  1. Yes, I'm aware, 20, not 80. DMarkwick changed to figures or did not notice that I wrote 20% show ==> 80% NOT show. Anyway, since you're all experts on probability, I give up. My knowledge is only based on 3 different stats/probs courses, two in the context of my Mechanical Enginering degree.
  2. That would be 32% chance nothing shows up.
  3. Your probability calculations are not accurate, if I may say so. If they have 80% chance of not showing up, they could ALL not show up. Or they could all show up.
  4. It's the same on north-american QWERTY keyboards: single quote/apostrophe (')
  5. I noticed you need both intercom and VHS-2 power for this to work. You'll notice that the music is still playing under the FM band, only not as loud, which is not correct and takes up PC resources.
  6. Just sharing info... I installed the drivers/System Tray application for eDimensional 3D glasses and found out that Single Player Launcher.exe crashes when the eD application is running. The installation itself does not cause problems. Multiplayer opened the main menu, but I did not launch a server to test. I suspect it would crash too.
  7. Let's not forget that all this is due to the fact that we can't put more than one client per group. If we could, there would be hardly any need to copy the same waypoints/fix/tp from one group to the other(s).
  8. Yes, precision is one thing, and agreed it's not very important. I don't want a copy for the exactness of the positioning. Just to save some repetitive work. But to the mission designers, each human pilot (client) slot requires the same amount of work and clicking. 4 clients => 4 times the work! It took me 30 minutes to setup a sandbox multiplayer mission - for one player. Good enough, given my experience. The second player, 20 mins. The third, 20 minutes. The fo... :)
  9. Do templates copy waypoints (position-speed-altitude-type-), target points and fix points? I haven't seen it. If drift is intended, it should be coded - not rely on the ability (or inability) of mission designers to position at pixel precision, the same waypoints over and over. (4 x 6 = 24! It adds up!) Yes. This is not a big thing, and might have deep roots in the game engine architecture, like the scoring system (points/mission fail, etc.). We are able to communicate as desired, it's just that most people fail these days for lack of knowledge of the systems and their usage.
  10. This is so lame! Ok, whatever engine limitation there is, the mission editor is very good, but could be made a lot better we all agree. CTRL-C CTRL-V Wouln't that be nice? CTRL-SHFT-V (paste *special, with options to select Units / Units-including flight plan) And it's not just a matter of being lazy; with multiple flight plans, the ABRIS or PVI coords don't match between helicopters. Don't reply "IRL, PVIs from different helicopter drift differently." If the community is to thrive, put the right tools in our hands. From now on, we'll be using the Mission Editor far more than ED themselves.
  11. Welcome to the forums. Enjoy BS. Black Shark, that is... That is a known issue in the damage model of static objects. The Shooting Range mission, for example, suffers from its targets being all static. As for the ramming Mi-24's issue, sounds like bug. I don't think ED can reply it's a feature. :)
  12. LALT-c. RTM.:book: Only two modes; head movement or clickable cockpit (yellow cross). A bug, to be turned into a feature in the next patch - so I read - is that you get both head movement AND clickable cockpit after exiting the Esc dialog when initially in clickable cockpit (so from the game you hit Esc twice consecutively). This is not useful if you have TrackIR.
  13. Then I guess we need some interior! I have not yet witnessed a door opening. Thanks.
  14. The "furniture" inside the hardened aircraft shelters / hangars appear useless to me and represent 24 textured triangles more to potentially draw. Useless, unless you show me how to open the door. :music_whistling: -- And is that a shadow of the door? I only have "Active Planar" for shadows. It doesn't look like a baked shadow, but it ain't a computed shadow either, since differently-facing hangars have the same dark polygon.
