  1. Ehm... sorry but "standard picture viewer of Windows" is not an appropriate application to do that. Test the texure in game.
  2. LOL, and the answer was... the texture is corrupted! :) Sorry, but mine works perfectly, have you tried to download it again? With which application do you opened the file? Becouse both of the textures seems so different from mine...
  3. Sorry, but I don't get you... the archive is corrupt? You don't find the mi8mtv-cpt-glass.dds texture? The texture is corrupted or don't work?
  4. I washed your windshield, Sir! Seriously, I have no way to prove it, because I don't have the Mi-8 (although it deserves to be bought!)... hope it works. I use Photoshop with NVIDIA DDS plug-in (https://developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-texture-tools-adobe-photoshop) , but you can use also GIMP with this plugin: http://registry.gimp.org/node/70. mi8mtv-cpt-glass.zip
  5. OK, I finally updated the original file by including only the Russian version and I then uploaded the English version. The ZIP went from almost 90Mb to just over 50Mb. Russian version: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1681093/ English version: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1703560/
  6. Thank you! It was probably only a corrupted file... Today (6 Jan) I could probably upload a final version with the use of custom cockpit texture, so you do not have to substitute the original files.
  7. Not that much, materials and textures are in plain text! BUT! I've spent about 10 hours to figure out that the specular map for the texture 003 is associated to the material named "MiG-21_CP_003_2" ... aaaahrrg! I've noticed that the button under the HSI has some scratches on it... So, at last, I've finally finished to assign every materials now!
  8. Yes... the materials names are in plain text, so I can read them with a good text editor, such Notepad++.
  9. I've found were to read the materals to apply the texture to! For whom may concern they are in "<DCS World>\Mods\aircraft\MiG-21bis\Shapes\Mig-21_CP.edm"! So I've managed to create a complete custom livery (only some details to add) and then I can create two separate custom cockpit, one in Russian language and one for the English. @Custard: here two screenshot of the annunciators, at night and at day, in sunlight and shadow (the latter is an old screenshot, the lights are slightly better centered and the corner more rounded now).
  10. Mhmm... strange. It seems like you have selected "settings"->"special"->"MiG-21bis"->"custom cockpit livery". Anyway, if it works that's fine! ;)
  11. Exactly! To be precise it seems to me that, at the time, the MiG-21bis actually use the DCS cockpit textures, but limited to only one custom texture. Hope they will improve that aspect in future updates. That said, I need all the texture names to make a "real" custom texture, because I edited more texture sheets than those given in their description.lua files. That's not a problem because I entirely substitute the original texture for now. To use the English cockpit you must have chosen in the general settings -> gameplay -> avionics language -> english, so yes, you can use only one texture at a time. I've used the \english\ folder though: copy all the files in the \english\ folder in the ZIP in the \english\ forlder in your DCS World\Mods\aircraft\MiG-21bis\Liveries\ directory.
  12. English! Perfect! I am also quite happy with the color! And meanwhile, I've finished the English cockpit too! You can find it in the same mod. I've replaced the "english" cockpit livery (I've added only a file more). If I manage to get the custom livery working for the MiG-21 I will update the file. For now, I hope to enjoy my last holiday day! ;)
  13. Thanks to all, very appreciated! @Oldguy: as you probably already have checked out from the picture, the new cockpit is still a bit more "bluish" than the colour you have linked. I hope that is close enough for you. @theGozr: you want the English version, eh? Since you care about, I'll see what I can do...
  14. Done! ... again ... Texture updated with your suggestions, namely: corrections announcer text, new cockpit colour, blacks instruments details (I hope these will not be too distracting or annoying) and a few small improvements. Hope you like it! LINK: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1681093/
  15. It's pretty simple if you read the post: LN cockpit = too much worn out (not even abandoned planes at the sides of the runway are in that conditions :D); MY cockpit = brand new airplane (just out of factory). Moreover we reported some small mistakes to be corrected here and there in the original cockpit, but of course LN did a very awesome job with this aircraft!
  16. I've almost finished in repainting the pit, 3 texture sheet left... I think I've undestand how the description.lua works, so I can manage to do a "clean" and a "clean english" version. Pant!
  17. OK, thanks. I'll try also to do them black, my only fear is that they can be too distracting in such a colour ... I can do it, but I need instructions about how to make it.
  18. I've used a customized (by me) version of UniSans. It's attached below. Oh! If you find some better match, I'm here! ;) Fonts.rar
  19. Yes, I've found also some images of the bis version with the black bridges over the gauges. I think (but not 100% sure) that the black bridges comes from older and totlly black pits and it's not only a matter of repaint. Anyway, I will repaint the texure (and yes, I hate you both... ;) ).
  20. Uh, quite a lot of things! OK, I've done the corrections, thank you again! Some of the differences are from the original texture, I'll report them (at your name, of course) with the other discrepancies.
  21. Right, I'll do it ASAP! Thanks!
  22. Ahh! I was waiting your post! Your color is interesting, I think my color is too much saturated indeed (too much vivid), I pick it from some images in that page: http://pulson.ru/technology-2/mig-21-krupnyim-planom-67-foto.html. Using various photos as a reference I found that the hue is slightly more blue than your pick (yours is 179°, my pick would be 185°, current is 194°). The problem is that with texture you must cheat! At least in my eyes, it seems too greysh applying the new color so I must use a compromise. I've attached an image where the bottom panel recieved a new hue (190°, hex: #0a91a3) for comparison. It's not as I want, so I have to try until I find something convincing...
  23. Thank you! Here you can find the annunciators panel, I've corrected this and other small errors, if you tell me that there are no others, I can update the files.
  24. I've uploaded the corrections, and some other refinements (new screw heads and such...). Thank you for the tip!
  25. Thanks, I've uploaded the new cockpit here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1681093/ For any comments, you can follow the original discussion here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=153273
