  1. If I follow the instructions for editing a waypoint in the PVI on page 6-63 of the flight manual it doesn't work. After I enter the N/S coordinate I cannot continue. Can anyone correct me on this proceedure? Thanks
  2. Yes, but in the mean time can the PVI convert dollars to yen?
  3. Hi everyone, I've noted how many are looking for a FREE Voice Activated Command program. I too have tried several of them with mixed results. VAC is the only one I've found that really works well and is easy to use. It accepts just about whatever microphone you have and has a GUI profile editor, which is a lot easier to use than writing scripts. And, I can tell you from first hand experience that you won't find better product support anywhere. If you're like me, you probably invested a minimum of about $70. for BS and whatever upgrades you needed to get it running well on your computer. VAC is well worth the small registration fee to get you off the keyboard and back into the cockpit.
  4. I downloaded VAC 2.3.1. The installshield failed with a message that "the wizard was interrupted before VAC could be completely installed". The author was very cooperative and spent a lot of time and effort resolving that problem for me. It's rare to find that kind of product support these days. I highly recommend VAC. WAG, A VAC function would be a terrific added feature for future releases. It adds to immersion and realism while reducing the cockpit (keyboard) workload.
  5. As per my Post #33, I'm no longer having stoppages since updating my video driver. From what I've read in this thread I get the impression that these stoppages are likely hardware/driver related. Might be a good place to start looking. I'm having another problem with the Georgian Oil Wars Campaign. At around mission ATO-B-P4.3 the campaign progresses forward for several missions and then I encounter overwhelming superior air forces. That enemy configuration continues as the campaign moves back though three to four earlier missions. Then, this cycle repeats. There doesn't seem to be a way to get past this condition. Needless to say, my Mission Success Rate is below 50% at this point. After repeating this cycle too many times, and also the repeats due to driver problems, I've abandoned the Georgian Oil Wars Campaign. Can anyone tell me whether this endless repeat cycling is a result of my failures or, if a campaign problem, would restarting a new campaign resolve it? If so, how can I start a new campaign? Thanks.
  6. Chopper Pork, "You can only trim for a given airspeed". First, obtain the forward pitch angle and power (throttle) setting to reach the desired airspeed. Then, trim to hold that angle. It's easiest to do this in level flight. With the trim set you can then climb or descend at the trimmed airspeed by changing just the power setting.
  7. Whenever you are having trouble controlling the aircraft remember: "When you are doing it right, you are hardly doing anything". I've always found that idea to be a good indicator of control "quality". When you find yourself fighting the controls, review what you are doing in the manual. Are the V speeds, attitudes and rates within operating limits, etc? Are the systems properly and correctly set?
  8. EvilBivol-1 &EtherealN, Thanks for the reminder fellows. I got so wrapped up in problem solving that I forgot how the Campaign functions. Pogo was right. "We have met the enemy and he is us".
  9. This may be a bug. It's certainly a problem. I've been having the same endless cycle of repeating missions in phase two of the Campaign that Cradle describes in his Post #1. I recently got my score button functioning and checked the score during one of the repeating missions. It said 100%. I recalled my wingman and headed for the barn. Just before landing I again checked the score. It said 20%. As expected, I was not advanced in the Campaign. I had this happen again in another mission. It seems random. The next time it occurs I'll upload the files. Has anyone else seen the Mission Score do this?
  10. I found a solution to the non-functioning Score key. This works in both the Real and Game modes. The problem I had was that the ['] key was shown for the Score function on the Options menu. But, it wouldn't work there or in the missions. It also wasn't on the list of keys in the drop down menu in the Key/Button box. The following answer was to use the same process I found for fixing a similar problem with the Comm's Menu key. Under Options/Controls, press the key you want to edit. In the case of my Score ['] key not auto selecting on the Options menu I had to manually scroll to the Score line and highlight it. Click on Clear, then on Add. Instead of selecting another key from the drop down menu line in the Key/Button box, again press the same key you are editing and the software will automatically assign a letter combination. In the case of my American/English keyboard the Score function was assigned [ ':; ] (apostrophe, colon, semi-colon) no left, right brackets. The ['] key now functions and displays the score. Although not needed for missions, it's nice to be able to display the score as an indicator of mission progress. Sometimes it's helpful in deciding whether or not to rearm and return to the battle.
  11. Thanks Slug88. Now I know where the Score should appear. The ['] Key is assigned to the Score function on my Options Menu but doesn't work. Depending upon the keyboard country assignment I think this is another key assignment game similar to the Great Comms Key Mystery. That's OK. At least now I know what I'm looking for. When I figure it out I'll post it here. Thanks all.
