AI issue during landing when an airplane taxi
skybaby68 replied to cobragva's topic in Aircraft AI Bugs (Non-Combined Arms)
Sadly No! -
+1 .... bloody gutted. Just spent days creating an elaborate training flight in the Yak-52 using custom kneeboards, voiceovers and training helpers and and have only been testing it in desktop mode but came to fly it in VR and the cockpit highlights are HUGE!!!
-
Words fail me to the level of time and detail some people on here go to to help others!!! Many thanks indeed for this.

Thank you ... if and when you had the time I was wondering if you could do me the great honour of supplying a quick miz file exampling your last incredibly helpful paragraph. It would help enormously to see it and its parameters and thank you very much for taking the time in writing such a helpful response

Question on delayed triggers Hi. Hope all are doing well during these crazy times. Could someone give me some helpful advice on how I go about tackling a delayed trigger? I’ll explain .. I’m creating an L-39C startup and simple circuit tutorial mission with the inclusion of custom kneeboard plates for the start up then switching over to multiple ‘rear seat instructor’ voiceovers for the flight phase. Take off from Kobuleti, fly a wide left-hand circuit before coming in for run-and-break, Landing circuit with one touch and go and finally landing circuit to stop! All going well with the 33 detailed start up kneeboards in place and instructor voice overs throughout the flight up until the final approach before the touch and go. All voiceovers are using triggers and I have these in place along the runway and climbing out (“rotate, “gear up”, “flaps up” etc) and these are set to ‘switched condition” as I’d like them repeated if the player is back on the runway but over a certain speed, intending to ‘go around’ I want to put another trigger in place, on the runway, telling the pilot to “put flaps to mid and full power” to complete the touch and go but this trigger will share the same space as the initial take off triggers of “gear up” etc. A long-winded and perhaps over-complicated way of getting to my question (I’m crap at explaining things on text) ... but my question is ... How do I go about this “touch and go” trigger? I don’t mind it being a ‘ONCE’ trigger as there’s only one go-around before coming into land. I don’t want to use a ‘Time More than’ condition because one player might take 3 mins perform the ‘start up’ before getting to the runway and another may take 30 mins. Do I use flags somehow and if so ... how? I’m not terribly great with the concept of how the flag system works and so help needed. Would it be something to do with ‘Time since Flag’ etc? It’s worth noting that I’ve tried learning lua scripts in the past and it was like trying to read and understand Japanese (no offence intended to the Japanese language). My brain just doesn’t function like a computer programmer ???? It’s probably a simple solution and my waffling has somewhat over confused things but any help would be graciously received and learnt from. Thanks

I know that the Warthog base screw fitting dimensions are 60mm x 60mm whereas the WarBRD Base is 69mm x 111mm

Hi. I’m using the TM Warthog Throttle with the F/A18 Hornet Stick which is mounted to my GT Omega seat and cockpit frame by Obutto base mounts. I’m interested in upgrading my TM base with the VPC WarBRD Base as I’ve read its a good combination with the Hornet grip but apparently the base screw fixing dimensions are different therefore I would need a base mount to connect it to the cockpit frame. Here’s a quick video I made recently showing my setup exampling the base mounts I’m using. Basically I want to know if anyone knows of a WarBRD Base mount out there that connects to a frame. Thanks for any help.

A user created this incredible template to which the work must've been truly painstaking. Unfortunately the hit on frames due to the enormous amount of units makes it a slideshow in VR particularly so I tried the idea of using trigger zones ... splitting the area up into zones (10 in total) and making everything 'LATE ACTIVATION' with the idea of having relevant 'zonal' units spawn whenever an allied aircraft occupies that zone then all units disappearing once again once all allied aircraft have left the zone. This sort of thing I'm doing all the time in IL-2 GBS Mission Editor and so thought it would be beyond simple ...but ... :( Each zone has two lots of triggers .. a 'zone on' and a 'zone off' ... the 'zone on' uses 'part of coalition in zone' ... 'group activate' .... the 'zone off' uses 'all of coalition out of zone' ... 'group deactivate'. And all looked good, I flew around the different zones enjoying great frame rates as only the relevant zones became active and then deactive when I left the zone but on returning back to that zone (or another allied aircraft entering it, nothing would reappear). Little did I know that 'group deactivate' actually PERMANENTLY DELETES the units from the mission. I've tried all things from using ,ONCE. to 'SWITCHED CONDITION' TO 'REPETITIVE' and have replaced the GROUP ACTIVATE/GROUP DEACTIVATE with GROUP AI ON/OFF, GROUP STOP etc but nothing else works so I thought I'd post this incredible work of Stuart666 here along with what I tried to do. If anyone with the knowledge could get it working whereby the units spawn, despawn, respawn as necessary, it would be a wonderfully great template made even better. Cheers. Normandy flak test.miz

Thanks for the response. Wow I can't believe that you can't do this. I've tried GROUP AI ON/OFF aswell as a plethora of other things and the units are always there in mission. I've tried scripting and it just makes absolutely no sense to my brain in the slightest I'm afraid. Oh well. Back to IL-2 Mission Editor it is then. Again ... thanks for the reply and info.

