Su-27. Use your nose as a brake.

You know what it's like, you've had a bad day. You forget to put the gear down, the speed is too high, the brakes don't work, the parachute has got moths, it happens all the time. What to do. So use your nose as a brake. Raise the gear and drop the nose on the runway and skid to a halt. Turn and take off. Raise and lower the gear and then land. It's as good as new and your C/O will never know you ****ed up. (Humor).

LOL nice. Quick question... I'm a n00b to FC3 acft as I've really only ever dabbled with the A-10C and some of hte other hi-fi sims, I just got into FC3 aircraft on this most recent update... are you using a mod to enable your SU-27's HUD to display english characters, or am I high lol

Tick the English cockpit tab in the Options. It's in there somewhere.

You could use the launch rails under the engine nacelles as skids (as in real life:))

i even managed to take off again:)

Of course this rather comical raising of the undercart on the Flanker, when on the ground can't be done on the RL version, so I expect there will be a fix for this soon and that extra brake will be lost. :smilewink:

There is a limit switch on the struts of the wheels, so when the struts are completely extended you can take the gear up, thats what happened here. You can't raise the gear if you are at stand still, I mean with struts compressed.

Is that a fact, or conjecture?

A weight-on-wheels switch is common in pretty much every western jet, but it seems like the Russian hardware doesn't always have "safety" equipment that prevents the pilot from doing stupid things.

So I ask if the Flanker has a WOW switch as a serious question...

In the changelog, I saw that the Flanker gear has been fixed.

I assumed that it was the ability to raise the gear when on the ground, that has been sorted, but it still does it.

So what gear problem has been fixed?
