No.

The only way is to remap Shval movements to joystick axis.

There's a knob which, IIRC, adjusts the scan rate, but I don't recall if it adjusts the slew rate - check in the manual and try it.

Make sure you're not zoomed in in the shkval first of all, and if you really need faster re-positioning, helmet sight is your friend.

Edit: Rik beat me to it.

What stick do you have. Im using the Cougar and have mine set on the microstick, it moves almost to fast. Then i use the thumb controle to fine adjust. Othervise the helmer mountet sight works great to, when the heat is on. So im guessing it has something to dø wich axis you have it set up for!

Is there anyway to adjust the Schkval scroll rate?? My Schkval cursor seems to just drag soo slow across the screen. Is there any way to go into the config and adjust the speed of it?
I have the same issue Loyal. As mentioned above, the knob on the right panel adjusts the SCAN rate, but not the rate that the Shkval moves when you hold the up/down/left/right control. The slew rate *is* higher at 7x as opposed to 23x zoom, but it's still pretty slow (especially when you're getting shot at!).

One method I tried to improve the Shkval slew rate was to set control axes for the ABSOLUTE Shkval position. This isn't realistic, but it did dramatically increase the speed at which I could slew the Shkval. I felt like I was using Etchasketch controls, thouhg, too awkward and cumbersome to be practical, so now I just live with the slow slew rate. In really hot situations, I'll use the HMS to get the Shkval close and then dial 'er in with the HAT on the cyclic. There are problems with this approach (e.g., targets with high line-of-sight rates), but overall it's been managable.

Looking forward to hearing about any other gems that the rest of the community may have found!

Good luck!

The scan rate setting is for the automated left-right sweep feature speed, nothing to do with the hat slew speed.

In real life the hat on the cyclic of the Ka-50 isn't just a 4 or 8-way button, but an actual axis where the more you displace it from center the faster the Shkval slews. I don't know if the sim replicates this ability with some available Shkval hat axes, but it should. However most people don't have an extra set of spring loaded axes lying around on their joystick to make use of this.

The way ED "makes it work" on most people's joystick is that holding down the slew button hat directions speeds up the input over time. The longer you hold it the faster the slew speed. I'm sure these values of minimum slew speed and time-to-accelerate are recorded in an LUA file that you could easily edit.

Thats how i use it.

I have the pinkie switch on my x52 pro set as a modifier. So to slew the Shkval, i hold the pinkie switch and move the joystick in the desired direction. If i'm in a hover i usually slave the Shkval to the helmet mounted sight and use the jostick to get the target box right where i need it.

I just have to remember to release it when i need to change flight direction, but thats not a problem while hovering of course.

I'm no expert (as a matter of fact i'm far from it LOL) but this is what works for me.

Would you be so kind as to post your Macro (.tmm) and Joystick (.tmj) entries pertaining to the above.

Open:

Scripts\Aircrafts\Ka-50\Cockpit\Devices_specs\SHKVAL_V.lua then find:

slew_acceleration_base  = math.rad(6)  -- rad /sqr sec

and change it (this "6") for another value - higher = faster slew.
