  1. .lua file Can you just attach you .lua file here in a message for us to see? Thanks. ---
  2. I will try again here, Why are the so called 'View Slow' keys on the numb keypad so sensitive? Especially in any pause mode. Just barely tap the key and the view jumps/jerks to another view very quickly sometimes over 90 degrees! Does not in any way slew smoothly, so why is it called 'view slow' then? The standard keypad 8, 6, 2, 4 keys. For us folks that do not have TrackIR or VR yet this is the only thing we have to slew our views. It's VERY hard to control as I use a 4-way hat on my Warthog stick to do this. It's WAY too sensitive! Xplane 11 has great view controls that are very smooth, why not in DCS. Is there a .lua file or something I can change to fix this view sensitivity? I posted this a while back, why is there NO RESPONSE from ED on this? Directly affects my situational awareness. Is there another type of view control/mapping that might work for me? F/A-18C, any map : 2.5.6.52437 : has been like this for quite a while. ---
  3. We were talking mainly about the text readability on the DDI's here. However yes, the back-lighting for consoles and instruments have definitely lost brightness after the last update. Now can barely see back-lighting in the daytime. Fix one thing, then break another that was already working fine. Very aggravating. ---
  4. This ^^^ +1. Started using OvGME and made life much sweeter.
  5. I have a low end system so I had Shadows set to Flat. Recenly I set Shadows to Low. Looks better but there is a lot of 'swimming' around the cockpit shadows being displayed. In particular along the edges. ---
  6. Posted issues that have been around for a year since I started using DCS. Posted in 'bugs' that there is an issue with the HUD readability in a certain display setup. It was marked (and now locked) as REPORTED EARLIER. I cannot find a previous reported post with this particular problem. Has nothing to do with the messed up DDI readability issue which is now appears to have been fixed, thank you very much. Can someone please post a link to the bug report pointing to the REPORTED EARLIER thread so I/we can see that for ourself? This particular issue again been ongoing and is a serious issue for those running our type of display configuration, '1 Screen' option and a 5760x1080 resolution with 3 1920x1080 monitors. I guess I'll just do the 'Stroke Fix' mod's again to fix it, but THAT will screw up my DDI's and MFCD. Very aggravating since I only fly F/A-18C from day one. Current version here: 2.5.6.52437. Thanks in advance. ---
  7. I have all three setup for OvGME. Works here. BTW: BAKE is a new folder after latest update. ---
  8. First, I'm still only 6 months into DCS. F/A-18C is my only aircraft I fly, for now anyway. And yes, this issue has been since day 1. I have a very limited old PC, you can see my system spec's in the signature. However I get 40-60FPS in NTTR, have it capped at 40FPS in autoexec.cfg. That should not be an issue. Current DCS version here: 1.2.6.52437 release My middle 1920x1080 monitor died recently, so I'm using a 1680x1050 for the center display. NVidia surround will not work for me, I assume due to the center monitor not being the same resolution as the outer 2? It will only let me select 2 of the three monitors, not all of them. 1 Screen option @ 5520x1080 setting along with default calculated aspect ratio which is correct, and no full screen checked. Get the thick and fuzzy HUD. 1 Screen option @ 1920x1080 (1 display) HUD looks normal. Funny, looks like the DDI's MPCD are not affected. Yes, I have all the 'DDI/HUD fix' mods and have tried them all. Use OvGME to turn them off and on. Problem is those mods also make the DDI's too 'thin' while making the HUD more readable. These mod's have been around for quite a while. I won't mention the fact that the DDI readability issues as of the past few updates has been real aggravating. Thing is, look at early release images and the ED video's... all the displays looked great. What changed (broke what was working) since then and why, it's beyond me. All the complaints about the DDI's and HUD, well it's not fixed yet. Seems like a simple task to accomplish, updates should not affect something as basic as the aircraft's displays and instruments to worsen over time. Makes no sense. I hope ED can fix it, once and for all. --
  9. [edit/update] : turned on the HMD and it looks fine. This has been an on-going problem for quite a while. FYI, I have 3 each 1920x1080 HD monitors in my setup. My normal setting is using '1 screen' monitor option and setting the resolution to 5520x1080. Full screen option is NOT checked. The HUD looks fine and readable when using the standard '1screen' monitor option along with setting to a single monitors 1920x1080 resolution. When the '1screen' along with changing the monitor resolution to 5520x1080 to display on all three monitors, the HUD becomes thick and blurry and is difficult to read. DDI's/MPCD do not appear affected. Turning HUD brightness down helps a little, but it's still 'thick and blurry'. Attached are 3 images. One showing 1920x1080 and the other two 5520x1080, one full width and one cropped. ---
  10. Glad you can lock on. With MAV F's and using the mini-stick on a WH throttle is near impossible for me. And, the cage un-cage command does not work anymore even with the default C keyboard command. Once un-caged it will not re-cage until you cycle the display.
