My desk isn't ideal for attaching a mount to and I use my desk for both DCS and work so the mounts would have to be attached/detached daily. A wooden box or PVC sled would be better for me since I can slide it out of the way when not in use. I personally prefer the box option which will be weighed with something and have a non-slick bottom to prevent sliding.

Schedule 80 PVC doesn't flex and even regular schedule 40 PVC is plenty rigid at 1-inch ID.

Seems like it, VKB announced their TECS throttle December 31, 2017 then reannounced it January 28, 2021. Still have yet to see anything else let alone a shippable product. Luckily, Virpil has a great throttle as does WinWing but always nice to have a third option of their quality. Hoping they get something out in 2022 but I wouldn't hold my breath.

I'm contemplating making a wooden box, bolting a HOTAS to the top and setting it on the floor. Then I can monkey around with heights until I find what I want and just leave it on the box since I work from the same computer I play DCS on. I think a nice plywood box would be easier to hide but I've seen a very nice PVC sled that lies on the floor with attachments for pedals, throttle and stick. Just add a beer bottle opener and holder and it's perfect.

That's what I hear but I feel it best to wait until July (rumored date of VKB TECS throttle) before dropping $1,000 - $1,300 on a stick, a base and a throttle then maybe rudders and a desk, desk mounts, etc.

I was just checking but really waiting for VKB throttle release or may just go Virpil.

Last week. I too was on the list and kept getting “not in stock” emails but checked myself and there it was.

What was tax and import fees on the throttle?

So many options and each one has pros and cons. Virpil has horrible post-sales support, VKB doesn't have a throttle (yet), WinWing doesn't have an F-16 HOTAS (yet) and the WartHog stick has a plastic gimbal (WTF). Edit. How hard is it so mix and match brands and do they need their software running for daily use in DCS, for example?

How about a good throttle?

I use an old Saitek AB8R flight stick. It’s horrible but Warthogs cost a fortune so I’m looking for something. Im looking for a tabletop HOTAS and have a flexible budget. Looking at VKB and Virpil but not sure what to buy that works well with the F-16.

Hello. I fly the F-16 with and old Saitek AV8R stick since hotas prices are crazy. Would a sink please flight stuck be adequate for the P-47? Whats recommended to fly WW2 era missions in terms of map and asset packs?

I’m asking for a realistic date not a date to appease us.

I appreciate the feedback and discussion with ED staff here but please just be open with us. If we should expect Mavericks in Q2 2022, tell us that and we’ll shut up. And don’t release an update with fonts and light updates just to appease us. We’re adults and can accept bad news, we don’t like false or appeasing news. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Don't worry, ED will release an update with even better cockpit lighting to tide us by until they pull the F-16 team back off the F-18 project.

I concur.

We were told the F/A-18 and F-16 teams were separate. Now they are both focused on one plane. Wonderful. In a few months we’ll get an upgrade where a couple lightbulbs will illuminate much better than before and nothing else.

You could always fly around and see for yourself. Might not be the best answer but it’s another data point.