  15. Flares FPS tweak See here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=40818&highlight=flares+fps&page=2
  16. The external view is to benchmark the effect of gfx settings, such as Exhaust Blur... and dynamic lights! When I play multiplayer, the 3 choppers in front of me, I see from the outside (External) view. Agreed? Leave your lights=2 and stay in your cockpit. :smilewink:
  17. Improved FPS with "lights" graphics tweak PeterP +1 That's EXACTLY what I'm looking for. Thank you! It is somewhat "documented" in the Readme1.0.txt file, but no mention of "lights": "Some graphics options can be set in the options.lua file found in the \...\BlackShark\data\scripts folder. Specifically, you can change water to either '1' (low setting) or '0' (texture only). If you experience a frame hit when inside a dust cloud, setting the effects parameter to '2' will disable the visual effect." I just gained 3 FPS on F2 External View.
  18. What does "3. Dive planes beacon light mod" do? Where is it available? -- EDIT: Never mind, found it on this site. Not what I'm looking for.
  19. Yes, I am aware... This is benchmarked with a custom, empty mission to test graphics output, avoiding the CPU bottleneck. My FPS goes to 12 at the begining of the Altitude mission. Over cities 22-26, less crowded areas 40-50, sky 70-80 :) My point is that I want to be able to lessen the "weight" of this feature, before I fly multiplayer formation. The difference between 22 and 27 FPS is very important to people with equipment such as mine. If this is not fixed, I will ask all players on my server to leave the beacon off.
  20. A single lit anti-collision beacon "costs" me 3-6 FPS, when seen from outside the helicopter. I would like to see this improved, or have an option for a simpler beacon rendering, maybe with no cast light on neighbouring objects (the effect is really cool, but framerate-hungry) :smartass: --- HP A1740N* : Intel E6300 @ 1.87 GHz, 2 Gb RAM, nVidia 8800 GTS; Windows Vista Home Premium SP1
  21. I love my TrackIR ABSOLUTELY! Once you've gone TrackIR, you can't stand being 5 seconds in the sim without it. REALLY. -- I had two of my friends buy Black Shark AND TrackIR5. I each had them on the phone when they first "toured" their cockpits. To my delight, I heard both let out this evil laugh... the initiated know what I'm talking about...:D Find out for yourself!
  22. Realistic mode controller requirements Yes, I fully agree. Forget about all easy modes related to flight model and avionics. But before you do that, get some decent hardware. You absolutely need an analog collective input, not the keyboard. Rudders are a close second must-have. A twist-handle stick is acceptable - some like it, some don't. Enjoy the sim. :book::joystick::book::joystick:
  23. I do activate the range finder on the first Vikhr, to get the Shoot © in the HUD. After, I just designate. My point is that the laser must be active, which it becomes after launch, even if you didn't have Target Lock (TA). As I seem to notice in the attached trk-track file, the range info is not valid for the remaining target - but still I hit them with pinpoint accuracy. Forgive me the one shot in manual override, since the erroneous range (0.2km) was rejected by the targeting computer. I get right back in Auto mode after. Finally, with this gathering of knowledgeable and eager-to-learn people, we come to the conclusion that there is an issue, be it lack of documentation or bug. Someone pointed out "Unlimited weapons"... It would be nice that the burnout feature be disabled when Unlimted is ON. Or else, it's kinda useless. --- Side note: I got a snag during this flight. Landed to check, to find out the NAV power switch had been left off by LWIN-Home (Auto-Start cheat)... :noexpression: Vikhr without Target Lock - Jack McCoy.trk
  24. How should we use the laser range finder? - Sparingly? Hi Ulrich. Granted it's a feature, is there any usage advice to avoid not frying our laser? As for myself, I shoot Vikhrs without triggering the range finder, since I believe they are beam-riding, and not unguided projectiles (rockets or gun) which require accurate range data to calculate their trajectory. I am wrong? If it's acceptable to shoot Vikhrs without range finding, would such a behavior help stay in the usage envelope or prolong the life of the laser? Is it recommended (useful in regards to the laser burnout feature) to reset the laser right after impact of the missiles instead of waiting for the countdown? Or is it recommended to put the Laser Off/Standby switch to OFF between usage? Thank you.
  25. The trim is always on. There is no real life indicator (aside from the position of the cyclic). As suggested, you may use RCTRL-Enter but you should soon find it useless in a mission. Trim reset should be considered "trim everything to "zero" or center". This is true regardless of the Flight Director mode.
