Soviet Made Vietnam Era Mig-21 shoot down modern Fighters
Zaltys replied to pepin1234's topic in Military and Aviation
Pure speculation. -
I've assigned everything directly from controls setup window, and it works perfectly.

Book is really interesting, will wait for used one. ;)

Isn't IRST for Super Hornet based on F-14D?
-
So we will get this (from Combat Aircraft monthly October issue): "Although the Tomcat had good low-speed handling characteristics thanks to its ‘swingwings’ and clever lift devices — spoilers plus full-span leading-edge slats and trailing-edge aps — the aircraft could be a handful in the final stages of a carrier landing. It was poor at holding an accurate approach speed or glideslope angle and it tended to veer away from a heading. The jet also suffered from high pitch inertia, causing it to float in the final seconds prior to landing. High residual thrust meant that pilots had to use low throttle settings, giving poor engine response when more power was required. Finally, indifferent lateral control made precise heading control difficult."

+1 for ultimate Tomcat!

Have same problem with X65F - after some updates it works and after some updates doesn’t. Currently I can’t assign microstick to TDC via axis control, but I could several updates ago.
-
That's certainly new point of view for me, and I'll need some time to digest it. Thank you for sharing!

Great video! At 3.00 stick movement is visible.

+1 For those who are waiting for F/A-18C, it's a week of nothing. We are 1.5 month into 2017, and with every weekly update so far hope for Bug this year is diminishing. I think with such long development, busted promises and mishandled comms with community, there is no reason for optimism.

DCS: F-14A/A+/B by Heatblur Simulations coming to DCS World!
Zaltys replied to Cobra847's topic in DCS: F-14A & B
Oh man, that's sooooo cool! Finally something worth my attention in DCS. :) -
What I've understood, is that in all modern Flight Control Systems you should get exactly same response from a/c for same pressure applied on the stick, regardless of speed (as long as it is possible). Any link to info on those 5th generation fighters?
-
Ok, here what I was able to find out, don't pretend to be 100 % true: First column: - autopilot disconnect (autopilot switch off) - 4-way master modes (A/A, A/G, NAV) switch - display's cursor steering - super maneuverability switch - trigger, I understand it's used for everything except gun - don't know exactly, looks like it resets something (like TMS down in F-16) - temporary disconnect of autopilot Second column: - forcing aircraft to horizontal straight and level flight - don't know - gun pickle (yes, it's strange position for it) - don't know, but looks like it points to trigger - management of EO station - comms switch - consent for something (?) - speed brake - introduction (direct translation from Russian) - chaff/flare Third column: - weapons selection BTW, there was information that it's an old configuration of HOTAS.
-
I just said what I remeber from my head. I need more time to look into it.
-
Oh man. It looks nice, but seems that they were so afraid of accusations of copying something, that they just did almost everything vice versa from western HOTAS. For example: radar cursor (third from the top left row) on the central moving stick, can you imagine managing it under high g?
-
You really fly simulators?
-
AFAIK it's Su-35's HOTAS, not T-50's

Bitdefender and the same story here.
