Real pilot here (over 100 aircraft from gliders, props, jets, airliners). This bird has the best flight model in my opinion (love the huey and F-15 too). It's not perfect but it is what I would expect. I cross the fence at 300 keep the power on till touchdown. I make small adjustments in power and pitch to control my sink rate. One way to help with the view is to do a curving base to final (this would be similar to an approach in a Pitts bi-plane). This allows you to see the runway till the flare. I find I keep going back to the Mig-21. Leathernecks did a great job on this module.

Here's my problem. Like I said I don't want to make another user name/ password. If someone knows the fix please just repost it here. Thanks
-
Can you post the fix? I don't really want to create another login for another forum. I can't see their forum w/o a login. I have the same problem. Thanks
-
Ah, So your saying the pitchforks worked? Will you tell us more than "a" new product?
-
I agree. This was funny at first. It's now been over played. Show us a wheel or landing gear............something. I thought we were going to see something a month ago. Oh well. I will still buy it because the Mig-21 was so good. Let the "Cat" out of the bag already.

Ha ha , I thought for a minute it was an F-111 too. If you slow-mo the video there are two F-5 sitting on the apron behind the Su-24.
-
Ah ha! Matt included two F-5s sitting on the end of the runway at groom lake during the Mig-15 Bis landing video. I asked for a video and Wah-Lah. I'm not sure if that was intentional. If it was, Thx! Hoping for a closer look.

http://www.mudspike.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/01/Black-Sea-1.jpg Please tell us this will be flyable someday. What a beautiful model! Can we see a video, or a few more shots of it? Thx

I guess what I'm saying there appear to be an extra amount of sounds. Some of the sounds other modules don't even include (gear clunking into the wells). Their are sounds I wouldn't have expected like the hand brake. For my first 3 flights, I'm really impressed. I did read that they will add more/ correct other sounds. Time to take it back I the air and play.

I wasn't planning on buying this module. I decided what the heck during the sale. I have had 3 takeoffs and only 2 landings. There was a dead stick in there where I didn't make the runway. I'm am blown away with the details. The sounds are perfect! The second takeoff I built up speed took it straight up to see if it would flame out. At 43000 gliding vertical she flamed out. As the plane nosed over and built up speed I went for the relight. Boom, I'm back in business I brought it back to the pattern and wanted to pop the chute. It was AMAZING! This is one of the most detailed modules. Nice job guys! PS if you do the Tomcat A model I have some killer schemes that would be great for it. Also I know a few tomcat guys that might help you out if you need it. PM if your interested. Kroll

Thanks guys. No luck though. I think the only option is to reinstall.

Hi Bignewy, I have windows 8, For some reason I can't find that folder programs/ Eagle dynamics/ and that's where it ends. I tried to find the temp folder under users and I don't have that file either. Do you have any other ideas how to get it to reinstall this latest patch? Thanks for your time.
-
Any idea how to get it to switch to the PFM? All the textures all look new. However, it still has the simplified flight model. Thx
-
Sorry if this is posted somewhere else. Does the latest patch have the PFM? If so I missed the memo. I can fly it in the Beta version of DCS. Is it in the Normal patched version of DCS? When I fire up the normal DCS I'm still flying the old flight model. If it is in the new patch how do I get my patched version to work? Thanks

As a real pilot who has flown many high performance jets (not the eagle). I'm really impressed with the eagles flight model. Most of the other flight model feel pretty good too. I have not gone crazy exploring the eagles flight model but so far it feels really right to me. I love the buffet now ( the sound and shake). It gives the jet a very realistic feel to me. The f-86 has a heavy/ sluggish at the slow speeds that does feel a bit off to me. I may not have things set right on my end. It feels a little like a lead sled. Overall, I'm pretty impressed with the flight models these guys are creating. I'm not trying to discount your impressions though. Just my 2 cents.

