Hi, during this check only the ailerons (roll) and rudder (yaw) are checked by the crew chief (or WSO). So the stabilator position (pitch) won't be taken into account. The stabilator trim operation is verified only by checking if the needle in the cockpit moves. If you would like to learn more about the details of the ground checks, I highly recommend this chapter of our manual: https://f4.manuals.heatblur.se/crew_chief/overview.html Cheers

The "New Guy Audio" is probably the sound you are referring to. It plays when a new conctact is deteced or known conctact changes the PRF (pulse repetition frequency), for example when switching to lock. It consists of 3 beeps and the sound is dictacted by the PRF of given emitter (it's the same audio you would here in handoff mode just divided into 3 short beeps). Currently there is a bug which causes the volume knob to not affect the actual RWR volume sometims but it seems to be already fixed internally and the fix should be shipped in the next patch. Due to their PRF, some radars produce an audio tone which is high-pitched and it's expected. If you would like to adjust the tones you can find the files here: <DCS installation folder>\Mods\aircraft\F-4E\Sounds\Effects\Aircrafts\RHAW\radars. However I'm not sure if adjusting them would pass IC. I would also recommend taking a look at this chapter of the manual: https://f4.manuals.heatblur.se/systems/defensive_systems/radar_warning_receiver.html Cheers

RWR Symbology - Unknown with dots inside U. What do the dots signify?
Cat107 replied to 450Devil's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
For ALR-46 it's more or less like that in NATO designation system: Low band: E/F Medium band: G/H High band: I/J -

Cat107 replied to 450Devil's topic in DCS: F-4E Phantom
Hi, the number of dots indicates the band in which the unknown radar is detected: one - low band two - mid band three - high band This will info be added to the manual soon -
Fixed internally, will be shipped in the next patch

Hi, I think you mean the formation lights (the green stripes), right? We are investigating the issue, thanks for reporting

Currently Jester knows what radars both coalitions (blue and red) have at their disposal (in a given mission) and he won't call out radar types that are present only in your coalition (he will call out only those that are only in the enemy coalition or in both). Also on top of that he has some additional exclusion rules like for example he won't call out aircraft from your flight (even if enemy coalition also uses the same type). Right now he doesn't take flight path into account because the assumption is that even if the radar pops up behind you it can be a threat.

Hi, so sometimes jester is using so called "brevity codes" which are special words (used in real life by NATO) which has some specific meanings associated with them. If you would like to learn them you can just type "brevity codes" into Google and you can easily find the definitions. Another separate thing is that he can call out threats he sees on the RWR. For example by "Hawk" he means the MIM-23 Hawk (which is an american SAM system) as @G.J.Swrote.

Yes, to get out of "Hand Signals" mode and hear the crew chief, you need to apply the power to the intercom (even battery is enough), it's explained here: https://f4.manuals.heatblur.se/crew_chief/overview.html#communication

Wheel chocks are visible on the wheels in the air.
Cat107 replied to elekrytyk's topic in Bugs & Problems
Hi, we diagnosed an issue which casues the wheel chocks to appear after pilot ejection. If they appear for you in an unexpected moment even without ejecting then a track would be very helpful -
Even when you are not in handoff mode, the New Guy Audio (three beeps) should be automatically triggered when new emitter is detected or already detected emitter changes its PRF. The beeps frequency will be affected by the PRF of that emitter Regarding the launch warning: ALR-46 isn't able to detect all launches, it's explained a bit more here: https://forum.dcs.world/topic/349725-rwr-launch-warning/#comment-5445912

RWR unable to detect tracking/launch by aerial platforms
Cat107 replied to primus_TR's topic in Bugs & Problems
Yeah, the New Guy Audio (three beeps) should be automatically triggered when new emitter is detected or already detected emitter changes its PRF. No need to use handoff audio for that actually. The beeps frequency will be affected by the PRF of that emitter Regarding the launch warning: ALR-46 isn't able to detect all launches, it's explained a bit more here: https://forum.dcs.world/topic/349725-rwr-launch-warning/#comment-5445912 -
Hi, based on our extensive research we believe that ALR-46 wouldn't give such "raw" audio as @1qsb28 is describing. For example this Fan Song rattle would be hearable in case of APR-25 but not in the ALR-46 as the way it generates audio is more synthetic so to speak. It analyzes the given radar PRF and generates the sound based on that, it's not so "direct" as in some other systems.

I think that our altitude error is pretty accurate, but the current autopilot response is a bit too violent, we are already investigating the issue and we will try to adjust the autopliot to better handle that, thanks for your input

When the following actions are completed: Crew chief connects the external power (ground cart needs short amount of time to spool up before providing power) Both generator switches are set to EXTERNAL Instrument ground power switch is set to TEST INS power control knob is set to STBY The INS should be powered and the warm-up process should start (provided there is no failure in the aircraft). If those criterias are met and you still don't havbe the INS powered up, that's strange. Could you maybe provide a singleplayer track or a video? The ground cart supplies 115/200V AC which is distributed through the bus system in the same manner as generator output but with some exceptions. Power won't be applied to the instruments buses and AFCS to reduce components degradation. However you can apply the external power to them by using Instrument Ground Power Switch and Autopilot Ground Test Switch respectively. The first one is need for the INS.

You might also want to take a look at the UHF chapter in our manual for more details: https://f4.manuals.heatblur.se/systems/nav_com/uhf.html as well as this explanation of one of the special options reagarding the radio menu behavior: https://f4.manuals.heatblur.se/dcs/special_options.html#radio-menu-and-ptt-behavior If you have any further questions, feel free

Yeah, so the Nose Wheel Steering button can be used to toogle between heading hold and attitude hold for <5 degrees of roll region. I recommend taking a look at the "Flight Controls" chapter in our manual: https://f4.manuals.heatblur.se/systems/flight_controls_gear/flight_controls.html for more AFCS details. Let me qoute the part about the NWS as I think it's a pretty good summary: If you have any further questions, feel free
