by cracked do you mean there is a reg key floating around, or has the warez crowd completely removed SF from the game? Or is the .exe cracked for the Russian version, meaning a no-cd hack? If it's a key, then my understanding is that once it starts getting multiple users, the SF server will shut down that key. For the no-cd hack, people still need their reg key, so a warez version will only work for a few people before the key is blocked.

NaturalPoint is going to sell English CD version
DayGlow replied to DayGlow's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I have no problem with StarForce or copy protection in general. My only concern is the seemingly flawed release of the downloadable version with StarForce activations being used for regular installs, which is not how ED or StarForce communicated it would be. I hope it gets cleared up, but until then I'm holding off purchasing the DL content. If that means I can get a CD before then, then that's the route I"m going. -
Why do I lose activation when reinstalling?

That's unfair, how is a software company supposed to predict future OS compatabilities? There is going to a lot more issues than this one when XP64/Longhorn comes out, just like there is with every new OS release. Just like there was when the switch from the Win95 core to the NT core in XP. Lots of games had issues. People don't complain that it's Janes'/EA's fault because JF/A-18 doesn't work under XP perfectly. -

i'd contact SF tech support. My guess would be that it can't read a hardware profile because it wasn't designed to work with Win64 as it's not a comercial OS yet. -

Why start the exact same thread you did yesterday? Isn't 1 enough to express you're displeasure with the CP (which is concern for me as well)? -
If ED could sell it on a store shelf, I'm pretty sure they would have. There are much larger issues finding a publisher to produce, distribute and get shelf space for a game. Plus the fact that Ubi has the rights to LOMAC in the west, but has no interest in funding the production of anything new. ED is working on a new distribution model for sims since they are a niche market. Right now we are seeing the start of it, but unfortunatly the hicc-ups that come along with it as well. I'm sure 1.2 will have a stronger launch and their future products even more smooth. We are getting in on the ground floor here as ED spreads it's wings and is taking control of all aspects of the development and distribution of their sims. My hope is that they succeed.

Please help. Made payment but no FC!!
DayGlow replied to Batboy's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
my experience with most online stores, etc that they can take up to 48hrs to repsond. Now concidering ED is much smaller, I'd wait atleast that long before you start to fear the worst. -
and that goes against what ED and SF said how the activation works. We were told that we had unlimited installations of the program as long as the hardware doesn't change.
-
This is why I never buy on the first day with software. Seems to be a bug within the system as it goes against everything SF and ED has said about the CP scheme. Hopefully it will be sorted out quick. I'm holding off buy FC until at least I'm done this work shift block and have some days off to map X45, set everything up, etc. Hopefully by then this issue will be done.

it still doesn't change the cpu id. You can jump your clock rate all over the place and it won't change.
-
That goes against everything being posted on the forum by ED and StarForce. I'd contact their tech support to figure out what is going on.
-
How does o/c change your cpu id? Or clearing your cmos? I've o/c many a machine under windows xp, crashed them, had to reinstall multiple times without a hitch.
-
Not that I know of, and I'm interested in that as well.
-
or you could actaully try reading. How many times has it been re-affirmed that you can install the game as many times as you like, that you only have to re-activate only if over 40% of your hardware changes?

An extra, unplanned LOMAC movie/documentary
DayGlow replied to Andrew_McP's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
what you should have on the April 4th hanger doors, have them to start to slowly open with a bright light flooding out with the 'halaloya' in the background, only to grind to a halt to signify the server problem. :D -

FYI water being rendered under terrain only when you see it, ie tears through the terrain. If you cannot see it it isn't processed. -
No flames on the UBI boards about this
