Constant crashing after update today?

Since updating today to latest version the game crashes when trying to load mission or instant action. I get a windows error 'DCS has stopped working' and then a DCS error 'cannot open debriefing file' anyone experience difficulties since updating and/or have a solution?

Hi drummer,

 

navigate to

 

C:\Users\yourname\Saved Games\DCS\Logs

 

right click your logs folder and zip, then attach to a post here

Please apply this guide to the version you are reporting

DCS.Openbeta

DCS.OpenAlpha

 

Navigate to C:UsersyournameSaved GamesDCS

OR C:UsersyournameSaved GamesDCS.Openbeta

OR C:UsersyournameSaved GamesDCS.Openalpha

 

attachment.php?attachmentid=108836&stc=1&d=1417907591

 

right click on the logs folder and send to compressed folder

 

It will create a zipped folder called logs

 

attachment.php?attachmentid=108837&stc=1&d=1417907591

 

now go to the forum and hit reply.

 

you will get the option to manage attachments, select the newly created zip folder and upload.

You didn't say what module you tried to start, if it's the hawk, it needs a extra patch to start up without crashing.

Can you post the fix? I don't really want to create another login for another forum. I can't see their forum w/o a login. I have the same problem. Thanks

The patch is probably obsolete by now (i.e. Hawk in 1.2.16).

 

Check out the VEAO Hawk forums for possible solutions or post the details of your issue there if you find no solution.

I meant the Hawk subforum here on forums.eagle.ru. But before fixing the problem, we have to identify it first - we really don't know yet if yours is really Hawk related as well.

 

So, here this applies then as well:

Hi drummer,

Why don't U install the stand alone ver. of DCS.? U do not need steam to run the Sim. in the DCS World program and few users are experiencing issues with it now.

 

If U prefer the steam ver. of the Sim. then I think U need to try adding the latest Redistributed files form Microsoft found here. http://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/details.aspx?id=6812

 

Remember that DX9 and DX11 are not compatible U will need both ver. of DX on ur PC. U did install DX9 when asked? Some users think DX11 makes DX9 superfluous, it doesn't. Install both.
