  1. Pauldy, please allow me to recommend this article: http://www.simhq.com/_air/PDF/air_097print.pdf The more you learn to relax both on the stick and in the fight, whether BVR or up close and personal, the better. You'll learn how to supervise your energy and the situation much better. Obviously, there's a lot of buttons, sounds and things to keep up with. But remember, slow is smooth and smooth is fast! A general tip is to group everything you need to operate your radar on the throttle, providing you have a hotas setup like the X52, and then program everything for the actual flying on the stick. So the general idea is systems left, flying bits right. This helps separating functions thus easing memorizing the buttons. It really helps not having to remove your hands and eyes from the important things. In a high threat environment, a 102 keyboard is not part of your essential fighting kit.
  2. Error msgs persist after I removed the mod and all other mods too, in Modman.
  3. I've run into the same problem and tried the fix above, which works but does this: When I start LOCFG it returns the following on startup: and Any thoughts?
  4. A.S. Yeah, please tell :)
  5. So, where do we take it from here?
  6. aaah, yes. I forgot. It will be grand!
  7. dynamic campaign in php? persistant battlefield you say? I have some concepts lying around if you are interested. I guess you are trying to do something like europeinruins.com or similar?
  8. I'm up for it too, but only under lockon, don't have the patience for BS, no pun intended. I am a graphic designer and can do the patches/websites/skins/whatever. I can host everything and build something useful too. In terms of a name or symbol, check this out for inspiration: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Birds_in_Norse_mythology I'm all for the norse mythology here, cool stuff. Or we could just be Halgrim Helgrimson and the Helgrim Halgrimsons :D Hmmm, Hugin squad for BS, Munin for lockon? Or is that plain silly? Black Ravens, Thunderhammers? Fenris ulven is cool too. Anyways, lets go beserkergang/gång! Sounds great with the ts server. Heck we could even meet up IRL, something that makes flying w cross atlantic squads difficult.
  9. Funkster's other video does rather brilliantly showing the snake evasion tactic:

  12. :clap_2:
  13. I understand. Thumbs up on your luck, research, sheer perseverance. Now go build that perfect simpit and show the pictures. It pushes the dream for us all.
  14. Huh? Where did you get it from?
  15. wow! Very, very cool indeed! I am impressed that you're going for that kind of replica. What kind of equipment do you use to make these?
  16. NY, NY? Do I get a prize for guessing it? :)
  17. Good details. For instance, the major goes through what buttons on the stick does what. http://i.b5z.net/i/u/1219065/m/10_25_09_AAF_Maj_Brian_Miller_Flying_the_A-10_FTP_43.18.mp3 Disclaimer: I am not responsible for or interested in any political views voiced in the show. 18. Agreed. For all you worrying about the price of 2.0, consider this: 1 movie ticket @ 20 USD = 13.33 USD/hour 1 LO 2.0 @ 15 USD - played 5 hours/week for a year = 0.06 USD/hour I would say that's pretty fair. People should get paid for their work. Just my 6 cents on the whole price debate.
  19. cool beans, thanks a lot, mate.
  20. Where can I get the download version? I'd much rather have that (I presume it doesn't use starforce) since I will store a backup digitally anyway. I seem to have a knack for losing discs, too.
  21. Thanks, those will come in handy! :)
  22. Thanks, great with a little perspective.
  23. In spirit of open source and all that jazz, it seems a wiki with a file repository would be a good thing for those wanting to share their knowledge and have a place in 'the cloud' for the files. It's always good to have a spare spare. I'd be happy to host it and carry the cost. Anyone can log in and add articles, prints, files, how-to, blueprints etc. Buying tips and offers too. If you guys are interested, I'll set it up. Heck, if anyone wants a blog to post their progress, I can help out there as well. I build sites using WordPress as a CMS using custom data fields for a living, so there's really no limit to what can be done (see pickupsongs.net for my current project). Let me know. It's the least I can do in return for some knowledge.
  24. I want to build a small desktop pit around the new TM HOTAS when that comes. I live in a very small flat so for now it'll probably be something along the lines of Talisman's Ikea pit http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=42253 But as soon as we move, I am going for a fantasy side-by-side pit with the left side being as close to the A10 as possible. My spouse recently declared that she wants me to teach her how to fly and wants to build a pit with me. I guess I am pretty lucky in that department! So a side-by-side where we can both fly but still doubles up as a single seater when I need to blow some stuff up in the hog. But that's for much later.
  25. I'll be watching this thread, great tips.
