I agree with you, the Red Team had it going yesterday with great tactics and situational awareness. Was an even match, the win could have gone to either side.

And so it begins, as Alpenwolf predicted. A long line of complains.. and we are most likely have another complains wave coming when the Syrian map arrives :/ Seriously, I’m speaking on my own behalf. I have taken out the 19/21 a few times during the last few weeks just to compare, and I must say there is a ton of unnecessary chatter. All the planes have their ideal tactics.. USE THEM! I see a ton of aviators out there flying the 21 like it would be a F16, they loose speed, stability and then complains that the plane is unstable etc. Do your homework and make it work. Missiles wont catch up or maneuver from slow speed for example. The 19 is really the best turner out there and you can easily get behind a Viggen or F5 and gun them down with those powerful cannons. Even the missiles work: No one has mentioned that the F5 only brings 2 missiles to the fight.. and everyone are somehow ok with that? How is that for equal terms, when the 21 can bring 6. But wait, then it is too many missiles suddenly?.. get my point. The 21, just like the 37 (viggen), has a faulty damage model. I have seen them both being hit with 2-3 air to air missiles and kept on flying. This is an ED’s/Module designers issues, and we can only hope this will be sorted out asap. This is the reason why I’m brining the gun pods on the 37 to the fight. They work better than the missiles. Can we please stop this nonsense, and enjoy the Stimulator for what it is. Have a great weekend, and I will see you up there! [DEVILS] NELLUS

Great battle on the Fight Island tonight! Both teams did great, and it was really even. I’m wishing for more single objective missions like this one. It becomes heated, and all units are forced to coop. CAP/CAS has never been more important than now.
-
We took out the last EWR station on Desert has Eyes (which was announced a few times on the top of the screen saying that the Blue would win if Destroyed). When all the units were taken out on the last Red EWR a message popped up saying that the last remaining station has been destroyed. Mission did not rotate or message a final announcement.

I think a more suitable combo would be the 1978 Flogger-G MLA (which is on it’s way) and the 1970 F14A Tomcat. The Tomcat should obviously have the Phoenix missiles removed.

Are the SA15’s a new thing for the Red side?
-
I agree with Alpenwolf, it has taken allot of work to get to this point. I think it has reached balance. I really like to see that the Fighters no longer go head on, and instead have to dogfight their way to victory. I must give it to SAS6007 that flies the 21 to it’s fullest potential. He is using the radar lock and fires of his missile from a way further distance than expected. Saw some great kills on Replay. It is called adaptation when it comes to the Hilo side. They have had their Farps bombarded one time too many and obviously had enough of it. Glad that this ground to air shield has become a standard.

This has happened to me before, when you find yourself in DCS Matrix. I’m glad I had 2 A10’s flying over the lake reporting that there were no units, otherwise I would have though I was going mad. This is definitely an ED’s issue, nothing to do with your mission. Everything will look as normal on your side. I think it happens sometimes when the server rotates, and one will rotate with it. Very rear, but it has happened to me ones before.

I think there was a bug happening yesterday. As an example the ‘Search & Destroy’ Salman lake usually has about 8 T72 and a sa13 to protect it, there were non at the mission start. Also, you usually get your situation/status updates in the top right corner, which yesterday only showed the blue sides objectives being blue, but nothing about the red objectives being red. This is easily one of my favorite missions, together with ‘Fight Island’, ‘Elbrus’, ‘Phone Booth’, ‘Battle over Sukhumi’. The reason why is that the objectives are few, and the intensity over the objective areas is increased. Also the Hilos have a shorter distance to the objective which attracts Hilo pilots. The concept of a single combat area like in ‘Fight Island’ and ‘Phone Booth’ is a great combat zone model of yours.
-
What do you want to bring instead.. F14A and F15 loaded with only rear aspect Aim9’s? I dont mind :)
-
Just a heads up for the ‘Search and Destroy’ mission. There are no ground units for defense, and the objectives stay in their original coalition when a unit is dropped within the capping area.
-
Then I think the only solution is to lower the crate LZ at the Elbrus. We know how to fly these Hilos, and every single attempt was a failure.
-
Copy, but there were no swinging issues at all. All crates made it to the destination, except for the hovering part. Maybe you can make half of them really light and then we can try it out again next time the mission arrives.
-
Elbrus was an absolute joy tonight! We were 3 Huey pilots trying to carry the sling up to the top, all failed, even the second time around. We all had 1/4 fuel tank, no armament and stable flight. But we still could not maintain a hover at the top. Tried it even with maxed out EGT and still nothing. Any chance of reducing the weight on the crates, or maybe lowering the drop zone a bit? There was no smoke marker at the top which made it confusing where to drop the crate.
-
Will keep track for you on my side, maybe it is an ED thing..
-
It’s not accurate, keeps changing.
-
Is this the current mission lineup on the server? Personally I try to dodge ‘when the mountains cry’ and catch ‘Search and Destroy’ among others. “Currently included missions in the server's rotation run in the following order: Catch Me If You Can Sail ahoy! When The Mountains Cry Fight Island - new mission Search & Destroy Two Towns Five Points Unleashed Open Range The Desert Has Eyes Battle Over Sukhumi Unleashed Elbrus Prince of Persia “
-
Speaking of sling loading. The Gazelle was used for sling loading in the old days, any chance for them to help out with cargo work?
-
I agree with you, the adjustment faze to the new missiles is taking longer than I thought. There is a certain fine line between to close and too far, which one need to get used to. The Flares are a good option as you mentioned, but I rather have that extra gun pod as assurance since they are tricky to aim with in air to air combat. Was a great dogfight yesterday, you did damn well with your 21 turning like that with full tanks..
-
Hehe, I like your sense of humor  Just to bring you up to date on the Viggen load out. Most of us dont bring more than 4 missiles to the party, since they are not reliable enough. Our remaining pylons are for the heavy 30mm gun pods, and yes, they are heavy. The early Viggen model did not have a canon on the belly, so we have to improvise and this was the “best” solution. The heavy Viggen got even heavier..
-
Hiromachi, the Viggen has a weapon load out from 1974 when it came in to service.. same year as the F5E came into service. The Viggens BK90 bombs and long range AGM’s have been taken away. The 21Bis entered service on February 1972, so I’m pretty sure these 3 planes are within the same era and category. ps. The Viggen is an predominantly air to ground striker, in comparison to the 21 that has an air to air radar and lock function that supersedes anything that the Viggen has.
-
Would be great if we could reduce the amount of F86’s to 2 instead of 4 (no one really flies those)and give those slots to Viggen on Fight island. The aircraft has become popular since the promo launch and slots dissapare much quicker than before. The RB24J’s ran out really quickly, could this be amended? The mission has great potential ones all the ducks are in a row.
-
Alpenwolf, is there anyway to move the Blue Farp closer (just so that it is the same distance to Abu Dhabi as the Red spawn) on the ‘onec upon a time..’ mission? The Hueys are currently only spawning on the airbase, or is there another spawn point for them?

That 25 hehe.. launched 4 RB24J’s on one tonight and all missed. Who ever that was, those flares saved you big time!
