had never happened. Is there anything I can do now to recover it? I did make a backup copy of it from last update. I also copy and pasted that old back up to new ones in the "Saved Game" folder for DCS, but it still won't populate the old key bindings. I mean, oh boy... a little help! Thanks in advance.

Hi IronMike: Okay, updated to latest patch and the instrument lights are good, so are the console lights, and the ACM lights all turn up to level 9 intensity; however, the Indexer light will not respond at all unless I mouse-click it. That is all I have found regarding lights. I am so spoiled by the game so far. I literally open and close the canopy repeatedly to watch how the rain falls upon it.

[DCS ISSUE] Padlock Cancel Function still have POV stuck
Pally replied to Pally's topic in Bugs and Problems
IronMike: I have updated to 2.5.6 yesterday and the tracking seems to have gotten smoother. Padlock cancel function is still buggy as above but not as bad. Thanks, IronMike. -
Hello: Just discovered something odd regarding in-cockpit light controls. They are the Instrument Lights and Console Light dial setting could not increase beyond level 3 if using keyboard bindings. They function as intended, however, if using the mouse-click. Day or night has no difference in said regard. Has anyone notice this? :helpsmilie:

Hi ED, Heatblur, and everyone: The padlock cancel function issue is re-formatted below into easier to read bullet points. Longer description follows. Bug: Padlock Cancel function not actually cancelling padlocking, OR it does perform the cancel padlock function but kept field-of-view locked in place. This occurred whenever tracking a target that went pass the normal point-of-view (my experience was especially so when a target passes behind me, pass the pilot seat) and enter the "blindspot". Can I reproduce it 100%: yes (100% of the time) How to reproduce/ description: Step 1: Find target, padlock target, and pass it head-on (quickest way to have it pass to your six o'clock and set up the reproduction of the problem). Step 2: Proceed to maneuver in such a way so that the target will fly into your blindspot, ex: behind the headrest of pilot seat. Step 3: Upon target either at near extreme FOV of your blindspot, or when it actually passes into your blindspot, use padlock cancel command to attempt to un-padlock function. Result: The padlock cancel will appear to have un-padlock and freed the POV to swivel or move head around; however, it actually still somehow kept the FOV locked into last known location of target. In essence, it appeared the FOV is "stuck" at looking at that particular spot in the sky where the target was last seen before passing into the blindspot. DCS Version: OpenBeta DCS 2.5.5.41962 <<<<is not updating to 2.5.6xxx the culprit?? System Specs: CPU: Intel i7 9700K @ stable 4.9G GPU: EVGA 2080Ti FTW3 Ultra (90% Power and 78F max temp allowance) RAM: GSkill DDR4 3200 @ 16G x 2 sticks @ XMP (stable, never crashed) SSD: Samsung M.2 512G OS: Win10 Peripherals: Joystick: Virpil Constellation Alpha; Virpil T-50 CM2 Gimbal; Logitech X56 Flight stick unit (X56 stick axis is unbinded for flight, however it is binded for RIO and HCU function). Throttle: Logitech X56 throttle unit Pedals: Logitech pedal unit Panel: Dell Monitor Mission File: *will upload* Log: *not available because it never crash game* Track: *will try to procure one* Video/ Screenshots: *will try to create one* Perhaps it is much quicker, however, to reproduce the issue by doing above Step 1 to 3 in any given 1 v 1 head-on pass with target padlocked. Mods: *no mods, only aircraft skins; no front seat LATIRN mod nor any other graphical/resolution mods* ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I had most recently encountered a padlock cancel function problem. The padlock can track, but the padlock cancel function could not reliably cancel the tracking; specifically, when the target crosses behind the pilot seat. If I activate padlock cancel after the crossing over to blindspots, I am left hopelessly to ever try to move my POV for the duration of the fight. Once in awhile the POV will be freed, but most of the time (I tested in Nevada map, flew F-14 vs Su-27, later, against MiG-29, for about half a day's worth of time) my POV is really stuck good looking at its "last known location". In greater details: The view will get stuck in what appeared to be continuously tracking a particular patch of sky even after the function "padlock cancel" was repeatedly used. This issue only happens if the bandit/target has left the proper field of view. It really happens, though, whenever the tracked target is gone into a hard to track angle, and I deactivate padlock using padlock cancel function in attempt to maneuver and to continue tracking the target by mouse look, and or arrow keys. The issue came about after I padlocked a target successfully (such as a head-on pass), and as we both turn into each other, the bandit would pass momentarily into my "blindspots" and rendered it understandably untrackable. That aspect was alright because otherwise it would be a cheat. I kept the right going with unpadlocking (padlock cancel function, in game) the target, and attempt to move the view with the usual arrow keys so as to better track its next position as I go about my turn into his tail (in a two circle flow). To no avail, however, that my poor head appeared to be still very stuck staring at that last known location where target had passed to my blindspot (ex: the pilot seat) and remained stuck there with no way to break free from it. Yes, the glance cockpit function work, but only momentarily as it did not free my head completely (as if the padlock cancel function was not truly working). I had in multiple times use the padlock cancel function, but it still did not free my head from being stuck. Lastl, I have remap the keys to non-numpad keys for thinking it could be a simple hardware problem. Nope, after many tries, I am stuck (quite literally and figuratively). I am currently still on Open Beta 2.55, and not on 2.56. Could that be the sole source of this problem? Is there is something I am doing wrong? The only solution I came up with (you will laugh, as it is a costly bandaid) was to confine myself to only fight a one-circle flow as it keeps the target within a 180 degrees arc, and never have to crosses into my blindspot (opposite to the two-circle flow where the target may disappeared momentarily). That was the only solution to this headlocking issue. It doesn't help, though if I want to do a two-circle fight. Well, that was the extend of it. Had anyone encountered or heard of this issue? I plan to move on to VR with HP Reverb G2 later, but perhaps this small glitch (if indeed it is) could be examined for a possible solution? I still fought in it, but loosing track of the bandit is pretty nerve wrecking. Thanks DCS, Heatblur, and everyone who would consider helping out.:helpsmilie:

