  1. Hello! Beta seems to pump out the new content fairly early...albeit very unstable, incomplete and buggy. I have been flying on Eagle Dynamics products since before DCS was even an idea. I exclusively play online and still choose the Stable or Alpha version. I simply prefer to learn how to fly the aircraft to the absolute edge of its envelope and learn all of its systems without any or very very few changes. In beta, you'll experience changes almost weekly
  2. Good Evening shurem! If I can help, I will gladly do so! The MiG-29 does in fact behave a bit differently at low speeds. Keep in mind that it does not have fly by wire, yet was designed to have a high degree of pitch authority even at very low speeds. Therein lies the issue of landing difficulty. Here is what I do to finesse those Fulcrum landings every single time. -Start your approach and maintain roughly 350-375 kph -Gear and Flaps down under 350 kph -Trim the aircraft so that the nose is either level or just barely dips on a 350 kph approach. -Touchdown at ~280 kph (plus or minus 20 kph depending on fuel level) and remember to never push the nose down. You should only have to control your descent by resisting the nose from falling to hard. Make sure the rear wheels touch first obviously but also remember to slightly flare just as the wheels touch and keep just a very tiny bit of throttle in as you land, if you pull to idle then you will certainly fall quickly. I promise you very very good landings even with short notice with just a little practice! Good luck and happy flying! I hope this helps
  3. Bad Idea for a niche community Currently, DCS is my absolute favorite sim and go to hobby! What ED and the rest of these developer companies do is nothing short of amazing work. However, I can't always sit down and fly because life happens (work and school). Also, with a one time price.. one may consider that the amount of time that they've used the module and had fun was totally worth it, even for a relatively high price like the F-14 Tomcat. For example, I have spent enough time with the F-14 to feel like I've done okay with that $80. With a subscription, you'll never get there in regards to feeling like you've gotten your money's worth and may even sour the experience forcing you to learn, fly, and then give it up before you've spent north of $200 for the thing. I love DCS World and will always support the modules and add to the collection because it's such a great product! Literally the best! BUT I WILL COMPLETELY GIVE UP ON DCS WORLD IF THEY FORCE A SUBSCRIPTION... and I'd never think twice about it! On the contrary, I'd be open for the OPTION of a subscription OR full lifetime purchase. I think that's fair and will address most parties needs. As a final statement, I strongly recommend that all developer companies proceed about their funding plans in this regard very carefully. If they attempt to sell the idea that a subscription service would allow them to develop more effectively and they passed the idea, then later the end users find that subscription service was not to their liking for whatever reason (development time still slow, cost too much, bugs for months, etc.) it could potentially ruin DCS World for a lot of people forever. Please consider this.
  4. Hello PoorOldSpike! I don't seem to be having any issues in regards to this. I will say that I've always been impressed with the level of detail and realism that DCS has to offer. With that said, it is a real thing for the tail hook to bounce at times and "go around's" are pretty common in real life as well, so don't beat yourself up about it. Here's a few tips that hopefully help: ***1. Consistency is key! Make sure that your approach speed is between 133kts and 142kts depending on how heavy you are (go a little faster if you are heavier). Make note of your weight (fuel and hardpoints) and keep your approach speeds consistent relative to the loadout. ***2. I always approach with roughly 7 degrees of nose high and then I hold that all the way to the carrier deck (another way to think about maintaining this approach is "Throttle for altitude and pitch for speed".) edit - another quick note: You could smoothly and briefly go full back on the stick just as the wheels touch down to assist in "setting the hook".
  5. Hello! I came across your message this morning and I’m always looking for more folks to fly with. I have been with DCS since before DCS World was a thing (it was Lock-On before) and as a result I’ve acquired almost every aircraft and tons of experience! Anyone reading this is welcome to contact me on Discord. My username is xHUGHBACCAx #6123 I would love to help and hope to see some of you guys show up!
  6. edit- BTW, I do own almost all modules now, save for some trainers and some WWII birds. Tomcat is the favorite! on the plus side, it will out turn and out run an F-18 under most flight conditions.. ya just have to give it time and practice
  7. Anytime Baby! First of all, don't hold your breath for that discount.. it won't come for at least another year.. im serious. Second, just buy wherever you're comfy. And it's easily worth more than $80. As for the module, I'd say it's overall the best module period. No other module has been released so complete and beautifully done (and with an album of its' own!) Also, don't worry about Jester, I'd say they NAILED it!(plus they keep updating it anyways) In fact, Heatblur did so well, that I will be buying their next module in early access. That's how much many of us trust them. So whatcha waitin' for?! Go get it! Anytime Baby!
  8. Hmmm, sounds pretty bad. I really wish I had the answer to this one but i've simply never seen anything like that. Just for starters, make sure your computer meets the minimum requirements. Especially important to have at least 16Gb of RAM standalone and 6 or 8Gb of memory on your video card to add to it. Personally, I wouldn't pass anything less than a 1060 class card from Nvidia unless you tone down everything to bare minimums. My thinking is that your issue has to be hardware related. I wish you luck with this one bud, if I come across anything I'll reach out to you.
  9. Now this, along with the Balkans would be awesome!!
  10. Hi Bloody_gums, As far as connection issues go, if he would like to host instead, he'll need to port forward it seems. It's a pretty easy process actually and if you need help with that just let me know. Though there are plenty of guides online, I don't mind walking you though it. As for the graphical issues, I don't think iv'e ever come across those problems. It's likely a hardware related issue. Are you playing on dated equipment by chance? And finally, for the pause button...that one seems odd, it should work no problem unless your game is freezing up entirely. Just make sure you are slaving the command keys to "pause" and not the "active pause" feature.
