Ok will give it a try. The other thing I did is did a restore on windows prior to all things breaking down. That way I make sure windows is correct. Only trully bad thing about doing that was that it reset the clock on my computer back to before our daylight savings time which made me an hour late for work. Yesterday was not my day LOL

I am just getting tired of fighting this issue with it. No Sim/Game should be this difficult. With Regards to installing or setting it up and running it. It's not like I am running any mods or skins or external software. It just shouldn't be this hard. Now it saves the it as an MP3 both in chrome and in IE

So I downloaded just the stand alone version of BS2. Can't even activate it to try and see what frame rates I get there. So from what I can tell ED has rendered my DCS World and Modules totally useless. SO with the p51, BS2, and A10C rendered useless this figures out to be about $120.00 that I have blown and no recompense for it not to mention my time. I for the life of me can't figure out what ED did to me to get this kind of response. I really enjoyed the sim too.

Any ideas to try?

Regardless of what aircraft be it western or eastern, northern or southern, It does prove interesting that given as close to accurate flight models as we have seen just how the aircraft stackup as well as the pilot skills involved. It adds new variables to the sim that you won't find in other sims to the best of my knowledge. One thing I have learned with the DCS series and it should be apparent to all that it does keep evolving with additions all the time. They are adding dynamics that not only make it interesting but gives everyone the chance to try new things with different aircraft. For those that can't adapt to these new changes perhaps this series is not for you. But it will keep changing to suit the needs and wants of the many. There are those who prefer the realism while on the other hand there are some that just want to enjoy the way they want. Nothing wrong with either style. But when one condemns the other because it's not the "RIGHT WAY" thats when these types of posts become more then informational. It just creates arguments that are less then productive. I have even had trouble and still am having trouble getting it to work but it seems that everyone I have talked to is willing to help if you ask the right way.

Win 7, Running 8 gig of ddr2 ram, AMD 8450 triple core, with a GT9600 video card. I was referring to the DCS Update that last came out. I ran World with just the SU25 loaded it worked fine. It's when you put the modules back in that it drops to 3 FPS. Now when it comes to running the standalone verisons of A10C and BS2 they work fine. Good Frame rates. It when I try to run them in world things go south. I have not loaded FC3 yet so as far as any new modules there are none yet. I don't even mind the long long load times provided I can fly the sim. But in the case I can't even do that. So again I ask what changed so dramatically between this version and the last to kill the frames rates? It wasn't my machine that changed. Thats the point I am making it was working with the same machine. Now it's not. No changes to the opsys no changes to software other then this update. No other 3rd party software was introduced. The machine is exactly the same as it was prior to the last update. Was there any official changes to the required system specs posted for the new verison? Not that I can tell on the DCS website. As it states there I am well within system specs for DCS World. Here is what DCS has posted about what is needed both recommended ad Minimum. This is taken right from the DCS World page on DCS website. Recommended system requirements: Operating system 64-bit: Windows Vista and 7; Processor: CPU: Core 2 Duo E8400, AMD Phenom X3 8750 or better; Memory: 4GB; Hard disk space: 7 GB; Video: Shader 3.0 or better; 896MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX260 DirectX 9.0c or better; Sound: DirectX 9.0c - compatible; DirectX: 9.0C; requires internet activation. Minimum system requirements: Operating system: Windows XP, Vista or 7; Processor: Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz; Memory: 3 GB; Free hard disk space: 7 GB; Video: 512 MB RAM card, DirectX 9 - compatible; Sound: DirectX 9.0c - compatible; requires internet activation. I have watched the performance of the CPU and Ram Allocation and I come no where near close to burying it. CPU is running about 50 Percent and I use almost half of the ram when it loads.

What good is it to have the sith without the jedi?

I can deal with the slow loading but the FPS is the show stopper and yes I have did a complete un-install and re-install and to the same result
-
BS2, P-51, A-10C and thats it. Nothing changed there. As far as the slow times I can deal with that. But the FPS tanking is a different story

I have asked this but I was told I was in the wrong thread. So I will start a new thread to see what the response is. Why is it that before the 1.2.2 update everything was working fine. Getting decent frame rates around 30 which I can tolerate. Since then the only thing ever done was to do the update. No other programs installed no new websites visited, nothing changed other then the update. Since the update I am now running around 1- 3 frames rendereing the entire collection useless. I keep hearing clear this cache do this do that and yet it doesn't help. I didn't even purchase the FC3 Module. Everything stayed the same as far as modules go. Yet it's unplayable and the load times have tanked. 8 Minutes to get to the breifing room is a bit much. Granted I like the extra toys but there has to be a happy balance between graphics and playability. I for one can't just rush out to get a new piece of hardware everytime they do an update. So my question is simply this. Why and what cause it to go south so quickly just because of an update?

