I know some of you don't use curves, and I don't either... But for me, the Apache is way too brutally twitchy in terms of yaw. I'm talking unrealistically so. The machine cannot fly like that in real life. I'm sorry, but I've flown helicopters in the past and that is just foolish. I'm saying tone them down, way down, to the more manageable levels of responsiveness found in the Huey/Mi8. So then I try to use a curve to tame it. Except then you trim with the PEDALS WITHOUT SPRINGS AND FFB option, the curve doesn't move over to the new center point as it should (and does for the cyclic). So then in a hover with left pedal put in, you're left with the sensitivity found in the mid-left region of the user-curve. I'm confident no one understands what I'm saying here. And it seems like the board is full of people who will defend ED at all costs rather than encourage ED to address an issue.

Why not give a rudder option akin to the Huey and every other heli in the sim? As of now, I don't know what's going on, but the anti-torque pedals in <profanity> module are totally insane.

I have a 2600x, 2060 super, 16gb ram, NVME SSD etc. I play on medium-low settings as I prefer frames over beauty. I usually get 100 fps. My rig is silky smooth. But for the last few days I've been so jaggy and janky I have no idea what's going on. HALO Infinite is perfect. BF2042 is perfect. Other games I've played all perfect. DCS only since last update is janky and jaggy as hellllll. 3 second to 8 second pauses in game play. It's impossible to play. And it SEEMS to happen right before a "sound" is going to play. Example, as I pull the trigger, it's like the game is cuing up the "gun sound" and causes a lag. Then just before RWR sound, it pauses for a second and I get the RWR sound. Very weird. Anyone else?

I can fly the Mi-8 almost as well as that. IMO the DCS Hind flies like absolute trash, and ED should be ashamed of themselves for not fixing the controls and the trimmer button for so long after release. Love Huey and Mi-8. I'm competent with the Hind... But I absolutely hate flying the Hind. Wish I could refund it.

HOWWWWWWWW is this not fixed? How How How How How? How is anyone enjoying this module while it flies like this? I feel so ripped off by this module because of this. FIX IT ED. With a hotfix. Immediately.

Well, I've experienced all of these things myself.

It's basically doing what the Shark does, and adding in +10% of whatever cyclic deflection you have when you "blip" the trimmer. So "holding and releasing" works, just like the Shark. But it SHOULD behave like the Mi8. Especially because, after all, it's simply a trim method that's being "aped" to help center-stick joystick operators. IMO this is a stupid area of the "sim" to try to be "accurate."
-
How was this missed before release and how was it not squashed on day one?

The Mi24 is based on the Mi8, right? I fly the Mi8 fine, the trim button works fine. The trimmer button on the hind induces over correction which is highly annoying. I personally find the Mi24 an absolute dog to fly compared to the Mi8, and I simply find it hard to believe that the Mi24 flies worse than the Mi8.

cannot reproduce and missing track file TPOD TDC Depress bugged in a/g?
Orwell replied to Orwell's topic in Bugs and Problems
okay so it's a product of using waypoint designate - I can't bring up the diamond after slewing from that point? I do notice my markpoints still work. -
Issue seems to be that a person has a given spec PC, runs the sim fine... Buys modules. Runs the modules fine. Game runs silky smooth... So then you buy more modules. You're really enjoying the sim. A year goes by. It's amazing. Everything is great. 60FPS+ Silky smooth! Then a patch comes and you lose 30FPS to 40FPS. Now the game you spent $1000 on runs like a slideshow. This isn't a good trend to set. The clouds are sick, but damn... Especially not cool in a hardware environment where you can't upgrade even if you do have the money.

What's the easiest and most action packed campaign?
Orwell replied to Orwell's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Yeah I do that most of the time. I would like something made by someone else, with a bit of story to it, but just wham bam around the city stuff. The Larkin one sounds interesting. -

Well easy I just meant not overly complicated in terms of mission design as I find long missions tedious and boring. I also find that more often than not there are game breaking small problems in the .miz files or the zones for mission success or triggers are too small or not obvious enough for me. I hate wasting 30 minutes flying somewhere and I miss a trigger and the mission is stuck and I have no idea what I did wrong or if I did something wrong. I also don't like having to read 12 pages of junk before the mission. This is just me and I know a lot of people love that stuff. -
My attention span is VERY short when it comes to missions. I cannot stand 30 minute flights to an area to do something, then 30 minutes back. Can't do it. I've tried? Are there any campaigns, for this module or other modules, which you can recommend for fast paced action without mountains of stuff to read and understand?

Can we get some kind of implementation of the rudder pressure switches? Heading hold is basically bugges without these switches in place as it only works with the rudder in center position. How about just make heading hold work regardless of rudder position? Or make it ignore rudder position for 2 seconds to you can recenter it?
-
If the Mi24 has the little pressure switches like the Mi8 does, can ED include the switches as an optional bind? Also, can ED add them to the Mi8? I don't think it would be too hard to add in. As it stands, the heading hold is impossible to use without it if you require some rudder input for coordinated flight.

Direction would only be for navigational purposes. You're being pushed into your seat, direction of turn doesn't matter. I also doubt there were any actual fights where pilots conducted g-warmups before engaging. Imagine how that would work out.
-
bro what crew? What fuel truck? What weapons loaders? What briefing room? You LARPing the hell out of this aren't you? At a certain point, you're just adding tedious features... Why not model in putting on your G suit? Why not model in the pre-flight piss? Why no model in getting into the company HMMV for the drive out to the line where your plane is, 1km away from the wing offices? You spawn in the cockpit man, you're missing 99% of what it is to be a pilot already. You wanna hit defog to clear the virtual condensation on your virtual canopy, that's awesome for you. This is why I'm saying make them optional.
-
Can you make the silly features optional? Putting the canopy up so the nonexistent ground crew can hand me my virtual DTC card is silly. Defogging the simulated fog on my virtual canopy is tedious as hell when I'm busy doing something. Make these things optional please?
