  1. Deadman, Thanks for that link... been looking for it!
  2. I love my HOTAS Warthog, hard to recommend anything else if you fly a lot of the hog (excluding budget issues). The only problem with your budget is fitting in a set of rudder pedals as well. You undoubtedly get a lot with the current prices on CH gear versus the Warthog. The only thing about the CH gear is I hate their throttle (personal preference).
  3. Looking very good!
  4. I'd love to get some of these, but fear the cost as y2kiah indicated. We would have to find a significantly cheaper source, and even then there is a lot of money involved in a group buy like this so finding the right way to transact will be important.
  5. Deadman, I'll be needing these as well. The collective workshop I'm a part of has a full sign shop and I believe the right equipment to do these. I'm way behind in all of my "hobby" stuff but may be able to hook you up with the guy who runs it.
  6. How do you have the pots connected? If the show up as a direct x axis you can just map them directly in the in game controls.
  7. AAU-9/A In rough shape probably well over priced for the condition, but in case anyone wants. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Aircraft-Indicator-Rate-Climb-AAU-9-A-heavy-damaged-/130496943574 Be aware that it looks like someone has already opened it up and messed with it. On the picture of the back you'll see the electrical connector on the right hand side is missing. A good one would have two blue and two red wires and I only see one wire coming out. They may be intack on the inside but can't tell. Those are the wires for the lighting for the gauge, which you'd likely have to replace anyways, but if the wires are missing or damaged it would be very difficult.
  8. Nope, but I'm looking :) Aside from get Mike Powell's book and build his design (mind you'll probably have to fab a PCB which means this is still not "cheap".) I've seen a few go for $250-$350 on ebay.
  9. Jealous there Paul. Don't suppose you would be interested in selling that NMSP panel ;)
  10. AAU-9/A Conversion I finished up my AAU-9/A conversion to stepper motors tonight. You can read up more on my conversion here.
  11. Excellent. That helps a lot as my biggest question was height of rudder floor. Is this designed for saitek combat pedals?
  12. Any update on the center section? I'm picking back up my cad work and want to finalize my seat / MIP I'd love to see current state of yours.
  13. Agreed! Although I may be saying that for non altruistic reasons as I'm going to be launching on getting my ADI and HSI running as well.

    HogBox

Awesome job. Can't wait to get the shell of mine done so I can start getting some panels wired in.
  15. Actually your original was the right one. The get_frequency gives you the currently tuned frequency which is different than the one displayed on the radio itself. For example if you are modifying presets the dials on the radio do not match what is actually tuned on the radio.
  16. I was looking into a few options on that today. New project at work has kicked up again along with focusing a little bit on some of my pit and catching up on a little personal IT admin chores (gadrocsworkshop launch, home server / parental controls update for the kids) has been front and center. I will be working on it again shortly.
  17. avlolga, The LCD Display boards you bought from me are arduino boards at heart. It's running the arduino boot loader and the firmware is developed using the arduino libraries. It is basically a arduino plus shield in one board to control the LCD screen, have 22 digital inputs and 1 analog input plus the backlighting channel.
  18. Finished skinning the pit today! I'll get pics of it in place one I clean the basement. I did a write up of the skinning process here.
  19. Looking great!
  20. Best to bind them straight to the DCS Interface. The helios profile panel will automatically update via the DCS Interface.
  21. I didn't use washers like you did for cosmetic reasons and pulled through the board a few times. The forward rib is a very tight radius and the center rib is to "shallow" for the curve formed by the other ribs so you can't tighten it down all the way. A little filler before paint and you'll never know.
  22. Yea I did. Looking to find acrylic tube that will work. Think I found some but have to order it.
  23. Linden's skinning work inspired me to get off my but and get some done. I was going to use thin aluminum sheet, but his work with 3mm board looked good and is a lot cheaper/easier. I ran down to Lowes and picked up a two 4x8 sheets of 1/8" hardboard but down into 4x4 sections. Here is the results of skinning the forward sections.
  24. Nicely done. Just need to grab some 8" or 7" 4:3 lcds to pop behind those MFDs and you'll be all set.
  25. That is correct hawk. Unfortunately I can't find any exports in dcs to tell you the state of the magnet. The anti-skid and anti-collision beacon switches also work this way.
