Hello, My point is not there. My point is, if there's a mission load fail, I should be sent back to the main menu, and not left there standed on a failed mission load.
-
When trying to replay a multiplayer mission, I had the message "mission load fail". Then nothing happens. The game stays still until I manually killed it. Not digging into "why" the mission load fails, my report is more about what should happen next. If mission load fails, I'd expect to be sent back to menu to keep using DCS, instead of being stuck nowhere..

One more question regarding FMU-139 and their use with Snake Eyes (and it's common to all aircraft, not just the Hornet): how am I supposed to setup the arm delay for my bombs for both low drag and high drag cases? Currently, if you select the Snake Eye with FMU-139, you only have high drag fuze options. But if I decide to launch it as a low drag bomb (e.g. FF mode in the Hornet) then I didn't setup my arming delay... Normally, on the FMU-139, we should always be able to set-up both the LOW DRAG and HIGH DRAG options, and the bomb knows which one to use depending on the initial deceleration. If I were ED, I would turn the fuze setting page into a visual representation of the fuze, and let people "turn the screws" as it would be done for real on the jet. Same for laser settings, and it would avoid being able to set LASER codes that can't be physically selected on the bombs. Thanks

Kandahar Airfield Unit/Squadron dispositions
El Chapo replied to Gambit21's topic in DCS: Afghanistan
Since some people are not eager to share anything, here is what I sent earlier to the author of this thread (without even a reply to say it has been received ). https://forum.dcs.world/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=390533&key=459dd85b4c9342b55d8ca5cf02b41a23 -
MAN is more or less the first step of FBW error, coming from discrepancies between the various FBW surveillance channels (e.g. not the same AOA measured on right and left probes). It should be resolved by a FBW reset near the limiter switch. If it happens too often in a flight, it means that a bigger error might occur and you should RTB before it happens.

Hello, Stupid question maybe, but how do you force the Harpoon to fly at 50 ft (LOW is 5000ft)? Thanks
-
Not so true. Until 2010 at least there were regular squadrons from both US and French carriers operating in Afghanistan mostly in the south of course.

This is because you don't know Kajaki lake yet...

fixed internally for later update Drag Bombs in FF mode
El Chapo replied to Topper81's topic in Bugs and Problems
Hello, I haven't seen anything about it recently. It has been reported a long time ago (2019) here: Both AUTO and CCIP modes with high drag bombs are showing RET release cue while in FF mode. It is therefore impossible to use them in FF... I thought that it was not always the case, but I might be wrong. Could we have the correct FF ballistics when in FF mode? Thanks! .trk here: https://disk.yandex.com/d/wb8QdKr_z1dCgw -
OK so we didn't have the same experience. From what I've seen, if the pilot reported a dead segment on the flight return it would be changed for the next day, if not for the next flight.
-
One segment, maybe, but more than that, be sure that the mechanics would take care of this before next flight.

Just for info, IRL weapons 1 to 10 are permanently stored in the INS and should not be changed unless in very particular cases, otherwise the next user will not find what's expected in the INS. It would be nice to have this feature in DCS, with for example in the INS the 10 closest airfields or something like that, with CP/PD, etc...

Hello, In the Mirage F1 EE, when using the rho button to increase range for the VAD mode on TACAN, distances are in full Nm. If I'm not mistaken, it should be in Nm and the last digit in 0.1 Nm. The range for VAD should be from 0. 1 to 999,9 Nm, and not from 1 to 9999 Nm as it is now. I'm not 100% sure, but the Mirage 2000 which uses the same VAD mode is definitely working this way. It sounds more logical, since you often need a precision to 0.1 Nm and 1° when flying (e.g. TACAN approach). Thanks

Will do.

