MK-82 AIR invalid fuze and RIP QTYs possible Bugs
Weaponz248 replied to Weaponz248's topic in Bugs and Problems
Yeah saw that and now its just a question of if we will get NOSE fuzes modeled or not. -
@john your RIP qty will change if you do the following Hit the number on the UFC and then hit the RIP QTY OSB and bam it changes!
-
Well after a bit of looking into the issue here is what I have found. The bomb is visual modeled as a nose fuze but its code model is a tail only fuze(not sure if that makes sense) So the jet things it only has a tail fuze and no nose fuze. Therefore we can not select N we con only select N/T or T. So we can only utilize this bomb as a AIR and not as a LD. As a loader I have loaded a few AIRs and when you loaded it you hook the AIR pkg laynard up to the Tail solenoid. So you can only drop it as an AIR
-
Ok not sure if this is has been posted before or not so here is goes The MK-82 AIR should be able to be dropped in N/T and N. However when you select N you get a invalid fusing message on the HUD no matter what mode CCIP or CCRP. You are able to still pickle a bomb off and the chute does not deploy which is correct but you get no aiming method from the HUD. Ok so after so digging it would seem that the 82 is in a tail only fuze config. So therefore we cannot drop the 82 AIR as a LD bomb. So really not a bug then, It is correct. So the real question then would be any chance of getting this changed so we can utilize the AIR's full potential? Also just want to point out that all bombs in the game have the visual model of a nose fuze with the exception of the GBU-12/10s and the CBUS of course. Alright disregard the RIP qty thing for some reason i wasn't thinking right on that. Thanks for all the help in advance Jason

Yeah im with pod on this one I think we got Johns little issue solved! Good to know.
-
John- can you get a screen shot of your DSMS and your profile page. So i can see your sgl/prs rotary and your load out? Also your talking about the RIP always saying 1 right? @luza hmmm invalid fuzing going to have to dig into the books to see that one. ED quite possible may not have modeled that which if they didnt would be a bummer that option made the AIR pkg very versatile.

gonna fire up the old sim and give her a go sit tight back in few hopefully with more insight!
-
hmmm lets see here. Assuming you have MK-82 AIRs. Than there are 2 possible ways to handle this. First, from the DSMS page, click PROF in the upper left corner than find the munition of choice and click view prof. From there you can modify whatever you want lets say we want to drop CCIP instead of CCRP. Click the button on the bottom right corner that say CCRP and it will change to CCIP. Also in the top rightish corner we have our arming option N/T N or T. Dropping an AIR in N/T will result in a high drag drop dropping an AIR in N will result in a low drag drop. Ok once you have made your changes dont forget to hit the flashing save prof button in the top center of the MFD. after that all should be good select the prof and it should work. Option 2 would be manual selection. use the master mode to select your desired mode CCIP/CCRP then hit the OSB next to the bomb you want to drop and BAM your set!

Dont use snakeyes anymore either straight up AIR or LD

Screw the rockeyes! Give me WCMD! Anytime you can guide a CBU to a target its going to be awesome!! Also USAF hasnt used rockeyes for a while IIRC

Please help me choose a HOTAS
Weaponz248 replied to Invisibull's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Wow so many choices! Anyway I would say straight up go with the Warthog if you have the money. Nothing will probably emerse you more in this game than the WH HOTAS. I have a X-52 that I use for games that rely heavy on rudder as I dont have a rudder pedal yet. I will not use it for DCS due to the lack of Hats. Personal preference but just not going to due it. Currently I use a CH setup with a pro throttle and a fighter stick. Best setup I have every owned. The programming for it is either easy or very advance. It all depends on what your level of knowledge is. I prefer easy. Only draw back is the trigger is single stage. Oh well i have gotten over it LOL! You asked about tension on the CH, well its not as stiff as a new X52 but mine also hasnt lost an stiffness so it is now stiffer than my X52. The throttle isnt a dual throttle but still is more than adequate to do the job. Very smooth and for the most part very accurate. The stick is almost an exact replica of the A-10 stick. All the buttons are in the same place for the most part. Its a cheap but very durable setup! I have had mine for about 5 years now and it hasnt lost a step! For both stick and throttle your looking at about 200 USD. Ok so out of your choices I would say WH. But if I were you I would look into the CH line. Good luck man! You can go wrong with any of them! -

good stuff Harm! Cant wait for a profile for the Comms. would love to talk to JTAC without pressing buttons!
-
@slammin yes I think they would. Why, you ask, Kuky summed it up nicely. @Kuky I sort of like the steam interface but if I must buy it again than I dont like steam that much LOL
-
The big question is If you preordered thorough the DCS website and they do release it on steam and the DCS website. Can you get it off steam without buying it again.
-
Its like riding a bike! LOL
-
Ah just cause you found the answer dosent mean others cant benefit from the thread.
-
Good info! Also you can lock a TGT up with your TGP/MAV/TAD and then request contact from the JTAC menu(option 4 or 5 IIRC) and JTAC will confirm that your locked TGT is correct.

Anytime man! Glad it helps!