  12. RtherealIN, Thanks for the quick reply. I'm confused. Not only do I not know what key displays SCORE but, what screen the score appears on, ie; Briefing, Cockpit view, Debrief? I can't find any reference to a "Score" in any of the manuals or key command lists. Or have I overlooked the obvious again?
  13. Where is this "score" displayed? That is, on what screen? Also, what key triggers it? I have an American English keyboard.
  14. This campaign sounds interesting and is certainly needed. If possible, please make it available for downloading from a another FTP. Rapidshare is a pain to deal with. Also, you would reach more end users with ZIP format, rather than RAR.
  15. Update to my prior posts concerning mission stoppages in Georgian Oil Wars. I updated my video driver and have not experienced any further stoppages, even when replaying missions with a history of this problem. I'm now well into the Oil Wars with no problems at all.
  16. Ed, Same as post #30 above, except this occurred running the updated Georgian Oil Wars 1.1. See attached. Unable to upload crash and error logs. Good luck. DxDiag.txt LastMissionTrack.trk
  17. Ed, In the Georgian Oil Wars, Phase 2 I'm having more random stoppages in many SP missions. Changing the cone formations does not improve the crash rate. I have Patch 1.0.1 installed, Vista 32, no add ons. No problems with any other campaigns or missions. See attached .trk, .error, .crash files. Hope this helps.
  18. In mission ATO-B.P3.4 the mission again stops as above. But, changing or jettisioning the external tanks does not help. The mission stops any time I fly within 2km of waypoint 3. This is definately a campaign killer. Does anyone know of a workaround to continue the campaign?
  19. Dragon, These are very realistic, engrossing missions set within challenging topography. Great work!
  20. In the Georgian Oil Wars, Phase 2, mission ATO-B-P4.3, the program stops and a Vista error window pops announcing that "the program has stopped working and will close". The program then goes to the debrief screen where the scores are all zero. In my previous post concerning ATO-B-P3.3 I was able to run the mission by editing out the overcast skies. However, this current mission just keeps crashing, regardless of what I edit out to lighten the system load and improve frame rate. UPDATE: I discovered that if you change the inboard pylon payload from external fuel tanks to rockets, any type, prior to takeoff these missions play without error in the campaign. I also found this to be true in the Courier single mission. The program freezes seem to be related to missions that have external fuel tanks included in their default payloads.
  21. In the Georgian Oil Wars, Phase 2, mission ATO-B-P3.3, The program stops and a Vista error window pops announcing that "the program has stopped working and will close". The program then goes to the debrief screen where the scores are all zero. The details of the error are: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: dcs.exe Application Version: 1.0.1.0 Application Timestamp: 4a7acae0 Fault Module Name: ZweiBlau.dll Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 4a79748b Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 000120df OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.768.3 Locale ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 3311 Additional Information 2: 38a4fb6e0136c71b73ee49b1743b7892 Additional Information 3: eaff Additional Information 4: a548d147c22b40bbaeaab6fd2709233e This error occurs at random times during the mission and doesn't seem related to screen activity. When I run this mission outside of the campaign, that is as a single selected mission, it runs without error. Hope this helps. I would upload data on this problem, but cannot figure out how to do that on this site. I'd appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction. ADDITIONAL INFO ADDED 10/24/09: I've found that the above error can usually be triggered by zooming in on the Shkval screen (Ins/keypad2) during high mission activity. Also, that view will alternately cause a freeze up. When the Task Manager is brought up to close the program the following Vista Application Error message pops up: DCS:DCS.EXE Application Error The instruction at 0x0 CE 7220df referenced memory at 0x 00000000. The memory couldn't be written. Then, as above, the mission closes back to the debrief screen where the scores are all zero.
  22. I have Patch 1.01 installed. I tried making a movie in the editor using all of the various settings and keep getting the following error message: This application has requested the Runtime to terminate in an unusual way. Please contact the (etc).... Anyone know how to correct this?:helpsmilie:
  23. I had the same experience with my Saitek ST-290's roll and rudder occasionally ceasing to function. I found that if I unplug and reconnect its USB plug the controls recenter and operate correctly and reliably again. I suspect a marginal contact in the USB plug or connector that occasionally goes open. When that happens the Saitek software shows that the roll and rudder centering have shifted off center. At any rate, it's any easy fix and can be done by pausing the sim.
  24. As followup to the inability to replay a mission after installing Patch 1.01, I've found that clearing the system cache seems to resolve the issue under Vista 32. XP has similar caching quirks so clearing it may help. Also, running a system optimizer like CCleaner will help prevent the occasional BS glitch.