Hi. Qucik report: when releasing single BR250 bomb on the fuselage there is at the same time a jettison of the full rack... No issue with other bombs like SAMP250. Thanks

Tacview, the ACMI for DCS World – Official Thread
El Chapo replied to Vyrtuoz's topic in DCS Modding
Hello @BuzyBee, For some time, we don't manage to have the "online debrief" work. We tried between several users with Tacview Advanced version, but none of us was able to connect to each other's session, who ever the host was. It's not the first time we have this issue. Have similar issues been reported lately? Thanks -
Community A-4E-C v2.3 (May 2025)
El Chapo replied to plusnine's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
Hello, Quick question please. My DCS crashes when loading after I tried installing the A4 mod. I followed exactly the procedure in the readme file, and I have other mods that are perfectly working. I tried downloading the .zip file several times, but no changes. I used to play the 2.0 version without issues, that's only since I tried to re-install a new version recently that I had issues (I removed it for a long time, until I decidd to give it another try). Did anyone meet and solve this issue before? Thanks! -
[NO LONGER PASSES IC] Improved Contact Dot Spotting (Updated v1.1)
El Chapo replied to Why485's topic in DCS Modding
Appart from proving that you've never been in that situation before, and that you have close to zero knowledge of the human eye biological principles and its behaviour in aeronautical environment, I find your reply pretty pointless. -
[NO LONGER PASSES IC] Improved Contact Dot Spotting (Updated v1.1)
El Chapo replied to Why485's topic in DCS Modding
In butterfly BFM set-up, you generally turn in at 4,5 Nm because further away than that you are likely to loose sight of the other fighter and not find it again soon enough. Sonit gives you a pretty accurate idea of what a typical spotting distance is in a situation where you know where to search for the other guy. From RL my experience, I'd say that spotting a fighter above 5 Nm is uncommon, and a tanker above 15 Nm is also uncommon. -
Hello. I encounter issues with VR since the latest update. I have a reverb G2, I used to play through OpenComposite. No issues, good performance. Since the latest update, I can't open DCS through OpenXR with the command line. It's opening the game in 2D, even if WMR is on and working. But if I use OpenComposite to switch to SteamVR, then the shortcut works and it's launching in VR. What should I try to revert to OpenXR? Thanks

I kept digging, it looks like it can only be changed from the knob on the HUD, no keybind for it. Any confirmation @Razbam ? If confirmed, could it be planned to make it bindable in a future update? Thanks
-
Hello. I wasn't able to find the keybinds for SelH altitude increase and decrease in the options. And it doesn't seem to be an axis either. Could someone be kind enough to help me with that one? Thanks

Hi. Don't forget that in the aircraft you wear an helmet that muffles all the sounds, you won't hear what a camera can record. In general I would say that between the noise reducing ear plugs, the helmet, the radios, the various RWR sounds, etc... you won't notice any cockpit sound. And definitely no engine sound. (Nor Mach barrier sound either for those who asked themselves the question, which is one of the most recurring one). By the way, the gyro sounds that we can hear when starting up the HUD for example is very well reproduced. But as soon as you wear your helmet it totally disappears. Its nonetheless a very typical sound that is strongly associated with the preflight checks.

need track replay Fuel flow vs actual fuel consumption
El Chapo replied to El Chapo's topic in Bugs and Problems
After further testing, indeed, no issue with FF vs fuel consumption, just an issue due to units misunderstanding. It all comes down to a "human/machine interface". I'd bet a lot that the one who decided to display that FF in (lbs/hr)/100 instead of lbs/min never put his pants in a real plane. Or at least not at 150ft/540kts... Anyways, thanks for the various replies and inputs, some good came out of this! -
need track replay Fuel flow vs actual fuel consumption
El Chapo replied to El Chapo's topic in Bugs and Problems
In fact I'll keep in mind approximately 3 fuel flows: in DCS max range -> FF around 30+30=60 (x100 lbs per hour) = 100 lbs/min Max performance in high altitude -> FF around 50+50=100 =170 lbs/min Max performance in low altitude -> FF around 75+75=150 = 250 lbs/min With these 3 figures I should be able to compute everything, working the small differences with % (e.g I read FF 27 instead of 30 = it's a 10% difference that I subtract on my end result).