  11. No user setting that I know of. If you look around, ED is aware of the issue and is working on it. It is better than before the last OB update.
  12. Agreed. Reflection and non-readable font issue seems to have been fixed, however not much brightness in the DDI's graphics/fonts with everything turned up in day mode. I still the having the issue with the age old fuzzy/large HUD display, which I believe is due to using a 1 display option and set at a large view to cover 3 displays. That is still not fixed. That being said, the background of the DDI 'CRT' is pretty spot on with the real thing now. ED got rid of that washed out look. I hope they do not change that again. FYI: ALL my initial testing of any updates is my default mission. Instant Action->F/A-18C->Nevada->Ready on Ramp Attached: 2.5.6.5296 OB update cockpit view. Great looking DDI's now, just a little dim on the text/display. HUD is still blurry though. Also show a rear seat view of the panel in actual F/A-18 for comparison, so DDI's are close. Sure a lot better iMHO. ---
  13. Been looking for this, thank you very much to all! ---
  14. Updater just now got finished downloading the latest OB update. So, here is my post successful download completed and update being completed : autoupdate_log.txt. It took 3 restarts/canceled updates today to finally complete the download of the update. Cheers --- autoupdate_log.txt
  15. I will. As of today, I'm once again experiencing the same issue. Trying to update from 2.5.6.49789 to the latest OB. Updater will download for a while or a short time and just quit. I have to manually stop it and re-start Updater. It's on the third restart and download try right now as of today. Here are the current and 'old' autoupdate_log.txt files. Cheers --- autoupdate_log.txt autoupdate_log_old.txt
  16. Having the same problem again. Almost made it to the end and Updater froze the download. Tried again and only got about 1/4 through before freezing. Cleanup and Repair, trying again. Damn man...
  17. As a fairly new user of DCS I just want to thank you for the software. Even though I currently have very few mods to deal with, this software is a God send to save me from editing the ..\joystick\default.lua for my F/A-18 custom HOTAS setup and a few more mods after each update. Keep up the good work. Cheers... ---
  18. To 'fix' this for now, I rolled back to 2.5.6.49798 STABLE from OB 2.5.6.50979 and the DDI's and HUD are back to normal. I'll wait until the next update. No ground radar now but no big deal. Yes, I hope they fix it, it's a definite bug.
  19. TM needs to also step up to the fighter aircraft. The Warthog is OK, and why the would build a throttle for the A-10 instead of the F/A-18 is beyond me. Been in the stick market since TM came out with a 'combat stick', a really crude one, they sent me a prototype a long time ago. They now have a separate F/A-18 grip. TM now needs to add a replica F/A-18 throttle (revamp the Warthog?) AND sell a replica F-16 throttle.
  20. Thanks for the heads up, I'll give that a try and report back.
  21. I performed a '>DCS_Updater cleanup' and '>DCS_Updater repair'. After removing any mods. I'm not sure if that is what fixed the install, but at least I'm now up-to-date on OB.
  22. Same here. You use the same scenario I do to test new upgrades. INSTANT ACTION->F/A-18->Nevada-> Ready at the ramp. Left DDI is read bad, trying to read. Right DDI the same as you describe. This all happened when updating OB from 2.5.6.49798 to OB 2.5.6.50979. I wish others would report the version/patch revision number when posting like this, not "just did an update... and..." or just the date of the update. Hope it gets fixed as the F/A-18 is my only fighter I use for now. Now no daytime missions. Here is my sitting on the ramp screenshot left is after update, right prior to update. ---
  23. I searched but somehow did not see that. Thanks for the heads-up. Apology for not being so thorough on the search. ---
  24. Updated OB 2.5.6.49798 to OB 2.5.6.50979 today. So I loaded up my default test scenario: F/A-18C->Instant Mission->NTTR->Ready On the Ramp to check everything out. Now the left MFD text/display is 'dim' and completely un-readable, the right MFD appears to be fine even though sun is reflected. All Brightness Controls are full up and all displays on Daylight setting. Never had this problem before. Now it's un-flyable, in the Daytime at least. Also, the HUD is still it's old thick and overly bright self, I can deal with that for now. Have already performed a cleanup and repair on the install. No 3rd party or MOD's installed, only change is my ../joystick/default.lua file to support my WH HOTAS. Image attached. ---
