Ok my opinion on this and it's not from a computer whiz. I'm 13 hours into my private pilot's license, I fly a Cessna 172 in FSX with VFR scenery of Scotland as it lets me practice my real world flying. I fly the A10 in ED because it is soooooooo much more realistic, when you fly circuits at least it all looks so much more realistic (I wish of course I was training in an a10 rather than a Cessna!). I'm fed up with flying circuits in Bantumi but it is soooooo better than flying FSX. I'm desperate to fly around Nevada. I've bought thrustmaster's warthog HOTAS and Saitek combat rudder pedals and tracker 5 and they all make this study sim so much better and suck me in until I'm flying the jet for real - to my wife's horror! I would love to fly a fast jet sometime soon, but frequently augering in the A10 I know I'll never be a fast jet whiz - leave that for the young uns as I'm a grand old 51 year old. I love the huey for it's iconic status but want to focus on fixed wing for my real world pilot work, I'll not buy it as I did the P51 (never flown). I just wish they would focus on releasing EDGE and Nevada - they would make an old man sooooo happy. This product is the best, no one can argue otherwise; I was an enormous fan of falcon 3 and 4 but this is a different world again and is as close as I will ever be to appreciating what the UK and America's brave men endure for our countries so well done ED, thanks and Pleeeeeeeaaaaase release Nevada soon and forget about the other jet modules for a wee bit longer.

Not sure where this question should go - I'm using trackir5 and have thrustmaster hotas how can I use the joystick hat to adjust trim rather than change view? I installed by torrent overnight both the 5Gb DCS world and a10 module, installed them today and selected a different drive - both owrked fine and didn't need serial number or lost an installation. Can now remove the older version from my C drive and free up some space. Works a treat even finally managed to get my brake pedals workign properly. First three landings were the best ever !!! Thanks for the update Matt Don't know about the huey - I bought the p51 and never fly it, bought blackshark and lost activation key but never flew it - hog all the way for me, might be tempted though after all it is such an icon isn't it!!! yep standard procedure for me, get into the pit, crash, repeat, crash open the manual get into the pit and crash again.... repeat - my wife just doesn't understand !

I am really struggling to find an answer in the multitude of threads. I;ve finally bought a new computer (chillblaster flight sim machine) which comes in a week. I hope it will run DCS and FSX teh way they should be enjoyed. Could someone please talk me through how I deactivate on the old system and reinstall one the new system. I've downloaded most up to date DCS world and the two modules I run, A10 and mustang. Any help / instructions appreciated. Ian

Nevada delayed a "bit", a "bit" ?? - hmmm maybe his memory will prove equally faulty when it comes to remembering the the long suffering beta supporters were promised it would be included in their purchase price for no extra cost? I stopped flying the sim over this issue of continously broken promises and spurious release dates after buying rudder pedals thrustmaster hotas and trackIR, all I wanted to do was fly it over some desert terrain. I'm enjoying FSX again and chasing my PPL in the real world. You lost a very loyal fan ED over delaying that one part of your product and instead branching out in a million different directions with all sorts of promises of amazing new releases that will all have to be flown over the black sea, trees trees and more trees. obviously it would be too much to ask if nevada will be released with this new version but of course "it will be ready when it's ready"

I've bought every ED product and bought TM Warthog HOTAS, combat rudder pedals and TrackIR - despite that I think they have lost me as a loyal beta purchasing customer - their behaviour over the Nevada scenery debacle has been so disappointing - are they seriously saying they can't get this achieved and instead pump resources into other projects? IT's like watching and listening to the delays on the A380 at least that was finally released!

Just put it down to yet another one of life's empty promises, " A-10 beta purchasers receive this as per agreement" an easier way to see it is imagine a politician told us they were taking Nevada away but it would soon return and would be bigger and better... tumbleweed slowly moves across a silent desert scene and we all go back to flying about the black sea again and again and again and again ..... thanks ED with customer information of this quality you could be working in Scottish tourism!

Oh well there we are, I did indeed delete everything off of my computer. I installed DCS world and then my 2 modules, that's me down to 7 installations on A-10 now thanks ED. However as Nate suggested I do I then ran the repair option from the start menu and the game started, I set up my Hotas, rudder pedals, Trakir etc etc and settled back to see if it would all work the way it was before I downloaded the updates..... loaded a mission pressed fly and get this screen message; Ive e-mailed the error report to your support guys as requested, no matter what I click on DCS then stops running and I'm back to my desktop then it restarts and gives me a very empty mission report. So there we are, a fine simulator I invested all this kit for and now rendered unflyable by an update. I've lost yet another installation license, and what am I to do now - delete it all again and install the A10 but no P51 lose yet another intallation license and wait to see what happens then? Oh maybe not, perhaps I had better forget about my wasted Sunday and go to bed ready for work tomorrow. I certainly do feel negative now if I only sounded negative earlier - thanks again ED .

ok I'll delete everything then install DCS world and then the 2 modules I own, the mustang and A10 is this right? Here are screen shots to show what I'm getting since I uploaded the latest updates and run the simulator. Any easy way I can save my logbook details and missions? Will I get asked for serial numbers etc? Thanks for any help - such a shame I was so looking forward to a relaxing sunday flying - instead I get computer angst :-(

Ok installed the module again, wasnt given the opportunity to run a "repair function" restarted the game, everything looks fine - start a mission and once I hit pause break Im sitting in an A10 it's transparent I can only see the gun in front of me, the runway and HAS etc. theres no sound and F2 F3 and F4 views are all normal - how can I get back to the previous version when at least I can fly. I've bought rudder pedals the Warthog throttle and stick and a trackIR and I can't even fly this bloody thing - come on guys help me out ....If you people are experiencing missing cockpits it means the module has not installed correctly. To remedy, install the module that is missing - then run the repair function in the DCS start menu entry. Nate

sorry dont understand that - I mean when I load any mission or set one up in the editor when it starts - im left with a transparent cockpit view with things like the entire gun in view but no panel instruments etc

ok disaster, loaded 1.2.1 and new mods and update works too - all good. Load a mission and it starts with me sitting in a transparent plane WTF ?? how can I go back to 1.2.0 which was working fine? Anyone help please?

I've bought all three - the hog is the one, the more you learn the better it gets and suddenly ramp starts and landings are a cake walk as you're trying to master mavericks and LGBs and a million other things.

The update is... it's comming, it will be here in May, sorry, the end of the year, sorry next year, sorry 2014 but only if you buy another three beta versions of the next aircraft they release after all we were all stupid enough to do it for a10c so they removed it at beta 2 for a laugh. Cheers guys and the deafening silent updates really really help !

can you name one please - I have obviously deleted my old torrent downloads of betas and enjoyed flying the nevada landscape
