I'm not sure if it is implemented yet or is planned. I think the windscreen/ glass needs some imperfections or scratches. This would really aid in the small movements trying to hover and fly. The glass looks perfectly clean and clear. Not trying to be critical just something I think would help. I wasn't going to buy the Huey at first. I've have to say I'm having a blast with this bird. The new flight model feels really good. Great job guys! I'm a happy customer.

Thanks, I'll try it tomorrow. Can you explain the throttle with regards to the Huey? Is it always full throttle? Do we reduce it in cruise flight? I get that it is used for higher rotor rpm. Anything else? Thanks.

Nice. Video, thanks. I'm having the same problem. Everything is smooth then all hell breaks loose around 40kts. Maybe it's my descent rate also I've never added more collective as I've slowed down. I'll have to try those things.

I think the sound is perfect. The early videos didn't do it justice. I still can't fly the chopper but it a pretty awesome module.

Dmitry, What would suggest windows 7 or windows 8? Thx

Hi guys, my system is old and due for a upgrade. That being said my system has been running really well since the last few patches. I understand they need to move on to 64bit. However, if I can milk this pig of a system a little longer, I will. The longer I wait the more the price will drop on the system I will buy. When COH2 comes out in June I will be running 64bit.

What might be kinda cool with the new Nevada map coming. There was a USAF squadron call the red hat squadron 4477. I'm not sure what type of mig-21 your making and whether or not its even close to the model that they used. There are pictures all over the net of some of the Russian jets used by the red hat squadron. Anyway it might be cool have one dressed up in those schemes. http://www.aviacionargentina.net/foros/aviacion-militar-mundial.5/167-alas-rojas-sobre-ee-uu.html My bad I see one page back someone already made one. Oops.

Thx I want to hold out as long as I can b4 I upgrade. Also, will there be a way to not update when that change happens. So that 32bit users can play without upgrading the game.
-
Can we still play with 32bit with this update 1.2.4?

I personally want to see aircraft specific vapor trails and shock waves. Also,I would love to see aircraft specific engine smoke.

These were made years ago. I'm sure in due time we will see that F-16.

I cleaned DCS world off my drive. Reinstalled 1.2.1... As I went into multi player it started to pop me for more activations. It appeared to stall on the P-51 activation and I never saw it ask for the A-10. Anyway it lets me in to the multi player menu. When I put my login and password in it comes back with Invalid serial number. Answer is here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=91898&highlight=invalid+serial+number

That's the specs I have. It runs fine for me. I actually think it runs smoother than A-10. I have not had any problems with the beta with 32 bit and 4 gigs.

Hi Prowler111, Any chance we could see some development shots of F-4, jaguar, tornado, t-37? Would the F-4 be a series aircraft? I've never seen an RF-4 in a sim. Can you add the f-8 to your list? I'm ready to give you my money. Your T-2 and A-7 series look awesome. Thx.

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
Kroll replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
DCS F-4? Ok someone spill the beans will there be a DCS F-4 by a third party? Please someone who has talent make this bird with several versions of it. Thx -
I was on there with you. What a blast huh? I will say after watching Wags video I need to upgrade my machine. His was silky smooth. My computer was freezing up at critical times. 32 bit isn't cutting anymore plus I'm probably dragging the whole server down.

Just played online. Awesome! Total fur ball. I think there were 16 of us in there. Now I just need to get a faster computer.

I gotta say this thing is FUN! I wasn't jumping out of my chair when I heard about the P-51. I love it! Go buy this beta! I flew three legs in a (real) Airbus came home and D/Led this. Wow! was I having blast last night. For those of you that don't have tons of time to learn everything about the A-10. This is the bird for you. Easy learning curve. You'll have the start down in a matter of minutes. That being said I love the A-10\ BS2 too. The flight model felt good. There are just a few nit picks I could say right now about it but for crying out loud it's in Beta. I hope they add more to this Era. Go buy it! I still really want to a peek at the next possible jet contenders. I'm really impressed with all your products. Great job guys the P-51 it's another hit!

I spoke with my friend about the brakes on the A-10. Use this information however you want. The aircraft will fly a ref at 130kts. Based on wt add 2x the fuel. So 2000 Lbs of fuel ref would be 134kts They fly the final with 40% boards to keep the engines spooled up for the go around. At touch down full boards. The boards alone will push you forward in the seat. He said they are like auto brakes 3 on the 737. They rarely use the brakes because full boards are more than enough. He said many times they must add power for the next exit which is about 3000-3500 down the rwy. When they use the brakes they are a bit grabby. The brakes are good brakes if you wanted to use them. Anyway, I'm happy with the sim I don't care if it gets fixed. I post his thoughts on the breaks as a reference of what the real jet really does.

I think you might be missing my point. I'm not talking about how the plane is used operationally. We're talking about the plane / flight model. I would bet money that the A-10 can stop way better in real life than it can in the sim. That being said I have not flown the A-10 so I really don't know. The only thing I didn't think about was the fact that the A-10 does not have reversers. That being said when a plane is design w/o them, the airplane will usually have some good brakes. The only plane I've flown without reversers is the Avro 85. The ref speed on that jet was about 122kts over the fence. It had huge brakes because it lacked reversers. With moderate breaking on the Avro starting at 80kts you could easily make a midfield turn off. That airplane was 93000 lbs. In fact most of the jets I've flown have a ref in the 120-145 range based on the weight of the flight. This is slow in my opinion. When you get into the 150- 170 range your cooking over the fence. So if Eagle were to add a little more cow bell, I mean brakes. The sim would have a better feel = better flight/ ground model. This is just my opinion. I may be wrong I'm sure there are A-10 guys on here that could clarify. Like I said this sim is awesome and I've only just scratch the surface.
-
Viper are you referring to the brakes being improved? That's great. A small tweak will go a long way to improving the feel of this sim. Now let's talk about the mid air refueling and the multi player connection.
-
The comment of the tires blowing after hot brakes and killing someone. It is possible but most aircraft tires have fuse plugs that melt out if things get to warm. I'm not sure if the A-10 has them though. I think these comments above are great in seeing the procedures that they use and why they do them. All I'm getting at is that if your solo with nobody behind you. Can you honk on the breaks and make the a mid-field turn off crossing the fence at 125Kts. 125kts is not that fast. Crossing the fence in the 150-170s is cooking (high performance winged jets) though.

Wow! Many responses. I'll try to answer some of your questions. This was just an observation over a period of landings maybe 100 or so. The A-10 is better on the ground than the SU-25T is in Flaming cliffs 2. With both of these though, there is a little bit of ice skating rink feeling. I know it's a sim and I'm well aware that it can never be compared to real life. I can land the A-10 fine. I don't blow out tires and all that stuff. I understand aero braking to save the brakes in real life. In real life though sometimes you've got to get on the binders and get the bird stopped. You really can't do that here. I cross the fence at about 125kts bleeding to 115 or so. All these landings were made with different configurations. For me when I play a sim I'm interested in the flight envelope of the plane and how it performs. I try to push things to the limits and thats where you find the flaws in flight models. I've been playing their sims from Flanker 1.0 and I've always enjoyed Eagle Dynamics flight models. I truely believe from my perspective they are the best at simulating real life flying. How to fix this? I believe Eagle should just make the brakes a little more effective. Make the tires grip or stick a little better for the side load feeling. I know this is easier said than done. I know most of this might be on my end since at best I'm a weekend flyer who uses the "W" key. If it never gets fixed that ok too. This so far is an AMAZING sim! Great discussion guys. I'm interested to see your data for the different landings Peter.