Hi. I'm wanting to simply make flak units appear once a trigger zone has been 'sprung' and then 'disappear' when the player is 'out' of the trigger zone. I've included a mission example (Normandy map with P-51D). I tried messing around with the trigger conditions going from 'Once' to 'Repetitive Action' to 'Switched Condition' Nothing works on the 1st 2 but the 'Switched Condition' at least the flak units spawned and then de spawned once all of 'blue coalition' was out of zone but I want them re-triggered when another blue unit enters the zone and so forth but they didn't re-spawn when the P-51 turns back into the trigger zone. From what I've done (created triggers for each flak zone whereby the groups activate then deactivate), I notice that they stay 'deactivated' I'd like to stay away from this lua if possible as I just don't understand it at all. Is it something to do with 'flags' by any chance (something which I'm struggling to fully understand also). Any help would would be greatly received. Thanks. Normandy flak test.miz

"Cannot exit offline mode due to hardware ID change" ???
skybaby68 replied to skybaby68's topic in Payment and Activation
Thank you -
AAAAARGH ... Please someone. Like so many others, I've been working solidly as a key worker throughout this pandemic and have looked so forward to 4 wonderful days with DCS and last night after having internet connection problems, I switched to offline mode and there started my problems. I run the DCS stable version (2.5.5) and I have it installed on my 2 pc's ... I use the main for VR gameplay and the other for mission editing. In all the years I've been with DCS I've never had problems but now today, and in readiness of a beautifully sim-filled weekend, I'm confronted with a window "DCS Login Failed" followed by ""Cannot exit offline mode due to hardware ID change. Ask for support" (which I've done but I fear that everyone will be off on their well-earned Easter lockdown). I was so desperate that I downloaded and installed DCS OpenBeta 2.5.6 (I purchased the Supercarrier the day the pre purchase appeared so I guess it's something I would've had to have done anyhow) and I get the same Login error message along with a window that I find very very hard to read without a tinge of anger ... a list of all the modules that Ive spent hundreds and hundreds of pounds on that are labelled "UNAUTHORISED TO USE" It's worth pointing out that I have not changed any such hardware, software, or anything at all. If someone could help, maybe it's happened to them to ... then any info at all would be so hugely appreciated. It was a long running joke at work that I was going to be locking myself down for 4 days of DCS and now this happens ....

Hi. Using Reverb Pro in 2.5.5. and wanting to have a go as a door gunner but the view is facing inward to the gunner seat rendering it completely useless. I've just been scouring this forum but can find no helpful info on how to rectify this. I've tried both with and without the Track IR aiming and doesn't do a thing. Checked to see if I'm missing something in the Huey Special Controls menu but there's nothing. Am I missing something really silly here or is it a known bug?

 Hmm this is very strange. I tried this per video last week and it didn't work for me. I open a mission file (miz) using both winrar and then 7Zip, created a folder called 'KNEEBOARD' then inside that created a folder called 'IMAGES' dropped my 550x880 standard kneeboard-sized PNG files into IMAGES but didn't work. (Curiously for me, I can't seem to get mission-specific kneeboards to show on any aircraft). Something I must be doing wrong somewhere. I do have to say I get completely bamboozled and confused at 07:00 on the video when this other guy comes over the top and tells you to do it in a completely different way but the screen goes black

Ah great that it's on the to do list as it's such an awesome mod. Being a VR flyer I make my own custom kneeboards covering various procedures and stupidly I went ahead and made the kneeboards without 1st checking that it was working in the plane or not. (I just assumed it was). These are actual size and I make them as 550x800 jpegs but if you'd still like them I could always upload them to my dropbox.

This truly is a great mod,. Could you please help me out with a problem regards to Kneeboards. I've created my own kneeboards as well as having downloaded others and unlike other modules, they are not showing up ingame. (curiously enough the only kneeboard page showing up ingame is page 102 of the manual, no other pages). I've put the png files into my Saved Games/DCS/Kneeboard folder and in there I've created a folder called MB-339PAN and dropped the png files (550x800 like my others) in there as per instructions. Other kneeboards show fine but not the MB339. I've also tried jpeg variations and put them directly into the Saved Games/DCS/Kneeboard folder (not in a specific aircraft folder to see if the kneeboards show up in all other modules which they do). I've also tried dropping them into Saved Games/DCS/Mods/aircraft/MB-339PAN/Cockpit/KNEEBOARD/pages but again they don't show. Any help would be wonderful. I'll send an example of one of my kneeboard pages. Thank you in advance. Baz

How do I include image jpegs & custom mp3 files in a mission?
skybaby68 replied to skybaby68's topic in Mission Editor
Hi thanks for your reply. I've been playing both DCS & IL-2 for years and do realise that they are both different in approach. I don't wish to add video in a mission ... just images. I would find it staggering to know that this couldn't be done, given that you have access to a kneeboard etc. All I wish to be able to do is create a personal interactive training video using the plates I've created & it was my idea to share my work to help other VR users in a realtime scenario. I get that the cockpit is clickable. I'm not trying to force any approach to anywhere as my interactive training missions for Il-2 wasn't really an 'IL-2' way. Re your suggestion of loading up a training mission, thank you I will certainly try that but really wanted something so much more and thought that images in the mission environment were achievable but thank you for your info and time in replying -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l10QsKHE7cE&feature=youtu.be A short video example. Ideally created to help the VR user & with the detailed start up sequences in DCs, these interactive realtime training scenarios would come in very handy indeed imo. Any help would be greatly welcomed. -
How do I include image jpegs & custom mp3 files in a mission?
skybaby68 replied to skybaby68's topic in Mission Editor
Here's a couple of examples. example01.jpg is a plate taken from my DCS Harrier startup project. example02.jpg is a screenshot from one of my interactive training missions from the IL-2 mission editor. I'll try and upload an example video to better explain what I mean.