30 fps difference in between A-10C 1.0.0.8 and World 1.2.2
sparchy replied to FZG_Immel's topic in Game Performance
Before the last update I was managing 30-40 FPS. Not bad considering my machine. Running GT9600 which was handling it nicely. Now with the 1.2.2 update I absolutly can not play the game. My best FPS is 3. Yes it wasn't a typo "3" So I update the vid driver. Just to make sure. Same result. Nothing Changed. Settings in game and out of game the same. Load time on the MP is unbeleivably long. Even when you get to the logon screen the "connect" Button says "onnect" I haven't added any more modules to change anything here. Using three monitor setup and was working great. Now even with just one monitor it still tanks. So is there a fix for this? If not I won't pour anymore effort, time, or money into it. -
Stop passwording every DCSW server
sparchy replied to JABO2009's topic in Multiplayer Server Administration
It's simple to me. It's my toy and I will play with it however I want. -
Same here. No pings listed. Although the connection went thru fine. But it was just one time last night

Mission Planners in Multiplayers! WTF!
sparchy replied to Bee_Sting's topic in User Created Missions General
We make our own missions the way we like them. When we do use some one else's mission we do exactly that. Use it they way they set it up. Not the way we like it. There is a mission editor at the ready in everything here. Learn it as you would any other sim. That way if it isn't the way you like it then it's because you didn't do it right to suit yourself. But don't expect others to make it perfect because there is no such thing as a perfect world. Even in virtual one. -
This autoupdater is great. Beats having to uninstall and install. Just an FYI to ED team. I am still only seeing about 10 to 13 frames in SP. Haven't tried MP yet. Running Nvidia 9600GT if that helps on Win7. That is with todays update installed.

Last night before I did the update I was getting 9-10 FPS. Did the update and it went up to 12-14. Had bunch of things happening within the map and 3 others in server with. Noticed a bit of shimmering but that was at the start of the mission and then it went away and never saw that again. Running 9600GT here. Did slow things down a bit but then everyone in the server at the time was noticing the same thing so at least we were on level playing field. Give it time and ED will solve it. I am impressed with the patch despite all the critisim in the negative. Connectivity seems to be much better then it was before. One thing I am confused about prior to this new version I had BS1 and BS2 standalones as well as DCS world. This was a result from an upgrade from BS1 to BS2 when it came out. Now the BS2 standalone is gone. This doesn't bother me so much as if we want to run just BS2 we can lock the server down or mission for just the KA-50 anyways. Just passing along an observation. I too lost activations but I am not too concerned about it as ED will make it right.

Thanks Nate, Now it makes sense how to do the updates. Worked like a charm. Never thought to look in the start menu. Always used the Icons on the desktop. Will pass the word.
-
It's appearing to be a total overhaul rather then a patch.
-
I am just happy the patch is out. No more connectivity issues. Thanks ED Team !

WIP DCS A-10C and Teamspeak 3 Integration

Thanks for the Update Headspace! Keep up the GREAT WORK!!! -
Wow, Just found this app. Works great on my G13 Way COOL! Thanks!!

Any projected date on the update Nate?

I for one am waiting anxiously for FC3 to come out but to be honest I doubt I will purchase it until the server issues are fixed. I am not complaining about the time that it is taking to get fixed I am just stating what I am personally going to do. I have purchased all but Combined arms up to this point starting with the very first version of Black shark. Once the CTD issue is fixed I will rush to get FC3. What is most disconcerting is the fact of a lack of information regarding this issue. All we are hearing is that they are looking at it. Perhaps a Update on how they are coming along with it may calm some nerves amongst the clients that have and are purchasing this software?

I use VAC for more then just DCS and it works great. Yes it's payware. But last I checked it was only $18.00 for life. It works great and no voice training required. There are many profiles out there that you can grab or build your own. It is simple and easy to build it to your liking. It can be modified easily to adapt to any new change on wording or key commands. Best money I ever spent. So to add to a program that has enough issues that they are working on would only make the fixes needed for DCS take that much longer in my opinion
