  1. Can you let me know what will it cost to send both VS228 to India?
  2. So how good do you think missiles are? Aim-120C scored a Pk of less then 50% in testing, against non-maneuvering, non-evading targets with no ECM or CM.
  3. I don't know if you have seen the data sheets produced by Raython for its missiles, they look like advertisement material rather then datasheets. And AFAIK Aim-120-C5 achieved a Pk of 46% against target drones( non maneuvering, non evading and not even spoofing chaffs and one hit was a heli). You can get data on R-27s and others from herehttp://eng.ktrv.ru/production_eng/323/503/
  4. You are just adding different terms to prove him right. He never mentioned your points for longer shot rather he mentioned the longer range of AIM-120. And before Aim-120C came you can go and check out the ranges of A and B models. Throwing jargons isn't going to alter the facts. And I tend not to trust guys who boast too much about their experience. Actually what I have seen is people who have more knowledge tend to be subtle in their talk.
  5. Seriously, I don't think this paper was written by someone knowledgeable rather it feels like it was written by and arm chair journalist. Once he says, MiG is difficult to fly then he says its relatively easy to fly, the he says it is sluggish because the stick traverse to opposite extremes is larger(but MiG's stick sits between legs so it had to be longer and so will have longer traversing). Then he says its flight characteristic are bad because it requires higher attention but then MiG is not a complex machine so pilot can surely dedicate his time on flying. Again he says MiG can flywell but pilot needs to pay more attention and work harder when in WVR, gun employment but then isn't that necessary. MiG has ability to manually over ride AOA limiter and F-16 can't(it will depart from normal flight), still MiG had bad flight characteristics. Only thing I found bad is MiG can't sustain high AOA longer but it can attain higher AOA if needed to use its guns. He says MiG is good with HMCS and R-73 but he finishes the paragraph by saying that US fighters will have Aim-9x in 2007 but forgets to mention that R-73 has had lots of upgrades without changing designation until major one or R-73E. In BVR he says both can detect target at same distance but F-16 can launch at longer distance but this guys is forgetting that until 1996 Aim-120A/B had almost the same range as R-27R and being a bit faster can reach target faster. And if F-16 can fly in flight of 2, I am sure MiG pilot won't go macho and enter the arena alone. Finally, I don't think rather then being an unbiased paper it seems to me like a fanboy article.
  6. Thanks man, so its not a gauge rather a preset.
  7. It shows the readings in mmHg(millimeter of Mercury) and 760mm is at sea level but it should drop as the pressure drops with the increase in altitude but it seems to remain at 760 all the time.
  8. Thought so but had a second thought that it might be external atmospheric pressure. But whats the point in displaying cockpit pressure in altimeter, shouldn't it be outside pressure?
  9. Just off topic, which pressure does the pressure gauge in altimeter display?
  10. I see your cockpit reading was showing Mach 2.45 and tacview was also showing Mach 2.45.
  11. My mach meter shows that my fully loaded Su-27 can super cruise (mach 1.1 at mil power)
  12. First of all, I don't understand why did you set the scan range to 100Kms and elevation 2 kms when you set your HUD range to just 50Kms. You had targets at range more then 100 and 1km below you at the time of final intercept. Secondly, when your first target was 50-60Kms away you there was a change in your lock, your RADAR lock got turned off and your EOS started tracking. Now, I don't know if you turned it off by yourself or it got turned of by itself and R-27ER won't be having any launch on EOS lock and that is why you were getting flashing LA. Also, for head-on engagement you can use HI PRF for higher detection range rather then ILV (interleaved).
  13. You are mistaken my friend. Absolute altitude record does not mean sustained flight, that is what service ceiling means. Absolute altitude means a zoom climb till your engines can push you and then you start dropping or you have to put your nose down to avoid stall.
  14. I don't think it is black out and because humans can only sustain a few negative Gs, I think the pilot dies. When you are entering inverted spin you initial experience so many negative Gs that you dies even before you experience red out.
  15. Try dropping gear and flaps and hold the stick forward with all controls on opposite side of spin. Works most of the times for me.
  16. Keep your speed around 1100kmph and when Aim-120C goes active do barrel rolls in the direction of the missile. Ofcourse people will say barrel roles are useless but thats how I defeat the missiles.
  17. We have seen that a jack of all A/c usually isn't a good design. Those A/c that are made specialist with option of other duties have been a success. They say F-35 is awesome is A-A, excellent in A-G, nightmare in SEAD and more and what it actually is a meager C- in all tasks. Well structurally F-35 isn't cutting edge and if its so good electronically why even boast about F-22. You don't get sarcasm, do you?
  18. Actually this one C:\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Scripts\Aircrafts\_Common\Customhuman.lua Line 85 CustomHumanData[PlaneType.Su_27 ] = CWSType.iCWS_F_15 But it won't work due to new cockpit I guess.
  19. Air Liners are dropping out of the sky like paper planes. So much for 1 in a 5 milllion.
  20. I don't think that happens because there is an argument that lets the modeller hide the object unnecessary in cockpit view, same as it is done for the cockpit glass (the glass that we see from cockpit is a part of cockpit 3D model and not plane's exterior 3d model.
  21. My bad bro. There is no speed or altitude. I think I was smoking weed while typing.
  22. In scan mode you will get all that info. only if you lock the target otherwise not. In TWS mode you just take the cursor over the target and even without locking you will get its speed and altitude information.
  23. Right now what I see the R-27ER just tracks the target in pure pursuit, there is not lofty trajectory or data-link or anything. And yes when you launch HOJ target will get RWR warning but as soon as you break lock it will disappear. I scan mode you don't get approximate distance and height of target in TWS mode you get distance, altitude and direction of target and still the RADAR keeps scanning for more targets. You will notice that in the absence in AWACS.
  24. If you throttle down any plane it will try to pitch up. It will do so to increase lift at slow speeds.
