  1. "It has been decided that we will release the Sniper TGP before creating an accurate LANTIRN pod to replace the existing Litening TGP" So then this statement from your other post no longer holds true? Cause from my understanding is that we would end up with both lantirn and sniper at the end and not a "it will just depend on time and resources" type thing.
  2. So are we still getting lantirn then? Cause your 2023 post makes it sound like we are, meanwhile this makes it sound like it's not.
  3. The tctos for EGI from my knowledge show EGI being fully added in 2007 for AD birds(This is seen in the avionics power panel being changed at that time to reflect EGI installs) and not being fully completed till around 2010 ish. Guard units may have gotten them earlier as it seems they tend to get stuff earlier since they are a different pot of money compared to AD units Needless to say ED choose a messy year to put as the reference for the 16
  4. It's not an EGI correct (sadly we missed EGI by a year since ED picked a 2007 era bird) however it's still a coupled nav system with GPS and INS talking to each other. EGI essentially took two LRUs and combined them into one and more tightly coupled them. Since the user also showed that flying pre-gps time frame and that the drift was roughly identical it's showing that in this modeling ED has chosing GPS and INS don't talk to each other like they should.
  5. It's a limitation of the aircraft. Treat the CFT like a MER that only has 3 smart capable pylons
  6. That lower loadout picture is not even possible though. A) can't mix weapons on CFTs B) can't have 3x65s and weapons on the CFTs. (At least the uppers iirc) you can clearly see why in the picture
  7. So if it needs constant lasing how do you employ it when doing a loft style attack? Like other LGBs in that type of attack you would need to delay the lase so it doesn't try correcting too early and fail to reach the target. I guess my request is to double check with your SMEs on the subject cause from the sounds of it, it sounds like a misunderstanding of how the weapon works.
  8. Wouldn't noise jamming (which I presume is what the AI is doing with being told to always jam) be easier to see vs a normal radar contact?
  9. The JFS start does not change between the GE engines. Pratts add a 60 sec motoring period. So for the GEs the starts should match relatively closely regardless if it's a GE 100 or 129. Also seeing the post before depending on the year of the video it's more than likely been through the upgrade process and is on par with the 40s and 50s in USAF service (plus being a guard jet it might have other upgrades not seen in the active duty fleets yet). Do agree though. The JFS shouldn't start to spin till the doors are fully open and should only close upon spinning down to a certain % speed.
  10. Not necessarily. Pods come with different features so while yes it's going to be loaded by the jet in it's displays, each pod will be slightly different due to the different capabilities of each.