Boom! Dead on! It works beautifully. Thank you, again Pmiceli.

Hello all: After fumbling around in mission editor, as well as searching Google and this forum for how to set a player jet for a cold-start and on runway, I have yet to come across a thread. Is this a hardcoded feature (cold-start from ramp only, never runway)? If there is a way to do this, that would be great. I checked LUA script section but could not find something of said sort. Thanks in advance for help me thinker this.

Aye! Patience, understanding, and support here. There is no brand like Eagle Dynamic, and no high variety and immersive fidelity combat simulations other then DCS: World.

AWESOME! Thank you for your answer! Glad to know the TWS-A will be as awesome as we imagined. Beautiful work, indeed. Thank you, again, Hearblur.

Dear Heatblur team: Thank you for this update. Now, please redirect me if I misunderstood, that per topic post, Does that mean the computer will switch from 4bar x 20 to 2bar x 40, and vice versa, if that deem more favorable to keep track of all targets of interest due to their (weightedness) within the tracking cone? Also, once the AIM-54 is launched, will it further influenced that behavior? E.g.: If two targets on the left of the TWS tracking cone limits were receiving their respective in-flight AIM-54s, would they weight more then a merely tracked target off to the right even when it is targeted with a "next launch" numeric identifier? If that is the case, then it will be some smart algorithm as it will reduce a lot of a RIO's work load after Phoenix launches in a target rich environment.

Cobra: I am giving you a bro hug. My goodness. These are great news, and I am excited. I have never doubt your leadership and vision in the Tomcat work. I was a quick fan of the Heatblur Tomcat when I FIRST saw it on YOUTUBE two years ago (then proceed to return to flight simulation after two decades complete with a new rig and HOTAS, lots of manual studying and solo mission training), and I am just as excited before as I am now. This excitement is also for your team as well. This is hard work and I truly appreciate the time spent in research, quality assurance, and fan communication. Thank you and thank you once more to your great team. p.s: May your team member make a good recovery, and everyone stay healthy amid this trying times.

Silly title, but yes, F-16XL anyone? The F-16C module is a beauty. What about the XL as a community mod? Anything F-16C related was back in the Falcon 4.0/BMS days; specifically, it was with the F-16XL. I find it aesthetically exotic, and functionally bad-arse in moving mud. I recalled having a blast loading a horde of Mavericks and drool at how many more ordnance it can handle . Not sure if this will gain traction, but I hope it will at least be considered.:megalol:

ED SIMS SCREENSHOT AND VIDEO THREAD!!!! (NO USER MODS OR COMMENT)

"Request Repair"... Jester: "Hey, we got a serious INS alignment problem!" Me: "It's going fine, relax. The caret is moving left to right and its taking forever like usual." Jester: "Nah man. We can't align accurately while tilted sideways AND at a hundred plus feet on the roof of a hanger!" Me: "Wait. What do you mean on the roof? Jester, stop. Please. " Me: "Oh snap? Again?!" Jester: "Yeah. A-G-A-I-N!" Me: "Be patient brother. They will get us all patched up soon enough. Climb down or eject, and stop freaking out. Thank you."

That was heck of a maneuver. May be a glitch? Jokingly though, I am unsure about the realism, but it sure needs some music to go with the Harpoon ballet video. ;)

To Heatblur team: Thank you for creating an incentive to help curb this COVID pandemic. I appreciate every bit of your participation. We are, after all, one world; we show our support independently, but in a collective solidarity. May we stay bright, healthy, and strong. I love your work, as much as ED's DCS. Not going to be shy with my redundancies... THANK YOU HEATBLUR AND EAGLE DYNAMICS!

Sankha and Space Cadet: Thank you both for replying, and also thank you to ED in replying to your (Sankha) of similar issue. I play on Open Beta 2.55 at this point. According to Sankha's response per ED, it only applies to 2.55 stable for key/serial number request during login. I am on Open Beta 2.55, so I might just wait a little while longer as ED do their thing. Many thanks. Please add any addendum, referals as you like.

I just purchased the Helicopter Bundle. After payment confirmed, I installed all four within game, it restarted, and asked of me to enter the serial number for Black Shark 2 for its activation. Question is: Where may I find its activation? I can lookup my Flaming Cliff's activation serial number easy once I log in to main site; but so far I could not find any activation number for the Black Shark 2. May I missing something? Many thanks. :)
