Alpenwolf, any chance on skipping the slining all together and stick to the 5s hover above the cargo for cabin transport instead? I’m pretty sure more rotor flyers will come back since the sling cargo might be a deal breaker for them.

It was bit odd that the Phone Booth mission was abruptly cancelled around 20.00 UTC time yesterday. The Blue had control over Nalchik and were protecting Beslan. The mission was far from over, only 1 hour in, when the new Prince of Persia mission was started. Many players felt the same way and discussed it on SRS. Please if you can, let the mission run it’s time that has been announced. Hilo pilots and fixed wing left DCS at that time because of the restart, which led to only me and my wingman flew hilo’s on Prince of Persia.

Tired out the Hilo side on the Prince of Persia mission. My first attempt picking up the slinged crate went well until it hit the ground during flight. I landed back at the Farp and requested another one, but the crates were not activated and I didnt get any countdown or info what so ever except for that your crate is 12 o'clock. My buddy did the same thing and had a visual object in front of the pad that he could hover above.. but mine was not visible. What is needed to take over an airbase on this mission.. just to bring a tank, or does the item have to be a sling cargo unit? Is there any way that the Hilos can be on the same frequency as the fixed wing. It would make the Gci life so much easier and interaction between CAP and the Hilos. This would be awesome for the dynamics of the Sim. I often wish when flying fixed wing that I could communicate on their 30.00 frequency.

Two Towns was great as always! All the artillery on the Red side was taken down but no messages appeared. Likewise all the Red troops were taken out by the Two Towns and mission kept going.

Prince of Persia rocked yesterday all the way into early morning hours! No sure what happened after UTC 01.00 but it sure was a sandstorm over there..

I have tried that and it is pretty useless, since you have to be really close for it to lock. Only tried it against a Shilka.. so maybe it works better against a Tunguska or similar.

This will give the Helicopter side a better advantage, fixed wing will think twice before approaching the FARP or any other Helicopter zone of interest. :thumbup:

Yes Blue won, but it was not a fair play thing. The mission rolled over from the night and what all the Blues had to do was to keep the area clean from Hilo's. We need to have another Rumble like the other evening hehe :thumbup:

Yes that’s what happened. But as you jumped out we found another ground unit at the lake, the 15min count down started and the Blue side won. The strange thing was that there still was a Red unit there but the area had turn Blue. Five points was really great today, have always flown it from the Red side but tried out the A10. Not sure if the A10’s are supposed to start in the air? Would be great if half of them started on the ground. NELLUS

These changes will definitely work out well! There are 4 SU25’s on the “Swedish Delivery” mission. Can that be even out with 2-4 A10’s on the Blue side? Have a good one :thumbup: NELLUS

If you don’t get any directions from EWR’s then head to the Hot Spots and start scanning the horizon, just like they did it in the old days.

It was only a pleasure, the A10 is made for CAS :smilewink: I fully agree about the EWR’s instead of AWACS, it becomes more realistic, and that’s the bottom line in DCS.. is it not. SRS was working perfectly, and aviators were calling in trouble since the EWR’s could not reach everywhere. This is definitely the way forward, it used to turn into air quake before. Is there a possibility to exchange the A10a’s to A10c’s.. there is no reason keeping that relic around when there is a lovely VR version out there..

I have been trying to CAP you and Rouge as much as I can, but it has been really hard since I’m one of very few ever doing it. In regards to the Kamikaze Red spawning aviator, we all know who that is.. and it does not help his score if he leaves the server and comes back few seconds later, the kill/death ratio is still there. Since the latest “drive your own tank to the objective” trend, the GCi slots are being taken and there is very few slots available if any in rush hour combat. Is there a possibility to add “tank driver” slots, and leave the Gci slots for the commanders?

I remember that, great move hehe :thumbup: Speaking of the Swedish Delivery mission, would it be possible to add 2 A10c’s on the blues side to help out with ground strike missions, just to balance things out since the Red team has the SU25’s.

Abu Dhabi and the current mission have both been bugged with no EWR’s for the Blue team. The Red team has com’s working with their EWR, this is right in the beginning of the mission. The com’s on the Blue team on the previous mission was in russian, not that I mind, but that in combination with zero EWR made it sound like a bug.

Latest trend has been grabbing a dropped heavier armored vehicle, and drive it for the last part of the way and take over the airbases. The mission will be over in less then half the time.. like what happened on the Abu Dhabi mission yesterday. The bases should have some kind of defense for units like that, but still be easily to find when approached with aircraft or hilos for air to ground ops. It is literally impossible to find a tank driving thru the streets of Abu Dhabi or forest sections on other maps. 3-4 well placed heavily armored tanks at neutral air bases would be a great solution. The Vulcans and Shilkas are pretty lousy against a human T72 or Abrams. There was an incident 2 weeks back when a tank rolled in on Batumi airbase and started taking down Mig21’s while they were departing and taxying. That individual was proud of it and counted up to 30 planes down. This happened just an hour into the mission start.
