Some people might answer that the cook is cooking from several years now: the food has lost its flavor! But not me, huh!

Su-27 instruments functions (?)
F l a n k e r replied to Bourrinopathe's topic in Su-27 for DCS World
Intake ramps, like GGTharos said. Tanks a lot to Esac_mirmidon and you all for the precious info! -
Sorry, I don't understand your answers, if these are answers, since I don't have posted a question. My statement is that the situation is rather strange. Period. I am sure that things will be clarified, but please, do not ask us not to talk about it.
-
So, give us informations. Or rather at least one valid reason, technical or human that is, why this project is currently under threat of closure. We can not have information, we can not write on the sub-forum, we can not even talk about it? You will agree with me that the thing is - to say the least - very strange!

Su-27 instruments functions (?)
F l a n k e r replied to Bourrinopathe's topic in Su-27 for DCS World
Eh eh, yes, because Germans used Google translate for клин :P (http://translate.google.it/?hl=en&tab=wT#ru/en/%D0%BA%D0%BB%D0%B8%D0%BD) -
Su-27 instruments functions (?)
F l a n k e r replied to Bourrinopathe's topic in Su-27 for DCS World
Sorry, but the ramps, or the "wedge" like you name it (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intake_ramp), mainly serve to compress the air (and slow it down) by means of internal shock waves at supersonic speeds. Anti-surge systems are mainly located in the engine. -
Proof of missiles existing ... or not.
F l a n k e r replied to NOLA's topic in Military and Aviation
Exactly ФрогФут, indeed R-27 is written withe the э (Р-27ЭР - semi-active radar homing, Р-27ЭТ, infrared homing). But I think I've bored you enough with the meaning of these acronyms... -

F l a n k e r replied to NOLA's topic in Military and Aviation
No, he is not: no official source, and moreover export is with э not е. -

F l a n k e r replied to NOLA's topic in Military and Aviation
Yes, indeed is Р-27ЭР (R-27ER) with the Э probably stands for энергия (energy). -

F l a n k e r replied to NOLA's topic in Military and Aviation
Mhmm, there is not an official source that clarifies what the "AE" are for. I don't think is for export (экспорт) nor energia (энергия) and neither Arab Emirates (Арабские Эмираты, yes some source claims that: http://forums.airbase.ru/2011/07/t65654,3--rakety-novogo-veka.9962.html), becouse of the latin "E". -
what to expect from Su-27 module?
F l a n k e r replied to nap0leonic's topic in Su-27 for DCS World
Yes of course, if fact I speak for me, is my point of view: I don't like the MFD cockpit and too modern planes which it is very difficult to find performance and technical information (often this is also true for very old aircraft!). There are a lot of planes "forgotten" to be simulated: MiG-23/-27, Su-15, F-4, A-4, F-105 ... -

F l a n k e r replied to nap0leonic's topic in Su-27 for DCS World
I don't like the MFD-cockpits (a computer that simulates a computer, how exciting!), so it's fine for me! -
AI can run out of fuel, I think from Flanker 2.0! I can think of only one possibility: have you taken on board same fuel amount of your wingman?

New Su-27 model coming for FC3 / DCSW.
F l a n k e r replied to Eight Ball's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Oh, look at the details! Hinges, antennas, gears struts... everithing! I'm weeping! Thank you, really, thank you very much! Just to be ultra picky: the fuselage could be a bit more shiny, like in this phto: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/49/Su-27SM3_in_flight%2C_Celebration_of_the_100th_anniversary_of_Russian_Air_Force.jpg -
Eh eh eh, like you said, is "before", too much "before" for me! :D I'm not, it's just my incurable need for Soviet junk ... Many other peolpe can say the same about estern bias.
-
Mhmm... sorry but the A-10C, the P-51D and now the F-15C for FC3 (not to mention the F-18 3D model for the new CDS aircraft... oops, shh!) are made by ED, not by 3rd parties.
-
Thanks for updates, Wags. The comments written recently by some of us about FC3 are to be considered as a clear manifestation of our passion for a unique product (unfortunately!) of its kind. Keep up the good work! (:director: and update the Su-27 3D model!)
-
I think (like GGTharos said well better than me) that someone confuses the feeling whit the fidelity. I've tryed an MD-80 training fligth simulator (of the eighties!) and than an A321 training fligth simulator (a recent aquisition of the same big airline company). Let me say that the feeling of flying an airplane was much more intense on the MD-80! This because the original airplanes aerodynamics and systems are, of course, different!

Unofficial List of Upcoming DCS Aircraft
F l a n k e r replied to Bluedrake42's topic in DCS World 1.x (read only)
Sorry, but is Su-34 Fullback (not Fallback). And, for consistency, the NATO name of the MiG-15 is Fagot. Thank you all for the updates! -
Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
F l a n k e r replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Not all models: it still remains the old, hugly 3D model of the Su-27 from Lock on, damn it! >:( Yeah, we have the 3DGO model, but why not update the first old star of the series? Maybe with a clickable cockpit? :D
