GumidekCZ Posted April 19, 2020 Posted April 19, 2020 Reporting bug, where after some short time (10-20sec) of flight, AGM62 goes mad and not following any of my command via D/L. AGM62 than tryes to flatten its trajectory, still responding to my commands, but very chaotically - unable to aim to any target. Track file: FA-18C__AGM-62_BUG.trk
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted April 20, 2020 ED Team Posted April 20, 2020 Hi, I can see in your track you are having problems, I suspect it is due to not having a good initial lock. GumidekCZ Posted April 21, 2020 Author Posted April 21, 2020 (edited) Hi, I can see in your track you are having problems, I suspect it is due to not having a good initial lock. When I fly the mission all seems ok for me. thanks Reason to be equiped with DL pod for AGM-62 is because of you dont need to have initial lock when wpn released, but with DL commands you should have the posssibility to acquire the TGT when AGM62 in flight. My problems in track are intentional to depict the problem the DL guided Walleye now have. Without this working correctly, how would be able to hit any TGT from longer range (24nm) or to switch nearby targets for higher value TGT. https://fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/smart/agm-62.htm The data link further allows the controlling aircraft to control the weapon in flight and to either retarget or redefine the target aim point. The controlling aircraft can be the launching aircraft or a second aircraft equipped with a data link pod (AN/AWW-9B). Not very reliable source, but still... Try to drop it to general area of TGT presence from longer range and try to hit any contrast target there with switching current TGT for nearby TGT - for example 10-15 seconds before impact (with enought speed and time to steer the bomb). ED Team BIGNEWY Posted April 24, 2020 ED Team Posted April 24, 2020 Hi, I have tested and asked other testers to try and all seem ok. You can not make big adjustments with it, the weapon is much older tech so you want to be within a good firing parameters. Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Xxx Posted June 16, 2020 Posted June 16, 2020 Walleye slew control 2.5.6 release. Walleye without Data link. DDI selected, walleye target cross visible. Press and hold TDC button but I can't get the crosshairs to move with slew command. I have a Saitek x55 with TDC slew mapped to a separate stick. I am wondering if pressing TDC and using the separate (axis) stick to slew, is conflicting somehow. I tried reassigning the TDC slew to a non axis button, but that doesn't work either. Or is this a bug? Thanks [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]i7 Haswell @ 4.6Ghz, Z97p, GTX1080, 32GB DDR3, x3SSD, Win7/64, professional. 32" BenQ, TIR 5, Saitek x55 HOTAS. GumidekCZ Posted June 16, 2020 Author Posted June 16, 2020 If you even think about bug, don't forget to add track file here. I have reported bug with AGM62 weird behaviour, but was marked as (can't reproduce). Check it if may be same thing. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=270373

Check it if may be same thing. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=270373 Yes, could be related. But I can't slew the seeker on the DDI, my TDC slew control won't work with this weapon. I am guessing it's because you have to hold down the TDC depress knob as well as use the TDC slew. If I recall, the Maverick had similar slew problems when it was first released. Why do you need to hold down the TDC Depress when slewing the seeker? Anyway, I was just trying the Walleye, but after the fail, I prefer to use the JDAM/JSOW. Speaking of the latter, I use my JTAC to laze the target, then LSS to acquire the coordinates, then TDC the coords into the JSOW in TOO Mode. Works nicely with the A JSOW! Cheers. LastRifleRound Posted June 16, 2020 Posted June 16, 2020 If you have an active designation, it won't slew just like MAVF. Press undesignate then you can slew.
Xxx Posted June 17, 2020 Posted June 17, 2020 (edited) Did you press the SCS to the correct DDI (diamond in the right upper corner of the DDI visible)? Did you uncage the seeker? Did you exactly follow the steps in ? Thanks, yes and Red Kites video and Chuck's Guide. I managed a non datalink lock last night. Seemingly the countdown clock (top leftDdi) doesn't count down. So after fiddling with cage/uncage for several minutes, I got a picture and somehow, a lock. When I select WEDL there is no TDC slew available on that DDI. I have to go to HUD SOI to slew the cross hairs. The DDI the WEDL is on does not show any Datalink OSB designation? I have DL on. I am also using the Litening pod for an initial target point. So I am left with a designation of target via TPod or HUD. Anyway thanks for the reply. I think I'll stick to my favourite JSOW with either PPI or TPOD lock. I found I can LSS a JTAC and transfer the coords to JSOW in TOO. That's impressively nice!
