How much does your DCS experience rely on community contributions?
kuschmu replied to Dangerzone's topic in Chit-Chat
Not necessarily. You could use the b) tool from here https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3342776/ which can provide access to a mission with non-ED mods. The respective non-ED mods are just not usable then by clients which do not have them. -
I prefer the original (without glass) https://www.airliners.net/photo/UK-Air-Force/Sepecat-Jaguar-GR3A/355663

Cold war Germany is not part of the dedicated server installer.
kuschmu replied to Gunfreak's topic in Installation Problems
You can use the below CMD from within your dedicated server's bin folder (use key combination <LWin>-<R> and then type CMD, I assume you know ho to navigate within a CMD window DCS_updater.exe install GERMANYCW_terrain You can also refer to the following -
There, it looks good now. I'm glad it helped

Thanks for the description. I downloaded a recently uploaded skin file (https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/3341962/) and compared e.g. its SA342L 'description.lua' with yours. It seems to me that there are some <tail boom number> entries missing in your description. You may compare yourself and add the missing ones in your descriptions. Hope to help you with this

Can you post a 'description.lua' of one of the respective skins ...

A couple of time ago I created 'junctions' -- using the </j> switch of the mklink CMD -- and stored all my Liveries/Missions/Mods on a separate SDD under a "D:\CommonDCS" folder (a HDD should also work). One junction for each subfolder Liveries/Missions/Mods in the "C:\Users\<name>\Saved Games\DCS" folder. Never had a problem with this so far and hope never will

solved Mi-8 trimming with offset
kuschmu replied to kuschmu's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
You Schlingel you were totally right. I was not aware of a possible de-calibration of my Warthog. I directly tried the Windows controller calibration and Voilà, everything works all right now. Although obviously not anymore needed, I nevertheless downloaded the TM tools, despite the age of the tools (~2011) ... you never know . Thanks a lot, Schlingel- 1 reply

Since a while I experience a trimming problem with the Mi-8. Just recently I found a thread from 2021 which was marked as solved and which described almost the same effect which I actually suffer from with the exception that the small caret jump goes down and left on the controls indicator. Nota bene: What helped in 2021 was obviously to untick the "control helper" option. However in my actual case this option is NOT ticked. Any idea!

Funny story ... I assume that you have/installed the FC4 Sabre which I do not have. That may be why you have an "FC4" folder for the F-86F and I don't. Besides, my first suspicion was that my problem had to do with the addition of the FC4 modules. So, obviously there are extra dedicated folders named "FC4 whatever" for these modules, but why should that have an impact to the HF modules and their input config folders? Cannot understand
-
Well, about my control assignment problem I found an easy remedy: I just emptied the newly created "F-86F Sabre" folder and restored the config files from a recent "F-86F" backup into that "F-86F Sabre" folder and voilà, I got my assignments back . Finally I also got rid of the (now useless?!) "F-86F" config input folder. Btw, I wasn't aware about of other bugs in the Sabre, e.g. the ARN-6 switch and dial ... but I hope that they will get fixed asap !
-
Since the most recent update my control assignments which were so far stored in config input folder "F-86F" are somehow corrupted in that some assignments were deleted/overwritten and a redefinition of the missing assignments results in an extra config input folder "F-86F Sabre". What's wrong here ?

Hi Flappie, in fact I was not aware of the obsolescence of the Dynamic Weather and I encountered that strange effect only recently. So your recommendation is an easy solution and I will set up my missions accordingly with Static Weather. Thanks for the feedback
-
There you go ... btw: observing the effect in a trk replay only works the first time after dcs start. if you replay it a second time then the effect does not occur anymore ... ?? btw: also check out the 'topography' of the river viggen - 29x02 - Day (dynbug)-20240102-214559.trk
-
Maybe it has the same reason as in my case. See here: Do you have Dynamic Weather set up in your mission? If yes, try to set it to some Static Weather. Please report back if that helped, thanks.

solved DCS 2.9.2.49629 Open Beta update Multiplayer server crash
kuschmu replied to Ronin_Gaijin's topic in Game Crash
Also in my case it was the JAS39 mod (latest release 1.8.5). -
Could be my issue but could also be a bug ... I have a simple mission (OB 2.9), amongst others containing a hot Huey at Batumi. The mission is setup with dynamic weather. Then I fly over to the river and see that the water is moving upwards/downwards depending on flying speed and direction. When modifying the mission with some static weather then everything is ok. Can anybody confirm? Edit: Further testing showed that this effect only happens when the mission is run on a (dedicated) server and joined by a client.