I agree with Rivvern. DCS has moved way beyond the stand alone game. I still haven't got my version up and running yet. I have the CD and keys. It's just idiotic to spend 30 mins installing this and that. I just ran out of time trying to figure out the order I need to download. There should be a short cut to this process. Nobody here is trying to rip anybody off. At this point there should be a short cut so we don't have to install BS1 then apply a patch then try to remove BS1 from our computers. Most of us have families now and time is limited. Just trying to get all my modules up and running. Just my two cents.

My bad. I figured it out. I didn't download the upgrade (patch). I downloaded to full game and tried to patch that. Thanks Cichlidfan

What do I need to do? Same issue, only I have store bought copy of BS and the DL of Blackshark2. On my new rig I've only installed BS2 from the DL. Was I supposed to install the hard copy then the DL BS2? Thanks

Would you want/ allow flyable civilian aircraft in DCS
Kroll replied to Kroll's topic in DCS Wishlist
Hi guys, I personally have flown a 747 carrying troops in and out of Kuwait multiple times. Over Iraq in the middle of the night. Everyday our airlines fly troops and equipment in and out of military theaters. Anyone remember the 747-400 a few months back that had a load shift in Afghanistan? That was a military charter flown by a civilian company it was my understanding they were fly mrap s. DCS is moving in all different directions. In the coming years I'm sure theaters will change, more nav aids could be included, communication civi and military could be added quite easily. So when I asked if people would want civilian aircraft. It was meant to have hardcore civilian flyable aircraft. Where over time those items to make a cross country flight in a Cessna 172 enjoyable. Just because someone is flying a c-172 doesn't mean that the multiplayer server has to have a harrier jet in it. People who set up these multiplayer servers are going to make whatever senario they want. To in include or not include the aircraft of there choice. In my opinion if civilian aircraft are added in the future it would bring more people and developers into this simulation. That would mean over time a richer flying environment. -
1.2.5 64 bit only? Is this the update where we must be on 64 bit? Thx.

First off Howie get a sense of humor. It's a question. It is obvious that the majority of ppl answered yes. You can pick more than one answer. So you could have picked yes and that you want the Nevada terrain. It was not meant to be a totally serious poll. However, I think it's clear ppl are open to the idea. This is a flight sim period. It's just a matter of time before a civilian aircraft enters into this sim. Adding civilian flyables would add a lot to this sim. Obviously, there would servers that would not allow civilian aircraft or control the amount/ type of civilian aircraft. I'm curious why some ppl are threated by the introduction of a civilian aircraft. It can only add to this sim. There are tons of talented ppl out there that can make this sim get better and better. If you bring the FSX crowd in eagle dynamics has cornered the sim market. Think of all the airports that ppl would make. -
I'm just curious would a high fidelity civilian aircraft be ok by this group? Would DCS allow it? We know in the future it looks like we will time appropriate servers (ww2, Vietnam, etc). Everyday thousands guys fly airliners from A-B in a virtual airspace with in some cases guys playing as ATC. We all know that FSX flight models are garbage. In real life guys are flying around civilian stuff while military operations are conducted. Would you buy anything from a glider to a 747? All high fidelity. Just curious your thoughts.
-
No I meant Cessna c-172. It would bring a whole new level to have people flying around in civilian aircraft. Not to mention how big DCS would become. Everyday civilian aircraft are flying everywhere from gliders to a-380s. On a personal note I was flying a 747 over Iran as our government was probing with our stealth drones. I think something like a c-172 would sell like crazy. I personally just want to fly around and blow stuff up. But there are a ton of people that just fly from A-B in fsx. We all know how much that game sux. Sorry for the thread creep. I will start another thread.

This is great. I'm sure you will do a great job. This is great because it will pull a younger crowed into this sim. Not all young folks today want to fly a f-4 or a-6. If I had any idea how to make a model I would make the c-172. The more people we get the better. The way I look at it is just another choice for us. I personally want to see some Vietnam birds.

Haha, I just saw that right after I posted. Oops!
